Chapter 315: Is It That Master?
A nagging feeling lingered in Aidan’s mind — some unknown master had infiltrated YD.
Then he thought of Gabriel, the new recruit.
His heart tightened. Could Gabriel be the master?
When the car stopped, he led Alison into a styling center.
The stylist’s skilled hands worked swiftly, soon erasing the tear stains from her face and the red marks from his.
“Alison, let’s go.”
Aidan surveyed her with satisfaction — the stylist had artfully accentuated her best features, showcasing her beauty.
The car pulled into the garage of the Winston estate.
“Mommy, we’ve been here forever! Why did you take so long?”
As soon as Alison stepped out, Sophia and Ethan rushed over.
“Mom worked late today,” she explained with a smile.
“Godfather, will Mommy have to work overtime every day?” Sophia asked.
Aidan smiled awkwardly.
“No, Sophia, she won’t. There won’t be any overtime from now on,” he promised.
“You’re so nice!” Sophia happily hugged his leg, her face beaming with happiness.
“Mom, let’s go. That lady is here too. I saw her.” Ethan tilted his little face up and told Alison.
“Which auntie?” Alison’s heart skipped a beat.
Could it be… Aidan’s girlfriend? Or Rock’s?
“The auntie who looks exactly like you,” he replied.
It’s Emily.
Alison really didn’t want to see her. But Sophia and Ethan had already pulled her toward the hall.
Inside, soft music flowed — Rock was playing the piano.
How did Rock and Emily meet?
They seem close… but is that genuine?
Pushing open the glass doors, she entered the bustling ballroom.
Heads turned as she entered.
“Alison, you’re here.” The piano music abruptly stopped, and Rock turned to her.
“Yes, Rock.” Alison suppressed the turmoil within her and nodded lightly. “You’re also here.”
“Of course. Grandfather invited us,” Emily chimed in, laughing brightly.
Isabella sat on the sofa, casting a faint glance at Alison and Aidan.
Ignoring them, she stood and walked straight toward the kitchen.
Feeling awkward, Alison hesitated before saying, “Aunt Isabella, let me assist you.”
But Isabella replied coldly, “No need. You should keep the others company instead. Don’t leave them feeling neglected.”
“Aunt Isabella, Aidan just happened to be dropping me off on his way.” Alison smiled faintly.
“Don’t need to explain, and I have no right to demand anything of you. But in my presence, please behave yourself,” Isabella sneered.
“Isabella, what do you mean?” Alison retorted.
“You should take a good look at yourself in the mirror. You’re a mother, yet you’re still going around flirting with men.”
The bowl in her hand clattered to the floor with a loud crash, making everyone’s hearts skip a beat.
“Isabella, I’m single now. It’s my private life. You don’t have the right to say that. Goodbye.”
Alison was furious.
She dashed out of the living room, waving to Sophia and Ethan, who were leaning against the piano.
“Sophia, Ethan, let’s go home.”
Ignoring the entire Winston family, she was leaving.
“Alison, what’s wrong? Dinner will be ready soon. Let’s eat first,” Aidan persuaded.
“No, I have urgent business. We’ll come another day,” she insisted.
Alexander, who had remained silent, shot her a piercing look before glancing toward the kitchen.
“Alison, you can leave, but the children stay,” he chimed in.
It revealed his true feelings – — he only cared about his great-grandchildren.
Sophia and Ethan immediately rushed to Alexander, pleading, “Great-grandpa, you can’t let Mommy go! If she leaves, we’ll leave too!”
Alexander offered no reply, merely waving silently toward the doorway.
As the children protested, two burly nannies approached them.
Aidan shot Alison a warning glance, silently urging her not to antagonize Alexander.
He said, “Grandpa, Alison is genuinely worried about the goldfish at home. Why don’t I call the housekeeper to feed them? Then she can stay for dinner.”
