Chapter 93 - Simon

It’s been two weeks since Violet started her training. She would go out to the perimeter with me and one other wolf to set the traps. I don’t know where she got the energy but watching her do over one hundred traps and then train after drained even me. Violet mentioned that she was tapping into my energy to help her perform her magic, but I think she was just saying that.

She was growing stronger each day; I saw her block three full grown wolves as they tried to rush her. With barely a flick of the wrist she stopped them, as if a wall was there and they ran into it. After the first week of training no one would volunteer to train with Violet. She would barely do anything, and they would end up bloody. The good thing that came out of this was that they respected her as their Luna.

I thought it was going to be more difficult to get people on board with having a witch as their Luna, but no one batted an eye after seeing her fight. I was so proud of her; I was an idiot for commenting about her taking it seriously those weeks ago. She was more serious than I could have imagined.

“Hey!” Jared said snapping his fingers in front of my face. “You need to focus and finish signing these papers.

The papers in front of me were to permanently hire the temporary works that we hired from the surrounding packs. They all worked out and business wasn’t slowing down. We were going to make another request to hire more from the other packs. That was going to solidify our treaty and continue with the peace that my father strived to get for so long. All with the exception of Garrett and Layla.

“Hey, have you heard from the Silver River Pack?” I looked up from my paperwork and stared at Jared.

He thought for a moment and then shook his head. “Nope.”

Ever since they left the Alpha meeting when they met Violet, we haven’t heard from them. This wouldn’t be an issue except that their pack was a boarder pack. Since they left, I had guards constantly in that area.

“Why do you ask?”

“I just have a feeling something is going to go down and their hands are going to be in it.”

“Did you want me to send a scout?”

“No, I don’t want to stir up something if nothing is going to happen. Let’s just keep guards on the boarder just in case.”

Jared nodded and wrote something down. I finished signing the paperwork in front of me. I stretched my arms above my head. “You want to see what the girls are doing?”

“Yep.” Jared responded and put down the notebook he was holding. “We don’t have anything else that needs to get done today.”

“That’s great to hear.” I stood and walked out of the office. “They are in the training grounds.” We walked through the house and out the back where I could see Violet, Greta, and Bruce near the lake. She was gesturing toward them, instructing them what she wanted them to do. I stopped far enough away to not distract her.

Bruce ran at full force, and with a flick of the wrist she sent him flying more than a hundred yards into the air and almost to the falls. Bruce screamed as he flew.

“Shit!” Violet said while Greta laughed at the sight of Bruce flying through the air. Violet caught him just before he hit the water. As she held him in the air, she looked around and spotted me and smiled. I walked towards her as she brought Bruce back to solid ground.

Bruce braced himself on his legs as he caught his breath. “Next time, warn me if you are going to launch me into the air like that.”

“Sorry, Bruce.” Violet said running up to him. “I wasn’t planning on doing that, but Simon came, and he magnifies my power.”

Bruce looked at me and shook his head. “Right.” He stood up straight.

“Sorry, Bruce.” I said with a laugh. “Didn’t mean to get you almost killed.”

“Hey!” Violet said punching my shoulder. “I wasn’t going to kill him. I was just trying to push him away from me.”

“Launch yes…push no.” Was all I said laughing again.

“I’m glad it wasn’t me.” Greta said still laughing.

“You have to warn me when you are in the area. The closer you are the more powerful I become.”

I looked at her and put my arm around her waist. “I’ll do my best but watching that was pretty funny.”

“It doesn’t help me if I kill people in our pack.”

My heart jumped when she said, ‘our pack.’ It took her awhile to start acknowledging that this was her home, and this was not only my pack but hers as well. “True.” Was all I could muster.

“I think that’s enough for today.” Violet said as she looked at Bruce who was finally standing straight.

“I think you’re right Luna. If you don’t mind, I’m going to go lay down.” He said as he walked off looking a little green.

Greta and I looked at each other and started laughing hard. It was only funny because Bruce was a solid wolf. He was taller than me and bigger than me but being launched in the air threw him.

Violet elbowed me in the side. “Stop.” she said under her breath.

I tried to contain myself. “Sorry, my love.”

“Did we get the final shipment for the Yule Ball?” Violet said, changing the subject.

“Not yet, I expect it to come in tomorrow.” Jared said as he pulled Greta into his arms. “We have most of it ready though. We could start decorating.”

“Yeah, I think that’s a good plan, I don’t want to mess this up.” She said biting her lip. “And the food?”

“Food should be here three days before the party so Stella can start on preparations.” Greta said.

“You’re going to do amazing.” I leaned down and whispered in her ear. “Don’t worry.”

“It’s just…” She trailed off.

“It’s just what?”

“It’s just that sure the Alphas and Lunas know about me and have met me, but now at least a hundred others are going to be there and I’m the odd one out.” She glanced at me.
