Chapter 886 She Is Truly Blessed

Chapter 886 She Is Truly Blessed

After enjoying a lavish lunch at the Grayson Mansion, the family gathered in the living room, chatting casually while watching television.

Suddenly, a breaking news report caught everyone's attention: "According to our sources, despite recent reports of His Highness Prince Totti's death, citizens claim to have spotted him today." The broadcast showed footage of Ethan and Ashley rehearsing their wedding at the Grayson Mansion.

The atmosphere in the room instantly grew tense.

"Ethan," Garrett said firmly, "we need to address this. If we don't provide an explanation, the media will sensationalize it, and somehow we'll end up looking like the guilty ones."

Ethan nodded gravely. "You're right."

Checking his watch, he turned to Ashley. "Darling, it's getting late. My parents and I should return to the palace to handle this situation. We'll stay in touch by phone over the next few days."

"Of course," Ashley agreed. "This shouldn't be difficult to explain."

They gazed into each other's eyes for a long moment before reluctantly breaking contact.

Ethan ruffled Andy and Nate's hair. "Boys, you'll come with me."

Though the children adored Ethan, they clung to Ashley. "Dad, we want to stay with Mommy," they protested.

Ethan smiled indulgently. "You little rascals, your mother is pregnant and needs her rest. You understand that, don't you?"

"Mommy," the boys quickly changed their tune, "we'll go with Dad to the palace. You stay home and rest—no overexerting yourself, okay?"

Ashley's eyes shone with happiness. Being cherished by both Ethan and the children filled her with a joy that made her smile radiate sweetness.

"Alright, I understand. Let me walk you out."

As everyone stood, John and Mia exchanged glances.

"Garrett, Ethan, let us see you off as well," John offered. Landon and Liam joined them.

Ethan smiled, gently guiding John and Mia back to the sofa. "It's getting dark and windy outside. You've had a long day and should rest. There's no need to see us out."

"But we insist—"

"Come now, we're family! No need for such formalities," William interjected. "John, you and the boys can stay and play chess with me. Mia, you should remain inside watching television. We wouldn't want you catching a chill."

"William's right," Ashley added. "I'll just walk Ethan out and be right back."

Finally convinced, everyone nodded. "Very well."

Ashley and Ethan exchanged smiles, then left with the children, Garrett, and Doris.

Outside the mansion, the wind had indeed picked up. Garrett and Doris led Andy and Nate to the waiting luxury car while Ashley and Ethan lingered, reluctant to part. She adjusted his coat, concerned he might catch cold.

"Darling, three days apart feels like an eternity," Ethan lamented.

Ashley laughed softly. "It's only three days—they'll pass quickly. After everything we've been through, this is nothing compared to—"

"Don't bring up those times," he interrupted. "They're behind us now."

A shadow crossed their faces as they remembered their six-year separation.

"Go on now," Ashley urged. "I'll be thinking of you."

Ethan pulled her close. "Wait for me. In three days, I'll come to make you my wife."

The thought made him visibly excited, and Ashley blushed. "I will."

She recalled how during the rehearsal, Ethan had turned crimson, stumbling over his words. She'd never heard him say "I love you" and wondered if their wedding day would finally bring those words.

A car horn sounded twice—Garrett's driver signaling it was time to leave.

With immense reluctance, Ethan turned to go. "Darling, I must leave now."

"Yes, you should—"

Before she could finish, he leaned down and captured her lips in a deep kiss. Initially surprised, Ashley soon responded with equal passion, both losing themselves in the moment.

Inside the car, Andy and Nate covered their eyes.

"Daddy and Mommy are kissing again!" they exclaimed, hiding their faces yet smiling at the happiness they sensed in their family.

Nate turned to his grandparents. "Grandpa, Grandma, when I grow up, I want to find someone who loves me too. I'll cherish her and cook delicious meals for her every day!"

Garrett and Doris exchanged amused glances.

"Nate," Garrett teased, "I haven't seen you for just a few months, and you've already gotten so chubby. If you don't slim down, you might struggle to find a bride."

Nate protested indignantly, "I'm still growing! Besides, who says chubby people can't find love?"

Garrett found his defiance charming rather than annoying.

Andy gave his brother a cold look. "Nate, you really should eat less. Even the kindergarteners are starting to avoid you. Think about your future!"

"You... you all..." Nate's eyes welled with tears. "Grandma, Andy's bullying me!"

Doris quickly consoled him. "That's enough, Andy. Why must you have your father's temperament? With such harsh words, you'll have your own challenges finding someone."

Andy crossed his arms and scoffed, "As if I care!"

Garrett and Doris exchanged concerned glances. Between Nate—boisterous and food-loving to the point of becoming rotund—and Andy—cold and seemingly indifferent—the adults found themselves somewhat at a loss.

Finally, Ethan opened the car door and slid in. "Father, let's go."

Nate and Andy immediately crowded around him. "Daddy, after you handle this situation, can you take us shopping?"

Ethan stroked their heads affectionately. "Of course I will."
