Chapter 100 The plan to meet him

Chapter 100 The plan to meet him
ANGELICA'S POV

We can do this, right? I asked Cecilia again.

If that's what you want to do, I'll channel my energies to your hands. But be careful, don't let the blast touch your abdomen. Cecilia warned me, and I nodded before taking off my jacket and wrapping it around my abdomen protectively.

I was about to raise my hand to destroy the sphere, stumbling back and staggering in the process as it wouldn't let me do it.

‘I need to do it. Please give me some strength,’ I whispered to myself and was about to try again when I felt someone holding my hand, another hand sneaking around my abdomen.

Dylan held my hand along with Ericson as they held my abdomen protectively from either side. The sphere was starting to absorb their energies, too. I could see it.

But they were here for our baby and me, and the thought alone made me want to try my best.

“Aaa!” I yelled before they helped me hit the sphere with all the strength we could muster.

The sphere blasted, and they quickly turned me around, shielding me from the impact.

Dylan's growl from behind me indicated he was hurt in the process, and I wanted to turn and see, but they forced me into that position.

I could feel my mates getting hurt, and there was nothing I could do.

The blasting process continued for a few more seconds before everything went eerily silent.

The only thing I could hear was our heartbeats before the alphas removed their protective hands from around me.

They cupped my cheeks to look at me and see if I got hurt.

I could see the pain Dylan was trying to hide and narrowed my brows at him.

“Show me,” I said.

“It will get better,” Dylan tried to dismiss me.

“We are each other's strength. That's what you said,” I reminded him, and he sighed before nodding and showing me his back.

My gaze trembled when I saw how his entire back was wounded with what looked like dagger attacks.

It was because of the blast of that sphere whose energy pieces acted like nothing less than a dagger.

“Don't worry, mi amore. It would get better in no time and—” Dylan started, but I walked in front of him before placing my lips on his to stop him from speaking.

The man immediately stopped talking and hugged me, deepening the kiss.

Warmth spread through my heart immediately, and I placed my hand on his back to channel my healing energy onto his back, using the same warmth he was giving me, just in a different form.

I pulled away after a few seconds before smiling at him.

“There you go,” I whispered.

“I got wounded too,” Ericson said when he saw what I did, and I furrowed my brows.

“Really? Where?” I asked.
“Here!” Ericson pointed to his hand. I saw a scratch that was already healing, and by the time I could even raise my hand to touch it, it healed completely.

Ericson glared at the scratch as if it committed some crime by healing itself, and I couldn't help but chuckle.

I stood on my tiptoes and pecked his lips.

The sound of cheers and laughter brought my attention back to the matter at hand.

For the first time since I arrived, I saw younger people; they were around twenty, probably because some of their mana was already drained, but it was something.

“Thank you so much, leader,” a witch rushed to me and kissed my hands. Before I could even say not to thank me and stuff, she rushed away and hugged her son.

He looked to be in his late teens. I saw her kissing his face repeatedly and thanking the moon goddess for sending me here and for helping free her son.

Many such witches emerged, and everyone was celebrating.

I realized how painful it must've been for the witches to see their kids suffering every minute and not being able to do anything about it.

They had tried to run too, but could never. The sphere was used to indicate the name of the kid who had matured and was ready to be suck dry.

And to say a witch designed such an evil system against every other kid just to save hers was even more diabolical.

As I was smiling at the scene, Xyla walked behind me and got on her knees for the second time.

“I know what you did was for our welfare and to stop the evil process for the meantime, but this would just instigate the demon king even more, and he would come to hunt us,” Xyla said.

I nodded. I was well aware of that. This wasn't the end; rather, it was a major step I took towards the demon king to let him know that we witches were ready to fight this time.

“Führerin,” the familiar voice made me turn to Alchemist.

He looked around at the broken sphere and then at my hands that still had dried blood from Dylan's shirt.

“What did you do? There was a reason I didn't bring you here?! Xyla, you stupid witch!” Alchemist got angry at Xyla, and in the blink of an eye, he was choking her throat in pure anger.

My eyes widened, and I quickly rushed to him.

Ericson held my hand to stop me and went ahead himself to pull Alchemist away from Xyla.

“Leave her alone. If you kill your kind, what's the difference between that witch who made this sphere and you?” Ericson growled, and maybe it put some sense into his head. Alchemist let go of Xyla immediately.

He looked down at his feet, ruffling his hair.

“I know, Alpha Ericsson. But my duty was to protect her. That's what I promised my mentor, the leader. By bringing her here and making her do this, Xyla has indirectly put her in the king's radar. I know she is strong and witty, but she is yet to learn to control her powers completely,” Alchemist said.

I pursed my lips.

If he was angry at what I did, I wonder how angry he would be when he heard what I had in mind.

“I read the file you gave me,” I said out of the blue.

“Hmm?” Alchemist asked.

I swallowed hard before clearing my throat.

“I read all the details on the demon king, his family, his child, the location, and everything,” I started, trying to hint.

Alchemist narrowed his eyes at me.

“I still don't understand what you are trying to imply here, Fuhrerin,” he asked.

I licked my bottom lip and looked at the alphas who had the same confused expression as the mage.

“Well, what I am trying to say here is that I am going to face the demon king in his own abode. I will meet him in his den,” I said and closed my eyes, ready to hear them explode.

They didn't disappoint me.

“You have got to be kidding me,” Ericson was the first to react.

“It's not an option,” Dylan immediately denied the idea.

“I would be a fool to allow you to do something like that,” Alchemist said, his green eyes glowing, which meant if I tried to oppose his decision one more time, he wouldn't shy away from binding me and my powers.

“It's not something I would recommend either,” Xyla said, and the witches who had come to greet me and express their gratitude nodded in sync.

I know they were worried about me. If I had been in their place, I would've been worried about myself too. It was the normal reaction.

However, I wasn't saying this impulsively. I had been thinking about this plan, weighing the pros and cons, ever since I read the file Alchemist gave me a few days ago.

I had been reading that file day in and day out, reading the pattern of the demon lore just to get familiar with every corner and remember all the exits like the back of my hand to come out running if I got stuck there.

I knew if I ran, a war would break out, but there wasn't really any other option either.

A war would take place nonetheless because there was no way I was ready to allow the demon king to hurt my child or me, as a matter of fact.

But before that, I wanted to try this idea too. I was so confident in myself and my powers that I could run free from that place.

Alchemist and Xyla didn't know, but I had been using Cecilia's intellect to create a faux system and lore, just like the one the demon king lives in, and to escape it from all angles, just to familiarize myself with the idea.

"At least hear my idea before judging. Please?” I asked, blinking my eyes with a pout so they would fall for my cuteness.

And just like I had thought… it didn't work.

Seeing the sad expression on my face, Dylan tried to coax me into dropping the idea, but when I told him to believe in me just this once and hear me out, and that if they didn't like it, I would drop the idea altogether, he finally gave up and got ready to hear me out.

That was all I needed. If one folded, others would too. And they indeed did.

I sighed before taking a deep breath and telling them what exactly I had in mind.
