Chapter 80 Beyond Bearable

Chapter 80 Beyond Bearable
ANGELICA'S POV

“You need to eat something, Führerin.” Alchemist slid the plate of food towards me.

I looked at the food, my entire being repulsed by it, not because it wasn't what I liked but because my insides were screaming in utter pain and heartache.

I shook my head at him, making the man sigh before he stood from his place and waved his hand in the sky.

“You are not eating because their negligence hurts you, and you still hope that they will come and get you once they know you are gone. Right? Though you are hurt, you still hope for them to come,” Alchemist said.

I looked down at my hands, ashamed because that was the truth.

The last time I had gone out of the pack because I misunderstood them and thought they were using me to get back to my stepfather, they had looked for me and done everything to find me.

Thus, I was hoping that once they realize their mistake, they'll come looking for me.

They might've boldly said how much they loved me and how much this bond meant to them because of their species, but in reality, though I don't express it as much, I love them more than I love myself.

I thought I wouldn't bow to anyone, but I did. My determination was strong when I left, but it has been only an hour, and I miss them terribly, now more than ever, since things are not good between us.

I was ready to swallow my pride and welcome them with open arms if they just realized they were wrong and would hear me out, too.

“See for yourself if they really care about your absence.” Alchemist’s words interrupted my thoughts, and I looked at the floating translucent screen that he created with his magic.

My heart skipped a beat, and I clasped my hands on my lap, waiting patiently before they appeared on the screen.

“Was that really necessary?” Dylan asked Ericson.

“I didn't expect myself to get that angry either, brother. But you saw what she did to Felicia. As wrong as it was, I think she deserved it, too. She is a human after all. Maybe the sudden power got to her head.”

Ericson’s words were like daggers that pierced my heart.

Something clenched painfully in my chest, fresh tears rolling down my cheeks as I looked at the man on the screen in disbelief.

“No. He wouldn't say it. He doesn't think like that. Something is wrong. He loves me, Alchemist,” I looked at Alchemist, who stood there, unmoving and silent.

I looked back at the screen and noticed how Dylan exhaled sharply.

I had hopes in him. He was the calm and reasonable one. At least he would take my side. Not before me, but at least before others, right?

“She isn't in her room. I think she has left,” Dylan said, and my heart skipped a beat, new hope illuminating inside me.

I knew he cared about me.

“And?” Ericson asked, his voice cold and detached.

“I think she has gone to her parents. It's good. She can use this time to realize how much we care about her, but she is not above all. If she messes with our sister, she is messing with us. We won't allow anyone to harm Felicia, even if it means we will have to break this bond. Let her learn a bit more about pack dynamics before she messes up again,” Dylan said.

If she messes with Felicia, she messes with us. Even if it means we have to break this bond. The words echoed in my head, not because I hurt Felicia and knew it was my fault, but because his words almost sounded like they were against me.

We were never against each other. I thought we were a team.

“Do you want to hear more?” Alchemist asked, and I was about to shake my head when I saw Felicia enter the room before she hugged Ericson from behind and kissed the corner of his lips.

Corner of his lips? What sister kisses their adult brother like this? Then she sat in his lap, almost straddling him, her nightgown nearly appearing like a revealing shrug for a Victoria's Secret ramp walk.

“It's good Angelica left for some time. It's peaceful at home again. And I have my brothers to myself,” Felicia said, and Ericson smiled before hugging her.

“Yes. It's good she left,” he said, and a whimper left my mouth.

Alchemist immediately turned the screen off and rushed to my side.

“Why? Where did everything go wrong? Is being human a curse, Alchemist? I didn't want this. I was afraid. They were the ones who assured me everything would be fine. Then why? How can they not trust me even when I am the one bearing their mark on my neck?” I asked the man who let me hit his arms as he pressed my face into his chest.

“Why? Was it all a lie? Why? Tell me, Alchemist. Why?!” I cried loudly, struggling hard against his grip as a scream left my mouth, the pain only intensifying.

“Aaaa!” I screamed again, clutching my chest before I pushed him off with all my might and fell on the ground.

“Why am I not ever enough for anyone? Why do people betray me?” I tore the pillow on the bed, throwing things around.

“Führerin, please calm down. You are only making this worse for yourself. The more unstable you become, the more your body is—” He couldn't complete what he said because the next second, I coughed loudly, gasping for air.

My head went dizzy, and I coughed again before looking at the ground, where fresh blood dripped from my mouth.

“Führerin! Please calm down!” Alchemist shouted, begging me to stop.

But could I? I couldn't.

I proceeded to cough blood, my head becoming more and more lightheaded before I felt my body lift in the air.

Before I could understand what was going on, my body hit the side of the wall, the sickening sound of bones cracking echoing in the air before the pain shot across my whole body.

“Angelica!” Alchemist shouted, and I whimpered, raising my hand to ask him for help.

I wanted this pain to stop, but it was only increasing.

My body lifted again before it bumped into another wall.

I saw Alchemist clasping his hand and chanting a few spells before the entire environment changed, and we reached a cliff.

Fear engulfed my entire body, and I whimpered loudly.

The pain in my body almost felt like it would rip my bones and muscles apart. And I didn't want to die, not before accomplishing my father's dream.

“Please—” I managed to mutter before my vision turned completely dark.
