Chapter 703 Quarrel
Chapter 703 Quarrel
"Mom, I didn't!" Leah said. "People should be honest. I have to show him my real self. Otherwise, if you make me act like a lady and be all gentle, wouldn't that be lying to him?"
The lady immediately asked, "Mrs. Sinclair, what do you mean by this?"
Samantha explained, "Don't listen to my daughter's nonsense! Leah doesn't smoke or drink. She's not usually like this."
Brian didn't say anything, just watched Leah with interest.
Leah patted Brian on the shoulder and asked with a mischievous smile, "Where do you usually hang out? Do you go to clubs to pick up girls?"
"Leah!" Samantha pulled her back. "Shut up and behave yourself!"
The lady said, "Mrs. Sinclair, I don't think these two are a good match. Let's just leave it at that. Goodbye."
Samantha called after her, but it was no use.
She turned around angrily and slapped Leah across the face. The sharp sound made people around them look over.
"What's your problem? Are you trying to embarrass me on purpose?" Samantha shouted without restraint.
Leah covered her face, her eyes also blazing with anger. She said stubbornly and angrily, "Yes, I am embarrassing you. Who told you to make me go on dates!"
"You're coming home with me!" Samantha grabbed her wrist and started walking. "We're going to have a good talk about this at home!"
"Let go of me, I don't want to!" Leah struggled. "I have nothing to say to you!"
Samantha said through gritted teeth, "We're not making a scene at someone else's wedding. I'll deal with you at home!"
The commotion got pretty loud, and Alexander came over when he heard.
He said with a dark expression, "Have you two had enough? Go home!"
"Alexander..." Leah looked at him and tears of grievance fell.
Lillian comforted her, "Don't cry. Come on, let's go home first."
Alexander and Lillian went to say goodbye to Caspian and Wendy, then drove home.
The wedding continued, and Caspian and Wendy kept making toasts.
Blake had just watched Leah's drama from the back of the crowd, looking pleased about her misfortune. He turned around and saw Caspian making toasts in this area, so he walked over with his glass.
"Caspian."
"Blake." Caspian introduced him to Wendy, "Wendy, this is Alexander's brother."
"Blake." Wendy had heard about Blake from Lillian and smiled faintly.
Blake said with a smile, "Caspian, you're so lucky. Wendy is really beautiful, better than Evelyn."
Caspian's brow twitched, and he laughed a couple of times. "Blake, you really know how to talk. You're bringing up my ex at my wedding—aren't you trying to start a fight between me and my wife?"
"Wendy's not that petty. She looks very gracious," Blake said. "Right, Wendy?"
Wendy wasn't sharp-tongued. Even though Blake's words were unpleasant, she just smiled slightly and didn't say anything.
Suddenly, Blake's phone rang. When he saw who was calling, his expression changed. He put away his casual smile. "Excuse me, I need to take this call."
"Go ahead." Caspian watched him carefully.
Blake turned and walked away while answering, "It's me. What, you're coming to Rihegde next week? Okay, I'll arrange it right away, okay, okay..."
Caspian kept his eyes fixed on Blake's back, wondering who this person was. Blake walked farther away, and he couldn't hear the rest of the conversation.
"Honey, what are you looking at?" Wendy tugged at him.
Caspian said absently, "Nothing."
"How many more people do we need to toast? I'm exhausted," Wendy complained.
Caspian said, "We haven't been to Mom's neighbors yet. Let's go."
Alexander's family returned to Sinclair Villa.
As soon as they entered, Samantha shouted at Lillian first, "Take the kids upstairs!"
Lillian couldn't wait to get upstairs. She didn't want the children to see all this fighting either.
Samantha threw her handbag on the sofa. "So, what do you want?"
Leah wasn't backing down either. "I don't want to go on dates. I've said it many times. Every time I say it, you don't listen, and you keep asking why! Yes, I did it on purpose just now. I wanted to scare them away. If you keep setting me up on blind dates, I have even better tricks up my sleeve!"
"You're really something!" Samantha pressed down her anger and said, "Don't think you can push me around. I've been through everything. It's not your turn to act wild in front of me. I think Brian is a really good guy. Even though you made such a scene, he stayed calm and handled it well. You should try getting to know him better."
"Mom, his aunt already disagreed. You think we can just get to know each other?" Leah said with a mocking laugh.
"You don't need to worry about that. I have my ways," Samantha said coldly. "Leah, before I really lose my temper, you'd better quit while you're ahead."
Leah said, "I won't agree. I don't like this Brian. If you like him, then you go date him!"
"Smack!" Samantha didn't hold back at all. Without any hesitation, she slapped Leah. "You're so rude, talking to your mother like that!"
"Mom!" Alexander stepped forward and shouted, "Why are you hitting people again!"
Leah was stunned by the sudden slap and stumbled.
Alexander walked over and held her shoulder. "Leah, are you okay?"
After asking, he said to Samantha, "Mom, do you know what respect means? Leah has told you many times she doesn't want to date. Why do you keep forcing her? Let me tell you, the Sinclair family doesn't need arranged marriages!"
Samantha looked at the siblings and said angrily, "Alexander, you have no right to criticize others. Look at yourself. Look at what kind of family you married into. One family's power alone can't hold up the situation. Don't think the Sinclair family can stay on top forever. Making plans early and forming alliances is the only way to avoid being replaced by others later."
"Mom, the Sinclair family's honor and fate are my responsibility too. But I don't want to trade Leah's happiness for it! No more blind dates from now on!" Alexander warned in a deep voice.
Samantha turned her gaze to Leah and said with a cold laugh, "So she'll be happy with Kevin? You know what she's thinking."
Leah shouted at Samantha hysterically, "Yes! I do like Kevin, and I want to be with him! Whether you agree or not, I've decided on him for life!"
Leah's voice was loud, breaking through the doors and windows, reaching Kevin's ears outside.
David was also there. He said quietly, "Ms. Sinclair is really serious about you, huh?"
Kevin looked down. His expression couldn't be seen. He remained silent.
