Chapter 344: Stealing His Soul
Gabriel fell into silence.
In truth, he was Jack.
The real Gabriel had been a fugitive — killed while trying to escape. Jack had assumed his identity to infiltrate the Polar Bear Alliance.
Clark had warned him not to see Alison, but he’d refused — he couldn’t give up being near her.
Gently raising her hand, Alison tiptoed up and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Gabriel, carry me back to the room. I need to check my phone to see when you called. Maybe I was at the mall,” she said softly.
His gaze mesmerized her, and she gently kissed his lips.
“Gabriel… Gabriel,” she murmured, her fingers slipping to undo the buttons of his shirt.
Startled by her sudden passion, Gabriel froze.
As she unbuttoned, the wet fabric slid away, revealing his sleek physique.
This was the first time she had ever studied him so intently. Beyond his face and hoarse voice, everything else felt familiar.
“Gabriel, hold me.” She wrapped her arms tightly around his waist.
“Alison, what’s wrong?” he asked, puzzled.
“Gabriel, I’ve fallen deeply in love with you. Please don’t leave me, okay?” She pleaded; the familiar sensation sent a shiver through her body.
Jack… I finally found you…
“I told you before — once you get involved with me, there’s no escaping.” Gabriel gently pinched her nose before sweeping her up in his arms.
He carried her into the room.
Alison clung tightly to his neck, wondering how many burdens he carried.
They fell onto the bed together.
“Gabriel, I need you.” She moaned, her voice trembling with longing.
She didn’t feel guilty anymore.
“Kitten, you’re bewitching me,” he murmured, gazing at her tenderly.
“Gabriel, I love you.” She smiled.
He gently stroked her long hair. A thousand words swirled in his heart, yet none came out.
He opened his mouth only to whisper, “Alison, I…”
“Shh. Close your eyes. Just give me.” She cut in.
Her soft voice made him close his eyes without hesitation.
Though darkness filled his vision, her small hands guided him, tracing a slow path across his body.
She kissed his forehead, his cheeks, then his chin.
She inhaled his familiar scent greedily; that unmistakable aroma told her he was Jack.
Closing her eyes, she relived every tender moment they’d shared.
Mimicking his former movements, she gently kissed his lips, tasting him with trembling restraint.
“I love you,” she murmured, kissing every inch of his skin.
“Alison, give yourself to me,” he whispered as he kissed back, their breaths mingling in the charged silence.
Finally, he drew her close, their bodies finding a perfect rhythm.
Their mingled breaths filled the quiet night, each exhale trembling between want and surrender.
That night, her soft cries mingled with his whispered name — a fevered harmony that lingered until dawn.
