Chapter 96 He came?

Chapter 96 He came?
ANGELICA'S POV

“Why did you ask him to kneel if you were going to stand near the window and watch with that worrisome expression on your face rather than resting?” Alchemist asked me as I stood on the balcony of my room and watched Dylan and Ericson kneel on the ground.

Dylan said he was equally at fault for what happened, and thus, he should be kneeling there, too.

I didn't stop.

It was like I had accepted their apology and forgiven them long ago, but for some reason, I wanted to see if they would go that far to keep me happy.

The reason was both childish and selfish, and I would've smacked my own head for doing something like this, especially when Ericson and Dylan were wounded from the war. Still, I didn't stop myself, just like they didn't stop themselves from following Felicia's manipulation.

The Luna ceremony commenced a few hours ago when we shared the blood. I was officially a member of this pack and their Luna.

It took me some time to get used to the many voices in my head and the congratulatory wishes before I put the mind barrier up with the help of the alphas.

My mom and dad were also there to help me, but they left shortly. They said they would be back with the necessary things since my mom was planning to stay in this pack to take care of me during my pregnancy.

I thought the pack members would blame me for how I was treating their alphas, but, strangely, they were on my side.

Maggie and Tiara even came to tell me I was doing the right thing. The elder she-wolves even praised me for keeping the alphas in their places.

It was awkward seeing the pack members treat their own alphas like this. I even felt a little bad, but then they explained to me how sacred a mate bond was, and they disrespected it.

I looked at Alchemist. I honestly had no explanation for what I was doing.

“How are they taking the news?” I asked the mage.

I am sure he already told the witches about my pregnancy with the werewolves and that I might not be fit to take over the throne for the next few years.

“They are skeptical. But it's not something we can't handle. The witches aren't the target, you know,” Alchemist said.

I nodded in understanding. They weren't the target; I was.

“Can you provide me with all the information about the Demon King and his family, not one emotion and incident excluded?” I asked Alchemist.

Since he was sure the demon king would come for me next, now more than ever, because I was pregnant, it was better that I stay prepared for what was coming.

“I can do that. Give me some time. I'll have to check with the resources. Also, in the meantime, I want you to talk to the alphas about allowing one lady witch around you all the time,” he said.

I was about to dismiss his words when he started again.

“I know the wolves would take care of you. Nobody doubts that. But you are a witch in the end. No one can help you the way a witch can. Cecilia must be agreeing too,” he said.

I tried to concentrate on Cecilia to ask if she was in favor of this decision. When she agreed, I was left with no choice and sighed.

“Okay. I'll talk to them,” I said, and the mage nodded at me before disappearing into thin air.

I walked back to the balcony to look at the alphas kneeling on the ground.

Should I call them inside? I asked myself and was about to walk away when the sound of thundering echoed, shaking me.

I looked up at the sky as dark clouds suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

The needle-like raindrops started pouring heavily.

My gaze shifted to the alphas who I thought would stand and come under the beam at least.

However, to my surprise, they didn't budge from their place.

I bit my lower lip. They were seriously losing their minds.

I turned to walk downstairs when I heard some commotion. When I looked out again, I noticed all the soldiers, including Zishan, Alen, Harris, Sean, and Chris, stepped out and knelt behind their alphas.

I shook my head at their dedication and walked downstairs before opening the doors.

Dylan and Ericson were looking down, but the moment they felt my presence, they looked up, or at least tried to, with all that rain.

“Aren't you getting up?” I asked.

“Aren't you going to forgive us, like for real?” Dylan asked.

“And what the hell are you guys doing?” I asked the rest of them.

“We are helping our alphas gain forgiveness quicker. The more the merrier,” Alen said with a cheeky grin, and I barely fought the smile off my face.

They knew exactly what they were doing.

I sighed, placing my hands on my waist.

“Your wounds will get infected. Have you forgotten you guys need to heal?” I asked.

“That's not the answer to our question,” Ericson said.

I glared at the man.

“For the alphas the world fears, you guys are quite dumb and adamant,” I said.

“If that gains us your love, there's nothing wrong in that,” he fired back.

I looked at his form, which was starting to shiver, but the man wasn't budging from his place and sighed.

“You guys know I can't stay mad at you for long. That's why you act like this, no? Come on in, you sneaky fools. I forgive you, for real. And you guys too, return to your houses and change,” I said, making all of them nod, not before they all yelled in happiness to show their victory, making me chuckle.

Ericson stood immediately and rushed to hug me.

However, before he could even touch me, Dylan held him back by the shirt, making Ericson growl impatiently.

“We are wet. You will make her sick. She is pregnant now,” Dylan scolded Ericson, who scowled but bobbed his head in understanding nonetheless.

I saw the two men rush to their room to take a shower and get changed quickly.

I shook my head and walked to the kitchen to grab the leftovers from the food Ericson had prepared.

Now that I am pregnant, I feel like I am getting hungry more often.

I poured the pasta into the bowl to heat it and was about to put it in the microwave when I felt it.

The hair on my neck stood on end as my heart skipped a beat, a weird pang shooting in my chest.

I quickly placed my hand on the counter to support myself before turning around.

The lights immediately went off. It was so dark that I could barely see anything. However, even after that, I knew someone was standing in the hall.

He was standing there and watching me, his gaze not moving away from where I was standing, even for a second.

I swallowed hard, my heart drumming against my chest.

I opened my mouth to call for Dylan and Ericson.

I tried, not once or twice but five times, to scream at the top of my lungs, but no matter how hard I tried, no voice came out of my mouth.

The lightning reflected on the window of the hall, and I was finally able to get a glimpse of the man standing in the hall.

He was not a man. That was the first thing that came to mind.

He was dressed like royalty, but the crown he wore was made of bones. His clothes were dripping, and it wasn't water.

I couldn't see his face, but something told me it was for the better.

I gasped loudly when the man raised his hand and pointed straight to my abdomen. My motherly instincts kicked in, and I quickly covered my abdomen with my hands.

"Hm." The man's cold, deep voice almost sounded like he was scoffing at my actions.

My body started to tremble despite my powers, and I immediately knew this man was far more powerful than anything I could ever imagine.

“D… D… Dylan!” I finally screamed.

“Dylan!” I screamed until dark spots started dancing into my vision.

Nobody came to save me. The man before me laughed, as if he could read exactly what I was thinking.

“No one can save you from me, just like they couldn’t save your siblings. Not now, not ever,” the man said before he started nearing me.

“No. Don’t come near me. NO!” I screamed, and that was the last thing I remembered before losing my consciousness for the second time on the same day.
