Chapter 15

Alpha Erick’s POV:

The vampire moves closer. I step toward him. I want to know why Kate sprung him from the pack jail and what his part is in all of this. I know she wanted to help and was concerned about him. I also know she needed him to get Liam out of the realm, but she did not really explain why. She only said he had powers. I wonder if his powers are like Kate's and Belle's. If he is family to them, it is possible that he is powerful.

"What do you want, vampire?" I growl at him. I want answers, but for now, I only want to know why he is here; the rest can wait until Kate and Belle are safely away from Raven.

"I only want to help Kate and Belle. We came together here to retrieve Belle from Raven. I can help. I want to help, Alpha Erick," the vampire hisses.

He moves awkwardly. I can hear Belle speaking as the vampire hisses in the direction of Tone, John, Bryan, and myself. The three wolves return his hissing with growls. I wonder if he knows what is going in the cabin with Belle and why Raven brought her here.

"What is she saying?" I ask the vampire.

The vampire looks at me strangely again. He straightens his body. "I have a name, you know. It is Jason," he says.

I roll my eyes and growl a deep growl at him and lean toward him. "Okay, Jason, what the hell is my daughter saying in there? Why are they in there in the first place?" I growl louder.

Jason leans forward. He moves quickly toward the house, listens for a moment, and then moves quickly back to the place we are waiting. Ralph is standing by the door but pays no attention to Jason as he moves around the cabin quickly. What the hell is going on with Ralph?

"I do not understand. Belle and Kate are both summoning the realm. We talked about this. It is dangerous. They could be trapped in there with Liam if they are not careful. They need my help to pull him out safely," Jason says.

"She is going to pull Liam out and kill him. She wants to shut the realm down. She thought you could help her do that. Can you help her, or are you trying to trap her in there? I need to know what side you are on," I say.

"I can, but first, I have to get into that house without Raven killing me. Can you help me get into the house? I can help, Alpha Erick. You have to trust me," Jason says.

I look over at the wolves with me. "We will protect you if you protect my wife and child. I need your word that Kate and Belle come out of this alive," I say.

Jason nods his head. "Deal, be ready," Jason says. He smiles at me and takes off. He moves at a speed quicker than most vampires I have seen.

Jason flies quickly to the house. The wolves and I take our wolf form and rush behind him to Isabella's old cabin. Jason burst through the door. Ralph is standing at the door, not moving. He looks at me, takes his wolf form but still is not able to get into the house.

I am able to move through the doorway with Jason. Jason pulls me in with him forcefully, much to Raven's surprise. It is an Imperial block. Raven rushes toward us, but Jason takes him down quickly. "Die, you traitor!" Jason hisses at him and bites into Raven. Raven screams out in pain.

I have to wonder how Jason knew so much about Raven. Did he know already or discover what was going on when he got here? How does he fit into all of this with Kate and Belle? I honestly hoped Raven was not a traitor. Meaghan will be devastated.

"Get off of me, you cold-blooded freak!" Raven screams at Jason, taking his wolf form as Jason tries to kill him. The two begin fighting, biting, growling, and hissing at one another.

I circle Belle and Kate as they hum and speak in a language I am not familiar with at all. I have not heard Imperials or any wolves say words like this. The humming—I have listened to Raven humming like this. I want to know Raven's role in all of this and why he turned on Kate? I will never get to ask him if Jason kills him, but maybe Kate and Belle will have the answers.

Belle opens her eyes. She looks at me. "You should not be here, daddy," she says. She raises her hand and sends me out of the cabin. The door slams shut, leaving Jason inside with Raven, Belle, and Kate.

Ralph is still standing at the door. He is not speaking, only staring into space like he has seen a ghost or something terrible happened to him. "Ralph, are you alright?" I ask him. Ralph does not answer. He continues to stand still. Did Belle do this to him?

Tone returns to his human form and helps Ralph away from the cabin. The two walk to the tree line and out of sight. What the hell did they do to him? I walk around the side of the house and find a window I can look into to see what is happening.

Bryan and John join me at the window. "Where is Jeremy?" I ask. I had not noticed that he was missing since we got here. Bryan and John look around, and that is when we see him running toward the house. Raven opens the door and lets him inside.

Raven and Jeremy grab Jason, pushing him into Belle and Kate's circle that they are speaking and humming around. Now Jason is trapped in the middle with nowhere to go and nowhere to run. He screams out in pain as the circle begins to ignite with flames. Jason is burning as the circle of fire engulfs him.

I can see Liam emerging from the center of the circle. He is coming out of the spiritual realm. They did it. They pulled him out of the realm. As Liam arrives at the surface, he sees Raven and Jeremy. He begins to scream as he passes through Jason into this world. Jason is the doorway to pull him out of the realm.

They needed Jason to pull him out of the realm. Jason knew it and sacrificed himself to save them. Jason is more heroic than I knew. Raven grabs a stake to put it through Liam. Raven grabs Liam by his shoulder and shoves a stake through his chest, sending him back into the realm, but not as a vampire now he is dead. At least, Liam is no longer a problem. Now we have to deal with Raven and Jeremy.

Jason falls to the floor, not moving. Belle and Kate come back to themselves. She looks at Jason and begins to weep. She lays over his body, crying. Raven rushes toward Kate, but Belle raises her hand and throws him out of the house.

"Grab him!" I growl at John. John runs around the side of the house as I continue to watch through the window. Kate holds Jason's body, and Belle turns her attention to Jeremy. She is going to kill him.

"Belle, NO!" I scream. I do not want my child to kill anyone. That is not a burden she should carry at such a young age. Belle looks at me, raises her hand, and tosses Jeremy out of the house.

Jeremy is out cold. I run around and grab him. I look into the doorway and see Kate and Belle. Kate is holding Jason, and Belle is standing over them. She looks at me and smiles strangely.

"Help me!" Kate screams out.
