Chapter 216: One More Chance to Leave

Chapter 216: One More Chance to Leave
“Jack, let her go,” Colton growled, his voice thick with resentment.

He finished the bottle of liquor in his hand and continued, “I’ll pay you back every penny. Just let Alison go.”

Jack sneered coldly across the table. “No.”

“I said, let her go!” Colton roared, his drunken eyes fixed on Jack.

“No. Alison is mine.” Jack stood up, refusing to back down.

At that moment, Alison spotted Colton and Jack sitting across from each other.

Her heart clenched. What are they talking about?

She hadn’t told Jack about borrowing 1.2 million dollars for Colton. Yet Colton knew the money came from Jack.

As she sang, she kept glancing toward the two men, sensing a fire burning between them. It sent a wave of panic through her, making her want to rush there.

However, the music kept playing, and she couldn’t stop singing.

She could only hope this wouldn’t explode in front of everyone.

“Jack, let’s talk outside,” Colton growled. He truly doubted Jack could make her happy.

Jack pushed Colton’s hand away and sneered, “No.”

“Stop!” Colton yelled, slamming the bottle down on the table.

The noise drew the attention of everyone around them.

Jack ignored him, continuing toward the stage.

“Stop, Jack, I won’t let you win,” Colton roared, desperate to win Alison back.

He longed for things to go back to the way they were, but each time, she rejected him without mercy.

Jack abruptly turned, his piercing gaze fixed on Colton. He declared, “I love her, and she loves me.”

“You…” Colton swung a punch at Jack.

Jack dodged and strode toward the stage. He was determined to leave with Alison once she finished her song.

His plan for discretion failed — Colton’s outburst had drawn every eye in the club.

Seeing Jack walk close, Alison sighed in relief.

He stood not far from her, smiling.

Finally, the song ended. Without waiting for the applause to die down, she bowed and left the stage.

Jack smiled, pulled out his phone, and quickly typed before heading toward the Rebel entrance.

[I’ll wait for you outside.]

Reading the text, Alison hurriedly changed clothes and rushed out, only to see Colton and Jack disappear one after the other through the entrance.

A wave of panic washed over her. She chased after them.

“Miss Bruce, your taxi is ready at the back door,” a Rebel waiter called out as she ran out.

“Oh, send it away. I don’t need it anymore, thank you.” All she wanted now was to catch up with Jack and Colton.

“Miss Bruce, is something wrong? Should I tell Liam?” the waiter asked, concerned.

“No, thank you.” She grabbed her handbag and hurried off.

Along the way, she kept running into regulars, forcing her to greet them. By the time she stepped out of Rebel, Colton and Jack were nowhere to be seen.

[Jack, where are you?]

She typed, feeling uneasy.

There was no reply.

Alison hurried down the street, scanning the area.

Seeing that Jack hadn’t replied, Alison sent Colton another text: [Colton, where are you now?]

There was still no reply, and her subsequent calls went unanswered.

The surroundings were quiet.

Alison spun around and hurried off in the opposite direction. The click-clack of her high heels against the pavement made her heart race faster.

Suddenly, she heard a dull thud, followed by a low curse. “Let Alison go, or I won’t let you off the hook.”

“What are you to her?” another voice demanded.

“Her boyfriend,” Colton answered without hesitation.

Alison shouted, “Stop!”

“No! I must teach this scoundrel a lesson!” Jack declared, swinging a punch at Colton.

The blow landed squarely on Colton’s chest, sending him stumbling backward.

He collided with Alison as he retreated. “Alison, tell him I’m the one you love.”

“Colton, you’re drunk. Let me take you home.” The thought of that little cottage made her heart grow heavy. He was still trapped in dreams of the past, while she had already let it go.

“You love me, right? Alison.” Colton asked wildly, his eyes lit with desperate hope.

“Colton, I…”
