What is that?
~Alexander~
"Oh my God," Daisy gasps as Alexander pulls up at their destination. "Jaydenz art gallery?" She asks in shock, turning to stare at him as he parks at the parking lot.
Alexander smiles as he turns off the ignition. Her excitement is definitely worth calling that dreadful friend of his and the harassment he's about to suffer.
"How did you know I've been anticipating this exhibition- oh wait. Social media stalker. I almost forgot," she muses, unbuckling her seat belt and getting out of the car.
"You are never gonna let that go, are you?" Alexander huffs, locking his car door.
"Nope," Daisy shakes her head, linking her hand through his arm as they make their way to the entrance. "I shall hold it against you for as long as you live," she says with a high end British accent, straightening her back and lifting her chin up.
Chuckling as he hands the man at the entrance his invitation, he plays along with her. "Of all the women in the world, I just had to be stuck with a wicked woman," he replies in a 'woe is me' manner as they walk through the crowd surrounding different art works.
Grinning, she reciprocates the dramatics with vigour. "Of all the men in the world, I just had to be stuck with a crybaby who can't even take a joke."
Jolting like he has been shot, he places a hand on his chest. "You wound me, my love."
Smirking, she stops in front of a painting with sparse individuals examining it. "Call me that too often and I might just get used to it," she bits her bottom lip, lightly gripping the edges of his jacket.
"Oh we can't have that. Can we," he leans down to whisper into her ears, lightly tracing the material above her bosom, "Roses and Dreams?"
Holding back her laughter, she nods curtly. "Why, certainly not, Asshole number one," she winks at him.
Alexander scoffs, remembering what is printed on his shirt. "You're really evil for actually printing this on my shirt, you know that?" He grumbles, adjusting his jacket.
"Well, don't cover it up," she laughs, pulling the jacket apart.
"People are staring," he says, glaring at a couple of giggling women across from them. They're even pointing. Shame on them.
Daisy trails his gaze to the women and shakes her head. Cupping his cheeks, she draws his attention back to her. "Since when did you care about what people think about you?"
His pupils dilate, the tingles extending from his cheeks down his entire body. He hums deeply, basking in her scent. Turning his face to lightly kiss her wrist, he takes her hand and wraps it around his arm. "Since forever. You just haven't noticed," he continues, staying in character. "This face," he circles the circumference of his face with his index finger, "is the pride and joy of Cilexx and you're rubbing it in the mud of embarrassment," he says, smirking when he notices how red her cheeks are.
Averting her eyes from his knowing stare, she clears her throat. "Mind you, some of the people here are going to be at the launch tomorrow so I am also commiting professional suicide to honour our deal, darling."
"The suicide duo," he sounds the name out, smacking his lips lightly. "A lovely name for the tabloids. I'm sure Janice and my aunts will have a good laugh about it," he says, turning to shield Daisy's face when he sees someone being sly with a camera. He swiftly directs her to the VVIP section without raising her suspicions. The interior of this section is more expensive and delicate artworks are kept here. Eyeing some sculptures made with torquise blue jade glass, he marvels at the details. Jayden really knows how to pick them.
"Speaking of laughs, your sexy video has taken its rightful place in my gallery."
Alexander nearly has a heart attack when he hears that. "Careful with that. You're holding over a billion dollars worth of exclusive footage in your phone. Oh what the paparazzi would give to get their hands on that."
She snorts, finally breaking character.
Smirking at the mini win he just got, Alexander keeps his hand on hers.
"I'm not stupid. It's in my home laptop. Besides I'm sure that whatever the media offers, you'll double it," she wiggles her brows.
"Ah," he nods. "Evil and a gold digger."
"I like to call it the money minded mentality," she says offhandedly as they pass the abstract painting section.
Alexander scoffs. "I like to call it blackmail."
"But of course, sweetheart. If I don't blackmail you, who will?" She smiles sweetly at his exasperated expression as they climb up the stairs to find something more interesting to look at.
