Chapter 74 The Intoxication of Wealth and Luxury
Alison was groggily dragged out of the bar by two good-looking guys and found herself at the nightclub next door.
There, she seemed to be drinking non-stop, alternating between shots and dancing. The two guys were always around her, whistling under the neon lights, making her scream with excitement.
In the haze of the night, she forgot who she was and gradually lost consciousness...
The whole night passed in a blur.
When Alison woke up, she found herself in an unfamiliar room, her heart pounding in her chest.
The room was bare, with only a bed. The windows were boarded up tightly, and the room was pitch dark, with only a small lamp on the wall providing some light.
She checked herself; her clothes were still on, but her purse, phone, and money were all gone.
Alison ran to the door and pulled hard, but it was locked from the outside. She realized she was in trouble, locked in this room by someone.
She tried to recall the events of the previous night but could only remember drinking with that woman. Everything after that was a blur.
She must have drunk too much.
In Paris, she hadn't made any enemies, so it couldn't be a vendetta. Then, it was likely...
The thought made her tremble all over.
"Let me out!" Alison shouted in French, banging on the door. She knew she couldn't afford to be in trouble; what would Sophia and Ethan do without her?
But there was only silence outside, her voice echoing in the empty room.
She had no idea where she was or what time it was. This bare room was clearly meant to hold someone.
Alison curled up in a corner, regretting her recklessness and childishness. Now, she didn't even have her phone to contact Jack or Aidan.
Even if they were looking for her, it wouldn't help. Paris was so big, and she might not even be in the city anymore, but in some remote, rundown castle.
She was alone and helpless, waiting for whoever had captured her to decide her fate. There was no water, no food.
After seven or eight hours of agonizing silence, Alison finally heard footsteps outside the door. The sound was like her only hope. She rushed to the door, banging and shouting, "Let me out!"
But the person outside ignored her cries. She only heard the sound of the lock being opened.
The door opened, and Alison tried to rush out, to escape this prison. But as soon as she took a step, she was shoved back, losing her balance and falling to the ground.
A bearded man stood before her, his presence cold and intimidating, making Alison shiver.
"Get up, woman," a cold voice commanded in her ear.
Alison looked up at the man, shaking her head slightly. She didn't want to listen to him; he was the one who had captured her.
Seeing her refusal to stand, the man angrily ordered, "Get her up!"
Two burly men behind him immediately grabbed Alison, lifting her like a rag doll, holding her shoulders so she couldn't move.
The bearded man scrutinized her, his gaze lingering on her not-so-full chest. He pointed at it and said, "Except for this, the rest is to my liking. Schedule her for a breast augmentation tomorrow. In half a month, she'll be ready to work."
Hearing this, Alison was stunned. She had indeed been sold, and tomorrow she would undergo breast augmentation surgery.
She wanted to refuse but stopped herself. Maybe the surgery could buy her some time, give her a chance to escape.
She quickly thought it over and didn't resist. She knew resistance was futile; she couldn't possibly fight off these two strong men.
She had to face the consequences of her actions. She couldn't panic or lose her composure, or she would be trapped with no way out.
So, she stood there quietly, letting them judge her. Every word they said humiliated her, but she had to endure it.
This was the result of leaving Jack and Aidan.
"Boss, should we schedule her surgery for tomorrow?" one of the men asked.
"Yeah, tomorrow. The sooner, the better. This girl will definitely earn back the surgery cost, and then some," the bearded man replied.
"Got it," the subordinate responded, then released Alison. The group left the room one by one, the door slamming shut, once again cutting her off from freedom.
She began to miss Ethan, Sophia, Jack, Aidan, and Jackson intensely. Their faces kept flashing in her mind; she missed them so much.
Her captors were clearly organized; she had no way to escape, only to bide her time and look for an opportunity.
That night, she was in a daze, half-awake, unable to sleep soundly. The room was always lit by that dim wall lamp, the only sign of human civilization she could feel.
She longed to make a phone call, but she couldn't.
Footsteps sounded outside again. Alison guessed they were coming to take her for the breast augmentation surgery.
The door opened, and the two burly men gagged her with a cloth, blindfolded her, tied her hands, and "escorted" her out of the room.
Finally, she felt the sunlight, though it was just a faint glow through the blindfold, but it gave her a glimmer of hope.
She was pushed into a car. Unable to see, her hearing became exceptionally sharp. There were four men in the car, their accents varied, and Alison memorized their voices.
The car drove for about half an hour before stopping. She was put into a bag and carried out. When she emerged from the bag, she was in a plastic surgery clinic's operating room.
The blindfold was removed, and she could finally see her surroundings: white walls, doctors, and nurses in white uniforms. But with her mouth gagged, Alison couldn't speak or call for help. Soon, a nurse approached with a syringe and injected something into her arm.
She tried to avoid it but couldn't. As her consciousness faded, she realized she couldn't escape the breast augmentation surgery.
Alison fell into a deep sleep, this time due to the anesthesia.
She had thought her life was ruined, that she had lost her true self. Breast augmentation, to her, represented falseness, something she really didn't like.
But she had no choice.
Time passed unknowingly, long and torturous.
Fortunately, under the anesthesia, she was unaware of it all.
When she woke up, her consciousness gradually returned, and she instinctively touched her chest.
No pain, no stiffness from the anesthesia.
In the haze, light streamed in. Alison was about to open her eyes when a hand gently held hers, enveloping it, a warm and familiar presence washing over her.
He was here.
She was saved.
Tears instantly fell.
She didn't know what to say, so she said nothing, just leaned against the man's broad chest, crying her heart out.
She felt so wronged, thinking she would never escape that small room, thinking she had undergone the breast augmentation surgery. But now, her body was intact, no surgery had been done, absolutely not.
She felt like she had been reborn, given a second chance at life.
She lay in the man's arms, her tears and snot soaking his shirt.
She stayed in his embrace for a good two minutes before slowly coming to her senses, realizing that this might be inappropriate. She and he shouldn't be this close.
But Jack didn't push her away.
Feeling a bit awkward, she let go and pulled away from his embrace, feeling a twinge of loss in her heart.
