Chapter 57
"You're agreeing to this?" Alexander's eyes lit up, and he laughed happily. "Thank you for giving me this chance."
Charlotte looked at his completely different, clingy behavior and couldn't help but marvel to herself.
Was this still the same Alexander she first met—mysterious, aloof, and seemingly unapproachable?
When they arrived at the Langley Group, Charlotte put on her employee badge.
Alexander glanced at the position on her badge.
"Just a deputy manager in the sales department? How did you get into the Langley Group?"
Charlotte was secretly surprised.
Edward had never mentioned her identity to Alexander.
She had only told him that night when they bonded over the piano piece that she was the eldest daughter of the Langley family.
Edward must have figured out that she was the legendary Miss Langley who had been separated from the Langley family, and would be the absolute star of the Langley family's upcoming reunion banquet.
She just hadn't expected Edward to be so honorable and tight-lipped, not telling Alexander at all.
This made her think even more highly of Edward.
Charlotte said calmly, "So what? A deputy manager in the sales department might just be a middle management position in other companies, but at the Langley Group, it's very difficult to reach this position, and the salary is much higher than at regular companies."
"Then I'll pay you ten times what they pay you. Come work at my company, okay?" Alexander's eyes were full of hope.
Charlotte was somewhat speechless. "I'm not going to your Harris Group. If I got in through your connections, who knows what people would say about me."
Alexander grabbed her wrist and said seriously, "If I arrange for you to go there, no one will dare say a word about you. You can rest assured. And if I announce that you'll be the CEO's wife, they definitely won't dare do anything to you."
Charlotte was so scared she tried to pull her hand back. "Stop talking nonsense. Who said I want to be your CEO's wife?"
Alexander held her wrist firmly, suggestively caressing her wrist bone.
"As long as you're willing, I can hand over the entire group to you."
"Are you crazy?"
Charlotte shook off his hand and pushed open the car door. "I need to go to work."
She hurried away.
Alexander leaned back in his seat watching her retreating figure, a hint of amusement flashing in his eyes.
After Charlotte went upstairs and just arrived at her office, she received a phone call.
After the call connected, a man's respectful voice came through. "Is this Designer Queen?"
Charlotte paused. "Yes."
"We're the organizers of the Breeze Awards. We'd like to invite you to be a judge for this year's competition, serving as one of the three main judges. Do you have time for this?"
Charlotte paused.
The Breeze Awards was a top international jewelry design competition.
She had participated twice, and after winning the championship consecutively, her status skyrocketed, making her a top jewelry designer.
Her value had risen accordingly.
After that, she was no longer a contestant in any competition, but served as a judge instead.
The Breeze Awards was the competition that made her famous and launched her career.
So whenever she had time, she would serve as a judge to help boost its profile.
Charlotte then said, "Okay, I'm not very busy recently, so I have time."
"Then I'll send you the results of the first preliminary round so you can familiarize yourself with each designer's abilities."
Charlotte agreed and received the competition rankings and works.
However, as soon as the ranking chart loaded, she saw two familiar names.
The first place was Chloe, and second place was Mandy.
Charlotte narrowed her eyes.
Mandy? She knew jewelry design too?
She scrolled the mouse and pulled up their designs.
A sense of familiarity hit her.
Charlotte narrowed her eyes, looking coldly at these two designs.
Too familiar.
The first one, Chloe's design, was clearly similar to the necklace her designer Ryan had designed for Chloe.
Mandy's design was even more similar to the blue fish design she had created before—at least seventy percent similar.
What an incredible coincidence.
Charlotte laughed coldly and closed the email directly.
Fine, you want to play? Then let's play big.
She called the organizers back directly.
"First place and second place show great potential, and eighth place is also a designer I quite admire. Send all three of them directly to the finals, but don't reveal my name. Just say an anonymous judge is willing to guarantee their entry to the finals."
"Okay, okay, I understand."
The organizers naturally obeyed this globally renowned designer absolutely, and didn't ask why she was guaranteeing them.
The talents Charlotte selected for the Breeze Awards every year were all industry leaders.
Either their abilities were absolutely recognized and they became industry benchmarks, or like her, they became mainstream designers with great fame.
This also led everyone to believe that the Breeze Awards competition was a true star-making platform, and anyone who fought their way out from here was a good prospect.
But actually, the person with real vision who could recognize genius was Charlotte.
After hanging up, Charlotte went to handle work, and asked Ryan to send her the necklace he designed, from sketch to design drawing with a timeline, packaged in a file.
Although Ryan didn't understand Charlotte's purpose, he obediently did as told.
When it was almost lunch break at noon, Charlotte stretched, got up and headed to the employee cafeteria to eat, when she saw several employees gathered in the hallway discussing something.
"Who is that? He keeps saying he's here to see Ms. Langley, but she's never left a business partner waiting downstairs before."
"Right, even without an appointment, Ms. Langley would just send the person away directly. Why is she ignoring him and letting him wait in the lobby?"
"That seems to be the CEO of the Johnson Group. Their company isn't even big enough to qualify for cooperation with our Langley Group!"
"With that small company of his, he dares to come and request a business meeting with us? Ms. Langley wouldn't be interested in him."
The Johnson Group?
Charlotte heard this and calmly swiped her card to go downstairs.
She went directly to the company lobby and immediately saw Henry sitting there, his face showing some anxiety and the awkwardness of being snubbed, looking quite embarrassed.
He really came.
Charlotte's face turned cold. Just as she was about to walk over, she saw the CEO's private elevator door open.
Victoria was walking toward the lobby with several employees, talking.
Henry's eyes lit up, and he quickly went up to her.
"Victoria!"
He called out and went directly in front of Victoria.
Everyone was confused by his call, looking back and forth between Henry and Victoria, not knowing what was going on.
Victoria's face turned cold, looking at Henry expressionlessly.
"You still dare to come before me?"
Charlotte stood still not far away, not walking over to let them discover her presence.