"Several other desperate gold diggers but hey, potato, potahto, right?"
"Shut up," she snorts, smacking his arm. Stopping in front of a painting with a stout man is some kind of puffy royal regalia and an old fashioned dagger.
The two wolves tilt their heads at the painting, looking utterly confused. It's almost like an illusion painting. It looks like a tiger with their heads tilted and some kind of king with their heads straight.
"What is that?" Daisy asks.
"That..." Alexander trails off, glancing at the section they were in. Historical British paintings. "I have no idea. I know nothing about the humans' British history."
Her head snaps towards him. "You're a business man."
"You're a business woman," he retorts without skipping a beat.
"Touché," she concedes as they move to the emotive art section. She stops in front of a half skull paused in a loud screech with rainbows around it spilling down as though the bone is melting into a rainbow pool. "I love art. It's the colours and the emotions and the...yeah, this is just confusing."
Alexander laughs. "Be serious."
She grins, moving on until she sees something that catches her attention.
Alexander looks at the painting she's staring intently at when he hears her gasp. The artist used oil based paint judging from the quality. In the painting, shadows surround a blind woman kneeling in the rain. The woman cries tears of gold with sharp thorns lodged into her head. Her expression is the most intriguing. Anyone in that situation would be in pain or at least scared but the woman has a chilling smile of acceptance and total surrender on her pale face as she plays a stringed instrument, looking totally serene.
"Lyre of Saldana," Daisy reads the name of the painting on the slab underneath it.
"Beautiful, isn't it? Our best piece yet tonight," comes that dreadful French accent that immediately makes Alexander tense up.
"Jayden," the Alpha acknowledges the male omega, groaning mentally. He really hoped he wouldn't bump into him tonight but of course the damn wolf would sniff him out.
"Alexander, my love," Jayden smiles sweetly, standing on the tip of his toes to give Alexander a big kiss on his cheeks.
The Alpha just suffers through it with a straight face, trying so hard not to look at his mate. He doesn't need to look at Daisy to know she's laughing at him right now.
"I am so glad you could make it," the omega says, hugging him briefly before turning to look at Daisy. She has a perfect poker face on as though she wasn't laughing just a moment ago. "It seems z lady has a good eye for art, eh?"
"It would seem so indeed," Alexander grumbles, thanking God when Jayden leaves him alone to take his mate's hand.
"Magnifique!" Jayden exclaims. "I hope you find something you like," he smiles at Daisy, placing a chaste kiss on the back of her hand.
Despite knowing his friend's actions are harmless, Alexander can't help the growl that leaves his lips and his threathening aura that instantly pollute the air.
Chuckling, Jayden lets go of Daisy's hand. His once brown eyes are glowing a vibrant green but he tries to keep himself under control. It doesn't seem to be working with how much his lips are trembling. "Enjoy z exhibition, my loves," he says, an obvious whimper in his voice. "I need to vacate this vicinity before he takes my head off," Jayden jokes, swiftly leaving them alone.
Daisy laughs, slapping Alexander's chest. "Calm down, will you?"
Inhaling deeply, he tries to settle his pheromones.
"Is he French?" She asks, looking in the direction the omega just went through.
"No. He just likes the accent and flair that comes with it." And it's so annoying.
"I can certainly see the appeal, Alexander," she slurs, imitating Jayden's tone.
He scowls in disgust. "Drop it," he says but the moment he notices the mischievous glint in her eyes, he knows that this rubbish is sticking for at least two weeks. Damn Jayden!
"I don't know," she drawls, walking her fingers up his chest to caress his Adam's apple and tap his chin. "I'm seriously contemplating calling you with an accent from now on. Alexander."
He gets goosebumps when she does it again and not the good kind. "You know. I'm seriously starting to prefer Xandria to this."
"Really?"
Alexander glares at her bright smile. "No, Daisy. No."
