Chapter 2 Hot Night With Mr. Tattoo

KARA’S POV
I no longer know where Sancha and Louisse have gone. They simply disappear into the sea of people inside the club. And here I am, inside the Maserati of a man I do not even know. With every street we pass, I feel the cold breeze in the air, making me assume it is already early morning. The surroundings are quiet, yet peaceful.
“We’re here,” he announces.
Because my vision is already blurry from the effects of the hard drink I had earlier, I cannot make out which motel he is taking me to. “Let’s go,” he whispers, his voice low and filled with a heat that makes me shiver.
He pulls me out of the Maserati, and the cold air suddenly hits my skin, slightly sobering me up. I cannot clearly see the name of the motel. It looks like an old building with a flickering neon sign, but the letters blend together in my vision. He walks ahead, dragging me toward the entrance. Inside, the reception area is dim, smelling of cigarettes and old carpet. I see the receptionist, an elderly man sitting behind the counter, but I do not catch their conversation. I only hear hushed voices and the sound of money being counted.
“Room 12,” he says to me afterward, his smile sharp and filled with desire.
He wastes no time. As soon as we enter the room, he quickly shuts the door, the lock clicking like a signal that something irreversible has begun.
