Chapter 53 Little Mouse
ANGELICA'S POV
I looked at Tiara with a helpless smile, unsure what made her so happy.
It has been two hours since we returned from the hill, and everyone has been looking at me with big smiles as if there was something on my face. It was starting to get awkward.
We were standing in this mall to buy a fitting dress for the Luna ceremony since the alphas were busy in a meeting and weren't here to entertain me.
I didn't want to go shopping, but when Tiara and Zishan kept persuading me, I couldn't resist.
“What?” I couldn't help but ask.
Tiara shook her head with a giggle before shrugging her shoulders.
“It's nothing. I am just so happy. I dreamt of having a Luna for so long. How she would look like and how she would dress and what would be her preferences that—”
“And we definitely didn't think she would be a weak human,”
Another voice cut off Tianna's words, and I turned towards the intruder.
I couldn't help but smile at the girl.
“What's so funny?” Adrianna asked, sizing me up and down, and I shrugged.
“Nothing,” I said.
“No, tell me, dear future Luna. What was so funny?” Adrianna stepped ahead, commenting sarcastically, her form almost hovering over me, and I smirked back.
“What? Cat got your tongue now that –” Adrianna started but stopped speaking when she felt something pressing against her abdomen.
She looked down before widening her eyes and then looking back at me.
“You–” She stuttered.
I smiled innocently.
“I, what? This is a licensed gun, Adrianna, and I have all the rights to use it if someone threatens me,” I said.
Adrianna's expression froze for a few seconds before she chuckled.
“Do you think a normal bullet is capable of killing me? Us wolves? We are not like you humans who–”
She started, but I rolled my eyes before taking out two bullets from my gun.
I grabbed her hand and placed the bullets in it.
As soon as the bullets landed on Adrianna’s palm, we all heard a sizzling sound that was followed by Adrianna's scream of pain as she fell to the ground, startled.
Tiara, Zishan, who had been accompanying us, and even Alen, who had arrived, widened their eyes along with Adrianna's minions, and I glared at the girl.
“I am sure these can kill you,” I said before picking up the bullets and placing them back in my gun.
I looked at her before bending and holding her chin.
“Don't you get tired of this human and wolf stuff? Just because you are a bit more powerful doesn't mean you are immortal. It would be better if you spoke after doing a background check-up. Did anyone tell you that I have mafia blood running in my veins?” I asked.
Adrianna gulped. I could sense the fear from the way her eyes wavered as she struggled to keep eye contact with me and that was more than enough for me to hold onto it and dominate her.
That was what my stepfather always taught me.
The grip on the slightest fear your enemy shows is the only time you can show them who the boss of your life is and that you won't go down with a fight, no matter how powerful the enemy is.
“You can't threaten me like this. I will tell Alpha Dylan and –”
She stopped speaking when I smiled.
I am sure the realization dawned upon her and I didn't need to explain it to her.
“Listen here, Adrianna. Dylan and Ericson are my mates, and they belong to me. Try to have designs on them, and I would love to demonstrate what else I know about your species,” I said.
I stood straight and looked at Tiara.
“Didn't you tell her I am here to shop for the upcoming Luna ceremony?” I asked.
Adrianna stood from her place.
“I oppose it!!” Adrianna shrieked, stomping her foot like a baby.
She was getting on my nerves now.
“Can't you guys see what she is doing? She is manipulating our alphas,” Adrianna's voice faded as I walked further into the hall, trying to locate a washroom.
Once I used the washroom, I smiled at my reflection in the mirror.
“You did good, Angelica. Just stay confident, and no one can look down upon you,” I told myself before nodding.
After wiping my hands, I re-touched my lip balm, furrowing my brows when I noticed a strange person covered in a shawl and wearing goggles entering the washroom.
Not thinking much about it, I went with my business.
However, that person didn't move from their place and just stood near the door, staring at me. It was downright creepy.
“Do you need something?” I asked the person through the mirror.
As I turned around to ask what their deal was, I paused.
These shoes….there was no way this was a woman's foot.
It meant this was… My mind went into alert mode.
“Hey, it's a woman's washroom,” I raised my voice so someone could hear us.
The person seemed least affected by the outburst. They walked to me in long strides, and my hand went straight for the gun in my pocket.
“I will shoot you if you move an inch,” I said, making a beeline for the exit when the person stopped moving. His gaze followed my every move.
As soon as I got out of the washroom, I started running towards where everyone was.
However, as I was about to turn into the corridor, I saw another similar man who looked at me and started running in my direction as if wanting to catch me and I finally realized I was in a deep shit.
From how these people chased me, I knew they meant nothing good.
I ran as fast as I could, even quicker than when that wolf chased me.
My heart drummed against my chest as my limbs ached from the adrenaline rush I felt.
My feet barely touched the ground as I kept running, my legs screaming for me for relief.
Running out of the mall into the street was probably a mistake, but that mall was too unpredictable. Wherever I was turning, a new man came out to follow me.
There were six men running behind me now, or that was the last number I counted.
Three of them wore the same black shirts I was familiar with.
I couldn't stop. The fear that the moment I would slow, they would get to me and catch me was clutching my chest like a tight lock that made it hard to breathe.
The air seemed to have turned heavy, or was it the fear lingering in my veins?
The darkness of my vision blinded me as sweat got into my eyes, making them itchy.
As I turned around to look, I stumbled on my foot and fell to the ground.
This was bad.
I looked around hastily and quickly got into one of the nearby alleys when I didn’t notice anyone behind me.
Sweat covered my arms and legs as I breathed heavily, placing my palm on my burning throat as I massaged my chest to calm my raging heart.
All my earlier confidence vanished as I hugged myself closer before pulling out my phone to call someone.
I dialed Dylan's number, but it came off. Ericson's number was turned off, too, and I remembered they had said something about a crucial alpha meeting, so they wouldn't be able to pick up my calls.
But what should I do now?
I resorted to calling my stepfather and was about to punch the dial button when I felt a little movement around me.
It was like a soda can being kicked away, and my body shook in fear.
“Where are you hiding my little mouse?” I heard his bones-chilling voice.
“I know you are hiding here. No one in the world knows you better than I do. No one loves you more than I do,” He said and before I could react, the drum was removed from in front of me.
Blue cold eyes stared back at me as a smirk played on his lips.
“Jarvin,” I whispered in fear, and the man smiled wider.
“Your Jarvin,” he grinned.
