Chapter 69 Pear Blossoms in the Rain
"Aidan, please don't cry. I won't let you down," Aidan said, looking at Alison's tear-streaked face. He just wanted to take care of her, even though he had never thought about marrying her. This feeling was something he had never experienced with any other woman.
Alison shook her head gently, a bitter smile on her face. Her body had already belonged to two men.
"Mr. President, if possible, please forget everything that happened last night. Pretend it never happened." With that, she staggered towards the door. She didn't want to stay in this room for another second; she was on the verge of breaking down.
"What? What did you say?" Aidan was stunned. Was Alison telling him she didn't need him to take responsibility for what happened last night? That was her first time! Looking at the dried blood on the bed, he genuinely wanted to take responsibility for her.
Without turning back, Alison said in a low voice as she walked, "I don't need you to take responsibility. Just treat it as a dream. When you wake up, nothing is left."
Aidan was completely flustered. It seemed Alison had no feelings for him.
Ignoring his leg injury, he quickly got out of bed and tightly hugged Alison from behind. "Alison, don't go..."
Alison struggled hard, prying Aidan's fingers off one by one. "Please forget..." she said, then quickly ran out of Aidan's room.
Tears still streamed down her face.
The pain in her heart left her at a loss.
She ran back to her room with her phone, trying desperately to recall what had happened last night.
But she couldn't remember anything.
Her mind was filled with fragmented images of intimacy between a man and a woman, but nothing else.
Her head hurt more and more, as if it was about to split open.
When she pushed open the door, she was shocked to find that she hadn't even locked it when she left last night. Oh my God, her luggage, her passport...
Alison forgot about the pain in her body and quickly ran into the room.
The soft carpet under her feet led her silently into the room.
The morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, warmly illuminating everything in the room.
Alison saw two people lying on her bed—Jack and Aimée.
At that moment, Jack's leg was draped over Aimée's, and his arm was around her waist. The two of them were naked, tightly embracing each other in sleep, not even covered by a blanket.
Aimée slept peacefully, a satisfied smile on her lips.
The sheets and blankets were in disarray, and the air was filled with a faint scent of lovemaking.
Alison stared blankly at the scene on the bed, unable to believe this was her own bed.
But the familiar luggage in the corner clearly told her this was indeed her room.
She knew Jack was a playboy, always with a different woman, but she had never seen him so intimate with another woman.
And now, seeing him with another woman for the first time, her heart truly shattered, the pain making it hard to breathe.
She didn't even realize she should avoid such a scene, just stood there dumbly, staring at Jack...
The door opened, and Aidan wheeled himself in, "Alison, I'm sorry, please don't..."
He stopped mid-sentence, stunned by the scene before him. But then he relaxed, because it was Jack on the bed, and that was no big deal.
Everyone knew Jack was that kind of man.
The two people on the bed were awakened by Aidan's voice and looked towards the source of the sound, immediately seeing Alison wrapped in a bedsheet.
Aimée's first reaction was to pull the sheet over her body, a blush spreading across her face. "Jack, you..."
"Second brother, please leave," Jack said nonchalantly. He and Aimée were in love, and that was perfectly natural.
"Alright, I'll come back later," Aidan said, realizing it wasn't the right time to face Aimée. He glanced at Alison and added, "Alison, you should leave too." But Alison just stood there, staring blankly at the naked Jack.
Maybe she was scared, but Aidan really didn't want her eyes on Jack.
It wasn't until Aidan spoke again that Alison snapped out of it. She backed away in a panic, her fingers twisting the bedsheet around her. Seeing Jack with another woman on her bed was so painful.
Jack, however, didn't feel embarrassed at all. As a man, he didn't mind his "private parts" being seen. He picked up his shirt from the floor and teased, "Alison, how long do you plan to stare at me?"
Alison's face turned red instantly. "You..." She quickly turned around, unable to say a word.
"What about me?" Jack said with a smile. He had known it was Aimée when he got into bed last night, but he was puzzled about why they were in Alison's room, on Alison's bed. As he dressed, he tried to recall, but all he remembered was feeling unbearably hot and wanting...
"Please leave." This was her room, and she had the right to kick them out.
"Don't worry, we'll leave as soon as we're dressed. Aimée, come here..." Jack said cheerfully after getting dressed. When he looked at Aimée, he finally noticed the red stain on the sheet. "Aimée, so you were..."
Aimée blushed, "Jack, don't say it..."
"Alright, I understand..." Jack wrapped his arm around Aimée's waist and swaggered out of the room with her. For some reason, seeing the pained expression on Alison's face gave him a sense of satisfaction, as if Alison's pain meant Emily's pain too. But he didn't stop to think about why Alison was in pain.
The two of them left Alison's room, close and intimate, like a loving couple.
Alison smiled bitterly. She and Jack were never meant to be.
Her tears had dried up, and she no longer cried. It wasn't worth it, not for a playboy like him.
"Jack, you're so bad..." Aimée's cheerful voice echoed in her ears, sounding both mocking and piercing.
Alison slammed the door shut. She didn't want to think about what had happened last night or how Jack and Aimée ended up in her room. Every time she thought about it, her heart hurt even more.
She locked the door repeatedly, as if not doing so would allow someone to break in at any moment.
The bedsheet slipped off her shoulders, leaving her naked, feeling both painful and dirty.
In the bathroom, she desperately scrubbed her body, but the red marks, especially on her chest and neck, remained clearly visible.
Thinking about Aidan's roughness last night, her body still ached.
The warm water couldn't wash away the pain.
She kept washing and scrubbing until her skin turned red, but she couldn't stop.
The phone in the room rang, but she didn't want to answer it. She just wanted to soak in the water and cleanse herself.
However, the more she washed, the dirtier she felt.
She had been with two men, and she couldn't forgive herself for that.
The phone kept ringing, followed by a knock on the door.
The noise drove her crazy.
"Alison, open the door, please open the door, don't scare me." Aidan's anxious and fearful voice came from outside.
Did he think something had happened to me? Impossible. I didn't die three years ago, and now, as a mother of two, I wouldn't take my own life.
I dried myself off and walked out of the bathroom. The door was still being knocked on, and Aidan was still calling out.
"Alison, if you don't open the door, I'll call security to break it down," he shouted.
I took a deep breath, then another, telling myself that I could get through this. As long as it wasn't my fault, as long as I didn't do it on purpose, it would be okay.
I composed myself, opened the door, and saw Aidan sitting in his wheelchair, looking anxious.
Jack wasn't outside, probably with Aimée.
