Jack Is Also There?
In the VIP room of the Maple Gold Crown, Alison and her children were enjoying a peaceful moment.
She seated Lyla and Tyler on the sofa, then she took a seat at the table with Sophia and Ethan.
Before long, the two large glasses of juice were served.
Tyler woke up.
Alison deftly picked up the baby, changed his diaper, and fed him some milk.
After he was full, he fell asleep in her arms.
The door to the private room suddenly opened.
Audrey walked in.
Ethan happily went to greet her.
Alison looked up at Audrey and frowned.
"Audrey, I’m so sorry to have gone to the trouble of asking you to come all the way here," Alison said politely.
“It’s okay. I’m just here to enjoy a free meal,” Audrey said with a smile.
"Audrey, help yourself. You can order a few more dishes,” Alison said.
“No need. I’ve never been picky,” Audrey replied.
Alison smiled faintly and gently laid the sleeping Tyler on the sofa.
Feeling the urge to pee, she got up and headed toward the restroom inside the private room.
“Sophia, are you done yet?”
“Not yet, Mommy,” Sophia called out.
Alison shook her head helplessly and turned to Audrey. "I'm leaving all four of them in your care. I’m just going to the public restroom for a moment. I’ll be right back.”
“Ma’am, take your time. No need to rush. I’ll take good care of them.”
Alison nodded, opened the door to the private room, and walked out.
THUD!
She bumped into someone as she turned the corner.
"Yukon?" she exclaimed in surprise.
"Ms. Fairchild?" Yukon, Jack’s new assistant, looked at her in astonishment.
"Why are you here?"
"Oh, I'm here for a high school reunion," Yukon said, scratching his head.
"Are any of girls here?"
"Yes...there are..."
“Then go enjoy the party. Just pretend you didn’t see me.” Alison said with a smile.
Then she walked past him toward the restroom.
Suddenly, she recalled the explanation Jack had given her before leaving.
If Jack couldn’t leave, shouldn't Yukon be tied up, too?
Never mind.
Maybe other company employees stayed behind to entertain the clients with Jack.
Alison walked into the restroom and closed the door.
Footsteps echoed outside the door.
“Jack is so handsome! Do you think there’s any chance we could get involved with him?” someone asked.
Alison’s heart skipped a beat.
"Well, I think it's possible. He’s been coming here a lot lately and asking for Gwendolyn to sit with him every time. He'd be interested in her. Maybe he'd been interested in you someday."
"Stop it; you're just teasing me."
"How could I be teasing you? You’re definitely just as good as Gwendolyn. As long as you put a little thought into it, you’ll definitely succeed.”
"Okay, I’ll give it a try tonight. You should help me create some opportunities.”
"No problem.”
The two women chatted as they walked out of the restroom.
Alison froze.
Is Jack also there?!
Her phone rang—it was Ethan calling.
“What’s up?” she picked up.
"Mommy, why aren’t you back yet? Did something happen?” Ethan asked, sounding worried.
“I’m fine. Are your brother and sister awake yet?” Alison asked in return.
“No, they’re still asleep.”
"Oh, I won't be back that soon. I might be a little late,” she explained.
"Okay, Mom. As long as you're okay, I'm relieved," he said before hanging up.
Alison stepped out of the restroom and walked briskly down the hallway.
Spotting the two girls' backs in the second corridor, she slowed her pace and followed them from a distance.
Soon, they pushed open the door to a private room and went inside.
