Chapter 75 War Against Kevin

Chapter 75 War Against Kevin

The night sky above SilverCrest's pack lands was eerily quiet, but that silence was about to be shattered. Derek stood at the front of the combined armies, Kael by his side. Warriors from various allied packs, their eyes glowing with determination, formed ranks behind them. Derek’s wolf, Leo, huge and menacing, shifted impatiently beneath his skin, eager for the fight ahead.

Derek’s voice broke the silence, calm but firm. “Tonight, we end this. Alpha Kevin thought he could betray us and get away with it. He underestimated our strength and unity.”

Kael nodded, his sharp eyes scanning the sea of warriors from various packs. “His pack isn’t ready for us. They have no idea we’re coming. We strike hard and fast before they can organize.”

A low rumble of agreement traveled through the ranks.

“Take your positions,” Derek commanded through the mind link, his voice reaching every wolf in their army. “Stay sharp. Fight as one. No unnecessary risks.”

Kevin’s pack was unprepared. Derek and Kael had ensured that their attack was sudden and swift. The council of elders had finally seen Kael’s innocence, and they had promised him that he would be reinstated as alpha of his pack after this war. This was not just a battle for revenge; it was a battle to restore justice.

Kael glanced at Derek. “This ends tonight,” he said, his voice firm.

Derek nodded. His mind momentarily flickering to Ella. He couldn’t wait for this war to be over so he could finally go to her.

Alpha Derekl raised his hand, signaling the warriors to shift into their wolf forms. Bones cracked, fur erupted, and the air filled with snarls and growls as wolves of all sizes prepared for battle. Leo, towering and powerful, let out a howl that echoed through the valley.

The first howl of attack rang through the night, sending shockwaves through Kevin’s pack. Wolves poured out of their dens, their confusion evident as they scrambled to understand what was happening.

From within the pack house, Kevin’s warriors spilled out, caught off guard but rallying quickly.

The battle began.

The clash was immediate and brutal. The allied wolves charged into SilverCrest’s warriors with unmatched ferocity. Teeth bared and claws extended, the wolves collided like a raging storm, the sound of growls and yelps filling the air.

“Take out their front line!” Derek’s voice boomed through the mind link, clear and commanding. His wolves moved with precision, breaking through the initial wave of defenders.

Kael’s wolves fought alongside them, their moves quick and deadly. Kael, in his wolf form, tore through two of Kevin’s warriors in quick succession, his silver fur gleaming under the pale moonlight.

“Hold the eastern flank!” Kael barked through the mind link, his tone sharp.

“We’re on it!” one of his wolves responded.

Despite being caught off guard, Kevin’s warriors fought back fiercely. They were fighting for survival, and the desperation showed in their relentless attacks.

Leo lunged at a towering black wolf, clamping his jaws around its neck. With a powerful twist, he snapped the wolf’s spine, sending it crumpling to the ground. Blood stained his fur, but he didn’t stop. His mind was focused, his moves precise.

“Push forward!” Kael urged, his voice a constant presence in the minds of his warriors.

Kael found himself face-to-face with Kevin’s Beta,Theron, the massive gray wolf snarling as it lunged at him. Kael sidestepped and countered with a powerful strike, his claws raking across the Beta’s side. The wolf yelped but didn’t back down, circling Kael with a murderous gleam in its eyes.

“You’re fighting for a traitor,” Kael growled, his tone sharp and cutting. “Stand down, and you might live to see another day.”

The Beta snapped its jaws. “You don’t know anything about loyalty, Kael. We’ll die before we betray our Alpha!”

Kael lunged forward, the two wolves colliding in a blur of fur and teeth. The fight was brutal, but Kael’s experience and speed gave him the edge. With a final, powerful blow, he sent the Beta crashing to the ground, wounded.

From a distance, inside the pack house. Kevin watched, his frustration growing. His warriors were faltering, the suddenness of the attack leaving them disorganized. His eyes locked on Derek and Kael, their combined forces wreaking havoc on his pack. He growled lowly, slamming his fist on the table, the sound echoing through the room. “Useless,” he muttered. “All of them useless.”

