Chapter 62 The Wishes of Two Little People

Chapter 62 The Wishes of Two Little People

As soon as Alison stepped out of the terminal, she spotted Jack in the crowd, hugging a girl whose face was hidden by his shoulder. Next to them stood a middle-aged woman. At that moment, Jack had already let go of the girl and was pushing a wheelchair while chatting with the woman.

The scene was so intimate, like a family reunion in a foreign land. Alison wondered, who could that woman be?

She stopped in her tracks, suddenly feeling out of place, like she shouldn't be there.

The girl naturally took Jack's hand, their arms swinging back and forth like a couple in love. The woman turned her head at their conversation, her voice gentle and kind, "Jack, when are we heading to the villa?"

"Mom, we need to ask my brother. I came here to have fun, but he got injured. Even though he's healed, he can't move around too much, so I'm helping him with some business."

So, that woman was Jack's mother! Alison stared at her, feeling rooted to the spot. She feared being recognized, knowing she was seen as an enemy by Jack's mom. Her face had once been a source of deep resentment...

Isabella smiled and asked Aidan, "Aidan, is that true?" She sounded more like she was doubting Jack than questioning Aidan.

Aidan quickly explained, "Aunt Isabella, it's my fault. I got injured at such a critical time. I had no choice but to ask Jack for help for a few days."

"Why didn't you bring another assistant? It's not right for Jack to handle this, especially since he's no longer..." Isabella trailed off, but Alison understood. Jack was no longer part of YD.

Alison listened quietly, not wanting to interrupt or join in the warm atmosphere. She worried her presence would alarm Isabella, given how much she resembled the person who had once hurt her son.

Aidan continued, "Aunt Isabella, I got injured just before leaving. Even if others wanted to come, there wasn't enough time. We had already scheduled meetings with clients here, involving billions of dollars. I couldn't let my absence cause any doubts."

Isabella's voice remained gentle but carried a hint of reproach, "Aidan, but Jack isn't part of YD. This could harm him." Clearly, she didn't like the arrangement.

Aidan reassured her, "Aunt Isabella, the chairman approved this. And I'm the one signing off on everything. If anything happens, it won't affect Jack. Don't worry."

Isabella said calmly, "Aidan, just this once. Never again. I don't want Jack involved in YD's affairs. My son doesn't need a penny from the Winston family to stand tall."

With that, the four of them split into two groups. Jack held Aimée Rolland's hand, while Isabella pushed Aidan's wheelchair, heading towards the airport exit.

Both men seemed to have forgotten about Alison, who had traveled to Paris with them. If they were back home, Alison would have turned around and left, never to speak to them again.

But now, Alison was pushing a cart loaded with their luggage. She couldn't just walk away.

As the large glass doors opened, Isabella and Aidan went out first. Suddenly, Jack seemed to remember something and turned around, spotting Alison not far behind.

"Why are you so slow?" Jack asked.

"Oh, you guys go ahead. I'll catch up," Alison replied.

"Give me that." Jack strode over to Alison and took the cart from her. "You get airsick and still try to tough it out."

Aimée looked at Alison curiously and asked, "Jack, who's she?"

"She's my future sister-in-law, my brother's girlfriend," Jack introduced.

Aimée's face lit up with a smile, "Hello, sister-in-law!"

"Hi..." Alison felt the term "sister-in-law" sounded odd but didn't bother to explain. After all, they were only staying in Paris for two weeks before heading back home, and explanations would only complicate things.

Aimée extended her hand to Alison, who politely shook it. Suddenly, a low voice called out from the half-open glass door, "Aimée, don't touch her!"

It was Isabella's voice. Alison looked over to see Isabella staring at her, expressionless.

Jack acted as if he hadn't heard Isabella, pulling Alison along with one hand while pushing the cart with the other.

"Jack, who is she?" Isabella asked directly, her eyes filled with a hatred that made Alison uneasy, as if she were the culprit from years ago.

But she wasn't.

Jack quickly explained, "Mom, you're mistaken. She's my brother's girlfriend, my future sister-in-law. Her name is Alison Fairchild, not who you're thinking of."

He was joking again. Alison had never agreed to marry Aidan, and Aidan wouldn't rush into such a decision either.

Isabella's expression softened a bit, her gaze at Alison still uncertain but less hostile. "Jack, are you saying she's not a Bruce?"

"Right, she's a Fairchild, not that woman." Jack turned to Alison and introduced in German, "This is my mom, and this is Aimée."

Alison, already aware, played along, "Hello, Isabella. Hello, Aimée. I'm Alison."

Her fluent German surprised Isabella, who then said nothing more and pushed Aidan's wheelchair towards the parking lot.

From the moment Alison appeared, everyone had become quieter, even skipping the usual pleasantries.

They sat silently in the car, admiring the Parisian scenery outside. Alison loved Paris, with its beauty and unique cultural atmosphere, making her feel like she was in a perfect, ancient world.

At the hotel, everyone took their room keys. Alison claimed she had a headache and went to her room first. Isabella said nothing, letting her go, then took Aidan to his room before heading to Jack's room with Aimée.

The rooms were arranged with Alison's in the middle, and Jack and Aidan's on either side.

Back in her room, Alison took a shower and lay comfortably on the bed. It felt so good! But she couldn't sleep yet; she needed to check in with her kids.

"Mommy, we've been waiting for your call! I knew you'd call tonight. Mommy, did you miss us?" the kids asked on the phone.

"Yes, I did," Alison replied.

"Mommy, don't worry about us. Have fun with Uncle Jack and don't forget to visit the Eiffel Tower to see the view of Paris! I heard it's amazing!" the kids said excitedly.

"Who taught you that new word, 'view'?" Alison asked curiously.

"It was my teacher! I told her you went to France, and she said to tell you to see the view from the Eiffel Tower!" Ethan said seriously.

Alison almost laughed, "Ethan, have you been behaving at school?"

"Yes, we were both very good today. We even got named class stars!" Ethan said proudly.

"Good job, Ethan. Mommy got airsick today and feels a bit dizzy. I'll tell you all about the local customs tomorrow," Alison said.

"Okay, Mommy, get some rest so you have energy to explore. Goodnight, Mommy!" Ethan said, winking at Sophia beside him.
