Chapter 106 - Simon
I smoothed the suite over my body and looked into the mirror. I looked good, the suite was tight enough to show my physique but not so tight that it wasn’t formal. I think Violet would like this. I smile at the thought of her name. She was mine. And we have the rest of our lives together. We were going to figure out this Eli thing, we would defeat him and then have a happy life. That’s all that I wanted. My bachelor days were over. I wanted a family.
A knock came at the door.
“Come in.” I yelled.
Jared walks in, holding a garment bag. “Can I get dressed in here? Greta kicked me out so she and Violet can get ready.”
I laughed. “Yeah, come on in.”
Jared walked in and set the garment bag on the bed. He opened it and revealed a similar tux that I now wore. “Greta said, if I didn’t dress up, she would make me pay.”
“You are very whipped, my friend.”
“Would you really want to go against Greta?”
I thought for a moment. “You’re right, I wouldn’t.”
Jared laughed and got dressed. His short, cropped hair was already fixed. He didn’t have a lot he could do with it. He looked at himself in the mirror. “I look good, if I do say so myself.” He pulled on the suite jacket and moved in the mirror to inspect himself. I think Greta will approve.
“I agree.” I sat in a chair near the window. Cars started to pull up. Guests were arriving. “Did you get a chance to see Greta’s dress?”
“No, she hid it last night before I could take a peek. You?”
“Nope.”
Guest after guest stepped out of their vehicles. A valet service was set up to go park the cars on the training grounds. There was no way that all the cars would be able to park in our driveway. It may be long, but no woman would want to walk over a mile in heels to get to this party. All the guests were beaming, excited. I wished I knew what they were thinking, just so I could prepare Violet. Even though I spent so much time reassuring her, if I was being honest, I didn’t know how people would react.
“We should go downstairs and greet the guests.” Jared said, buttoning his sleeve cuff.
“You’re right.” I stood, brushing the suite, making sure I didn’t wrinkle it.
Jared stood in front of me and straightened my tie. “You look good, Alpha.” He patted my shoulder.
“You do too, brother.” I straightened his bow tie. “Let’s go.”
We made our way down the stairs and already the foyer was filled with guests, chatting, and laughing. Some even had champagne flutes in their hands, ready to party.
“Hey! There he is. The man of the hour.” Tristan yelled, raising his glass as I descended the stairs.
“Hello, Alpha Tristan.” I said extending my hand.
He grabbed it and shook it with enthusiasm. “Where is your lovely mate? There are a lot of wolves in my pack dying to meet her. I cannot say how many times an Omega came up to me peppering me and Tiffany with questions about her.”
“Oh really?” I furrowed my brow.
“Don’t look so serious, man. They are just excited. Everyone is.” Tristan said slamming his hand on my shoulder. “Nothing to worry about.”
“Is Tristan giving you trouble?” Tiffany said walking up to us. She was wearing a white floor length gown. A lace mask was covering half of her face, giving her an elegant feel. Sometimes, some of the pack members like to dress up like it’s Halloween by wearing a mask.
“Nah, babe. I’m just telling him how excited our pack is to meet his mate.”
She smiled and nodded. “Yes, they are very excited. This is the first time that they have ever heard of a non-wolf being a Luna. They find it fascinating.”
“That’s good. She was a little worried about how the other packs would take it.” I said, letting out a breath of relief.
Tiffany giggled. “She is a gem, Alpha Simon. I’m so happy you found her.” She gave me a sincere smile.
“Thank you, Luna Tiffany.”
“You didn’t answer my question. Where is your mate?” Tristan laughed.
“She’s still getting ready with her Beta. She should be down any…” All the chatter in the room stopped and looked up to the landing. I turned. I swear my heart stopped in my chest when I saw her. She glowed. The dress hugged every curve perfectly. It took all of my energy not to go and rip it off of her.
She smiled down at me, not looking at anyone else. I dashed up the stairs and pulled her in my arms. “You look beautiful.” I kissed her.
Cheering came from below. We pulled away from each other. I turned and looked at the crowd who were still staring at us. “Alright, alright, everyone. Calm down.” I said, taking Violet’s hand and escorting her down the stairs.
Before we reached the bottom, she leaned in and whispered. “You look handsome.”
I looked at her and smiled. This is the best night of my life, I thought to myself.