“How did they find out?” He hissed, pacing like a caged animal.

His beta bleeding from a fresh wound staggered into the room, gasping for breath. “Alpha, they are breaking through! We are outnumbered, completely surrounded.”

Kevin glared at him, his eyes blazing with fury. “Then fight harder, I won't let these fools take what's mine.”

Theron hesitated. Alpha…maybe we should retreat. Regroup–”

Kevin's snarl cut him off. “Coward! Do you think I will abandon My pack? My legacy? Everything I have worked hard to build?”

But even as he spoke, his eyes darted to the hidden door at the back of the room–the escape route he has prepared for himself long ago Incase of emergencies.”

Back on the battle field, Kael clashed with Kevin's warriors, his silver fur streaked with blood and dirt. His sharp eyes scanned the chaos, searching for the one wolf who had caused all these destruction.

The battle raged for what felt like hours. Wolves clashed, blood was spilled, and the ground was littered with fallen warriors. Slowly but surely, the allied forces gained the upper hand.

Inside the pack house, Kevin's desperation grew. He shoved pass his remaining advisors. His thoughts racing. The sound of battle grew louder, closer.

“Alpha, they're at the gate.” Someone shouted.

Kelvin ignored them, his mind focused on survival. He slipped through the hidden door, disappearing into the darkness as his pack fought and die for him.

Derek stood in the center of the battlefield, his fur matted with blood. He shifted back into his human form, his chest heaving as he surveyed the scene. His warriors had fought well, and victory was within reach.

Kael, also human now, approached him, his expression grim but determined. “We've won the battle” he said, his voice steady. “But the war isn't over. Kelvin is still out there.”

Derek nodded, his eyes flickering with determination. “We'll find him. And when we do, he'll answer for everything.

When the dust settled, the battlefield was quiet. Kevin’s pack had been decimated, their warriors dead, captured or scattered. The allied forces stood victorious, though their victory had come at a cost.

Derek stood still, his mind wandering. His thoughts immediately went to Ella, the woman who had consumed his every waking moment. He had stayed away for too long, held back by duty and the need to protect his people. But now, with this battle behind him, he could finally pursue her.

“I’m coming for you, Ella,” he whispered under his breath, a small smile tugging at his lips.

Kael, standing a few feet away, was lost in his own thoughts. He closed his eyes and tilted his head back, as though speaking to the heavens. “Mom, Dad,” he said softly, his voice trembling slightly. “I’ve been called a rogue for so long. But no more. They promised to reinstate me as alpha, and I will rebuild our pack. I’ll make you proud.”

His fists clenched as he continued. “And now that I’m no longer restricted, I’ll find her. I’ll find my sister, no matter where she is.”

Kael’s determination burned brightly, his resolve unshaken. This war had given him a second chance—a chance to reclaim what was lost and to set things right.

As the allied forces regrouped, the other forces who had gone to attack the various camps of Kevin's rogues and allies arrived as they all celebrate victory.

As the night wore on, the allied forces began to disperse, returning to their respective packs. The battlefield, once filled with chaos and bloodshed, was now eerily quiet.

Derek and Kael stood side by side, watching as their warriors prepared to leave.

“What now?” Kael asked, his voice breaking the silence.

Derek allowed himself a rare smile, the root of the plague that had haunted their packs had finally been discovered and destroyed. He had fulfilled his duty as an Alpha, leading his people through one of their darkest times.

But his thoughts drifted to Ella, the woman who had ignited a fire in him he could no longer ignore nor deny. Now that the war was nearly over, he could finally pursue her and claim her as his mate.

Derek smirked, turning to Kael. “Now, I go after my mate.”

Kael chuckled softly. “Its right about time.”

They exchanged a glance, mutual respect passing between them. Despite their differences, they had fought together and emerged victorious.

As they parted ways, both men carried with them a renewed sense of purpose. For Derek, it was Ella—a future he had longed for but had put on hold. For Kael, it was redemption and the hope of finding his lost sister.

And though the war against Kevin had ended, their personal battles were just beginning.
