Chapter 313: Can’t Wait (Part 2)
“Alison, have you forgotten Jack?” Aidan murmured.
“No, I haven’t,” Alison replied.
“Are you sure?” he pressed, and a hint of mockery flashed in his eyes.
“I haven’t, Aidan.”
“Let me see…” His lips slowly drew nearer as he murmured.
Alison’s eyes widened as he approached.
His arms were like iron walls on either side of her, leaving her no way out.
His lips finally touched hers, bearing the weight of his fury.
Aidan was truly furious, regretting ever indulging her — allowing her to dine with another man, even that ex-convict.
“Aidan, no, please don’t.” She cried out, but his wild kiss drowned out her voice.
He had been waiting for this moment for a long time — his only desire now was to possess her.
“Alison, if you want a man, it has to be me. I won’t let any other man touch you,” he murmured between kisses.
His tongue tried to part hers as his large hands clamped tightly around her waist.
Alison could think of only one desperate measure: lifting her knee.
Aidan, I’m sorry.
Just as she prepared to act, the elevator abruptly stopped.
They were on the tenth floor of the building.
She exhaled a relieved breath when the doors opened.
“Aidan, you’re a bastard!” She stared at him steadily, slapping his cheek.
The sharp crack echoed through the elevator.
For a split second, her mind went blank.
When her clarity returned, she expected Aidan to lash out in fury, but he didn’t.
He just dashed out without a second glance at her.
She instinctively followed him out.
Aidan burst out of the executive elevator and sprinted toward the regular elevators like a madman.
“Get out of the way!” he barked, waving his arms.
People parted before him, clearing a path that swiftly carried him to the doors of the regular elevator.
“Ding…” The elevator doors slid open.
“Get out!” he roared.
They dashed out one after another.
Aidan spun on his heel and stepped into the elevator.
His face was ashen, and his breathing was slightly ragged — she had never seen him this out of control before.
Now, only the two of them remained in the elevator.
“What happened?”
“Where are you going?”
She asked him urgently.
But he stood like a puppet, ignoring her.
Finally, the elevator reached the lowest floor.
He strode out.
“Aidan, what’s wrong?” she shouted.
His footsteps halted, but continued soon after.
Alison could only follow him.
“Aidan, I’m sorry,” she said to his back.
Finally, he stopped in front of a small door.
His hand trembled as he fished a set of keys from his pocket.
Unlocking it, inside was a tiny space — it contained a monitor, displaying the executive elevator they had just left.
Alison suddenly understood why Aidan had rushed here.
The elevator’s stop hadn’t been a coincidence — someone had deliberately caused it.
He hurriedly scanned the small room, then grabbed her arm and pulled her out.
“Aidan, who did this?” she asked nervously.
“No, impossible. This absolutely can’t be,” he muttered to himself as he pulled out his phone to call for a fingerprint analysis.
After he finished the call, she asked anxiously, “Aidan, tell me, okay?”
But he only shook his head and remained silent, seemingly still angry over her earlier slap.
“You’re just being too sensitive. There’s nothing between Gabriel and me. You know, he just looks like him — his eyes, his silhouette, and…” she murmured.
“What did you say? You said Gabriel looks like Jack?” He suddenly grabbed her collar in agitation.
Alison nodded at first, but then shook her head.
“Maybe I just missed Jack too much.” She changed her words on the spot.
His attitude toward her had already left her feeling uneasy.
