Chapter 85 It's do or die

Chapter 85 It's do or die
ANGELICA'S POV

“Are you ready to do it?” Alchemist looked at me to get my final approval.

It had been four days since I had been training day in and out, working harder than ever to get myself skilled enough to take Jarvin down.

I had taken combat training from my stepfather and even practiced regularly, but it was nothing compared to what Alchemist made me go through.

For three days straight, even getting out of bed felt like a chore. Sleep became a necessity to give my body enough time to heal.

Every time I woke up from sleep, my body felt like it had rested for a few minutes only. There were hours when I was drifting in and out of consciousness.

Alchemist told me it was my powers trying to communicate their magna to me without scaring me. I doubted it was the reason, but it wasn't like I had a better explanation.

We were standing before Jarvin's base that Alchemist had found on day one. I had been approaching this base in my free time, watching it to understand the dynamics, architecture, and layout of its entrance and exit.

“I won’t show up until it’s a dire situation and you are on the verge of dying,” Alchemist warned me.

I nodded in confirmation.

“It's a do-or-die situation. While I'll be in that room, make it soundproof and lock it so no one else enters or Jarvin doesn't run away,” I said.

Alchemist bobbed his head one last time before clicking his fingers.

I felt a swoosh of wind around me, a clear indication that he was teleporting me somewhere.

As soon as I opened my eyes, I was standing inside a bedroom, Jarvin's bedroom.

The sound of water running in the bathroom indicated the man was inside.

The sound of the doorknob turning made me look toward the bathroom door, and the man walked forward, a towel over his head, ruffling his hair.

It was as if he felt someone was in the room apart from him; he removed the towel from his head, his blue eyes meeting mine for a brief second before he shook his head.

“Am I seriously imagining her now?” He muttered under his breath.

The fact that this psycho, who made my life a living hell all because I helped him once and he thought it was a good idea to marry me, was thinking about me even for a second made me want to gag.

“You are not imagining me,” I said to catch his attention.

The man froze in his place.

He turned around slowly, looking at me more carefully now.

“Angelica Royal?”

“One and only.” I tilted my head.

He narrowed his eyes and looked at the door.

“What are you doing here? Was it one of my teammates who found you? No wait. Don't tell me you came to me yourself. What happened? Done playing with the animals?” He asked me with his confident smirk.

I looked at his tattooed chest, flexing with his biceps as he wore his shirt.

The man was too carefree. Not even for a second did he consider me a threat to his life.

“I am here to end this.” I walked to the window and looked outside to see if Alchemist made the necessary arrangements.

“End this?” Jarvin arched his brows.

I saw him putting his vintage watch on his sleeve, the one I knew had a hidden weapon inside, and it was my time to smile now.

“End this game of cat and mouse with you. I am here to kill you, Morocco,” I declared.

The man didn't react for a few seconds, then, as if I'd cracked some kind of joke, he started chuckling loudly.

The fact that he didn't take me seriously made something inside me ignite with rage.

“When I said I am here to kill you, the last thing you should’ve done was laugh. You never know what kind of psycho you are dealing with, Morocco.” I moved my fingers across the mattress while walking towards him.

Jarvin chuckled again, his gaze not leaving my movements even for a second.

“You want me to believe a person who never killed a rat is going to kill me?” He asked.

I didn't say anything for a few seconds.

I just clicked my fingers.

The room became dark.

“What the—?” Jarvin looked around, shocked.

“Somebody check the lights?! What the hell is going on?!” Jarvin roared, irritated.

It was my time to smirk now.

‘Make it dark. Make it painful. Memorable and something worth looking at.’ A voice inside my head appeared out of nowhere.

The dark thoughts increasing in my head, how I could murder him, and how brutal I could get with my powers made me shake my head to come out of that zone.

I clicked my fingers again, and the lights were back on.

Jarvin opened his mouth to speak again when I clicked my fingers again. The lights went off.

I repeated the process a couple of times until Jarvin finally realized it wasn't a technical glitch.

The person responsible for it was standing right before him.

“H-how are you doing it?” He stuttered.

For the first time in my life of knowing the man, he stuttered. His confidence was wavering, and the thought alone gave me immense satisfaction.

“It's just the beginning, Jarvin. You have no idea what I have in mind for you,” I whispered before I asked him if he knew why no one arrived despite his shouting.

Jarvin's gaze flickered to the door again, and he realized it wasn't just locked from inside. There was a thick layer of another wall inside the entire room.

I saw how the man's hand reached for his dagger, which he always kept in his pants.

I let him throw the dagger at me. Just as the dagger was about to reach me, I raised my hand.

The dagger stopped in mid-air, and Jarvin's pupils dilated.

He looked at me, shocked.

“W-what are you?” He finally asked the question I had been waiting for.

I chuckled.

“I thought you would never ask. You took your time realizing what's going on here,” I said before I clicked my fingers.

Honestly, I wasted my time learning physical combat.

Seeing the shock on his face while I used my powers to deal with him was much more satisfying.

And that was exactly what I was going to do.

I moved my fingers, the dagger moving at my signal.

I raised my hand with a jerk and then pulled it down with force. The dagger sliced the man's left cheek, and he cursed out loud before touching his cheek.

I saw red liquid dripping down his face, and my smile widened.

“Have you guessed who I am yet?” I asked.

The man swallowed hard, his eyes dark as he breathed heavily, probably to control his fear.

By now, his heart and mind must have realized I wasn't joking when I said I was here to kill him.

“You are a witch!” He seethed.

I shook my head

“I am a fucking mage, stronger than any witch ever could be.” I laughed out loud before I raised both of my hands in the air.

“shumohen!” I shouted with a laugh.

The dagger suddenly began multiplying midair, and soon 100 daggers floated in the air.

I saw the fear in Jarvin's eyes, the same fear I used to have whenever I faced him, thinking it would be my last day because there was no way I was going to let him have his way with me.

“No. You can't do this to me. I loved you, Angel. Believe me or not, but there's been nothing that I haven't done to get you. My love for you was real. Trust me. I never wanted to hurt you,” Jarvin pleaded when he realized what I was going to do.

I walked to where the man was standing and grabbed his chin between my fingers and thumb.

“I begged you too, Jarvin. I cried and pleaded for mercy. God forbid I beg for your death, Jarvin. I never knew I would be the one giving that death to you. And let me tell you, Morocco,” I grinned.

“It's fucking insane. This feeling of having this power over you is majestic, and I am not trading it for anything,” I said.

Jarvin shook his head.

“No. You cannot do this. Remember you were the one who saved me—” Jarvin started again, but I didn’t want to waste any more time on him.

I left his chin and turned around.

“You bitch!” The man shouted behind me as soon as I started to walk towards the window again.

I smiled. I knew he would attack. All this love pretense comes to an end when the fear of life strikes.

“Sulmojnë,” I ordered, and as soon as I said that, the sound of those hundred blades striking something together echoed in a second.

The splashes of something wet on my back were a clear indication of what it was, and I closed my eyes.

“Y-you,” was the only word that he could say as his body fell to the ground, making it worse as the daggers went deeper into his body.

I looked at his body, the body of my tormentor for so many years, and sat before him.

I looked at the blood on my hands as I removed the dagger from his heart before plunging it inside again.

Something twisted inside me, and I smiled.

“Angelica!” Alchemist's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

I turned to the mage, who rushed to my side and placed what looked like some herbs before my nose.

“What is this—?” I tried speaking, but the moment I smelled those herbs, my vision darkened, and I fell unconscious.
