Chapter 98

\[Storey Building\]
"Do you plan on going after the families of the rest of the boys too? They're all loaded" Mrs. Ortega asked.
The two woman are sitting face-to-face in a storage room at the back of the building right now, and Matron is smoking tobacco again.
Also, she's rolling her pendulum pocket watch in hand.
"Konstantin's family is untouchable, down in Russia...his mother is a well-known witch. Ashton's abusive father is powerful in Tennessee too. As for Capri...I only know about his rich dead mother, but his father? I have no idea who, so those three are dead ends I'd rather not chase. The only person I can touch is Elder Creed, and that's because I've been making this plan since I began working in the family house, and I have his trust and his son's" Matron explained.
"You're really something" Mrs. Ortega clapped thrice.
"Same to you, you killed your husband and stole his wealth" Matron smiled.
"But it's still not enough, and that's why I'm trying to go after Rafael too, but he's hard to get" Mrs. Ortega sighed.
"He's still very much in love with his ex-wife" Matron said.
"But they divorced" Mrs. Ortega hissed.
"Doesn't matter, he still has the hots for her, let's focus on why we're here" Matron replied.
"It's Ixora...you know what I did to make her testify, and you know how the memories were also hidden. I have to inject her with the shot to keep them hidden forever, but I kept failing, she even killed one of my men in Capetown" Mrs. Ortega said, dropping a picture of the stone-crushed face on the table.
"She did this?" Matron picked it with interest.
"I was surprised too" Mrs. Ortega replied.
"She has a dark side too, now I know why my Romeo is attracted to her" Matron smiled.
"What are you talking about?" Mrs. Ortega blinked.
"Leave her alone, memories of how she agreed to testify will never come back unless she enters a courtroom again, and I don't see that happening" Matron said.
"Are you sure? I can just kill her" Mrs. Ortega replied.
"I said... leave her alone" Matron warned with a rougher edge, and Mrs. Ortega scoffed.
"I have a plan tomorrow. I'm fooling the boys once again. If it works, they'd forget about Evelyn forever" she said.
"Good luck with that" Matron stood, walking out of the building with ego.
Matron walked out too, her shoulders high till she's outside.
She dialled a line, waiting patiently as it rang till the line picked.
"Is the girl ready?" she asked with an eye roll.
"Make it clean" she added, hanging up before walking to her car.
She drove back home, fuming throughout the wheel roll till she got to her house where she threw her shoes off as usual.
"I shouldn't kill Ixora? Is she actually feeling like my boss right now? That lowly woman from the gutters? If not for the child trafficking business she started with Elder Creed's money, she'd still be a poor sewer rat by now, and she had the guts to tell me what to do? Pfft" She talked to herself, sitting down.
"Rafael? Mine, Ixora? Dead" she demonstrated, calling in her most trusted guard.
The man literally ran in.
"Tomorrow during Evelyn's show, kill Ixora" she ordered, looking up.
"She's not so simple, so don't go straight for her. You can just mess with her car or something" she said.
"Yes ma'am" the man took a bow and left.
"You're about to get the best birthday gift ever, Warren Creed" she smiled.

\[Creed's Family House\]
Warren is here.
He came straight from the hockey meet cos he might just have a scuffle with Konstantin if he went to the hideaway.
He has a room here, and he has been inside that room since he came.
It's past 2am in the morning, and Falsus is already back, so the bird is in the room with him.
The burning fire on the ground is already off, and the room is left in nothing but total darkness, but he kept sitting inside.
He's even playing scrabble, in that darkness.
How he's able to see the board is a mystery, but he's playing, and the sound of how he's moving the letters around the board is faint.
There are four letters on the board, forming a word... LIES.
He finished pushing them to a line and finally stood, dropping the board flatly on the fire ashes before leaving the dark room.
On getting to the living room, he met the lights off, and he was about to turn it on when he slammed into someone.
A gasp followed from the person, and he turned on the lights to see Matron.
With her scarf, bible and rosary as usual.
"Coming back from church, again?" He spoke.
"I have a lot to pray for" she smiled, and his eyes went to the ground where a pendulum pocket watch is.
It obviously fell from her.
Matron sighted it too, and she quickly picked it up, wrapping her hand on it.
"It's your birthday, I'm making you seafood and several other side dishes, you should invite your friends over for the feast" she said with another smile and entered the kitchen.
Warren whipped around, watching her enter before pushing an hand into his pocket.
He perceived tobacco from her, and she's coming from church?
Does alter incense smell like tobacco these days?
He left the living room and went to the outer porch, leaning on the rails as he checked his phone.
There are birthday texts, surprisingly.
Cap: Live long, gee.
Ash: 24 looks good on you, mate.
Fisa: I hear you don't take birthday gifts, but yunno what? Scratch your policy, I'll get you a Russian girl as a gift.
Konstant: ...
Yeah, Konstantin sent just three dots...he's as petty as that.
Then there's another message from Elder Creed.
Cripple: Happy 24th, son.
Warren's stomach twisted with disgust as he read that one, and he looked behind to see him.
He's on his wheelchair with Lydia behind him.
"Haven't hated phone all my life, till you sent your sour text" he said.
"I sent my captains to deliver 250 gold bars to your room at the hideaway, the price is more than 50 billion dollars if you decide to sell it...happy birthday again" the old man said.
Warren walked to him and took the wheelchair forcefully from Lydia.
He threw it off, and the old man fell from it, his knees hitting the ground and bleeding so bad.
"Young Lord!!" Lydia yelled.
"The gold bars in my room at the hideaway? Get it away, or I'll throw them into Mississippi river" he said with undiluted hate before starting to walk inside with knowing eyes.
Every deserving person will get a taste of the poison he's silently cooking.
Lydia quickly brought Elder Creed back to his wheelchair.
"You should tell him...tell him about her. His hate is too much. If you won't, I'll tell him!" She said.
"You will not say a word, Lydia. Take me to the hospital" Elder Creed said, holding his bleeding knees.
Lydia sighed and reluctantly wheeled his chair down the porch.
