Chapter 16 Sixteen
Seren was surprised by the naiveness displayed by Nova. Did she really think that with the Alpha’s mastery of Instinct Magic, he wouldn't realize when he was under a spell?
Or was she simply blinded by ambitions and the urge to trample any obstacles in her path to think rationally and logically?
Seren traced a finger along Kael's chest and looked at Nova pitifully, her voice smug, “How would my mate not know if he was under a spell given the level of his instinct magic?"
"Don't call him your mate, you deceiver!”, Nova lashed out, enraged.
“What should I call him then? Honey? Baby?", Seren countered, having alot of fun.
She could go at this all day but she didn't have all day…how regretful.
Nova made to speak again but she lacked the words she wanted to say.
“Silence, Lady Nova", Kael interrupted. “I assure you that I am of sound mind and I am not under any enchantment."
“But Alpha…", Nova protested.
“You shall not utter any more words of defamation against your Luna!", Kael growled.
“She's not my Luna! The Luna of this pack should be me!", Nova screamed.
Kael glanced at his Beta with hard glare and the Beta reluctantly moved.
Rian struck Nova hard on the face. The she-wolf cluched her cheeks in pain and disbelief and stared are Rian murderously.
Rian ignoring her glare, said monotonously, “You shall not speak rudely to the leaders of the pack, Lady Burndel. You should leave and inform your mentor of your offence. The Alpha shall decide your punishment after his appointment with the Luna."
And with that he motioned her towards the door. Nova glanced at the two wolves behind the oak desk in grievance but she was met with a hard face from the Alpha and a provocative gaze from the Luna.
She wished she could shred that Nightwind Bitch into pieces.
She gritted her teeth and followed Rian out of the door unwillingly.
Seren Nightwind, I, Nova Burndel, will toture you in the most cruelest way known in Lunaris and kill you. Nova vowed within her.
With the two wolves gone, Kael made to begin where her left off with his Luna but unfortunately for him, Seren had been looking for a moment of lack of vigilance from him and immediately scrambled off his laps.
Kael frowned at his empty arms and looked Seren with grievance, “Do you not wish to continue?”
Seren glared at him victoriously, "I have more important things to do. Infact we do because you haven't given me a reply!"
“Seren dear, If you want them gone, don’t fight them head-on. Make the pack condemn them themselves. Give them a stage and hand them their own rope.”
Seren smiled mischievously, drawing closer and closer to the doors of the study, “I think I have an idea of what you mean but it is with deep regret that I have to cut out meeting short.” And before Kael could reply she was out of the door with a flash.
Kael looked at his closed doors with a foolish smile. He was beginning to love this mate bond. He could have easily caught her but he had to prepare some things she might need.
Seren zoomed out of the Alpha Hall like someone was after her shocking both the manor servants, the two guards flanking the manor entrance and the coachman.
Soon she arrived home and avoiding her father and the Butler, she was nestled in the safety of her room.
She didn't have the courage to tell him that the rejection didn't go as planned.
Juts as she bounced onto her bed, she heard the familiar ping of the system and for the first time since she transmigrated, she missed it.

‘Where have you been this traitor?!’, Seren accused.
\[I apologize, Host. But there was an interference with our communication when you were in the presence of the Alpha.\]
‘Excuses! Lies! You were clearly communicating just fine when I was with him in the woods last night!’
\[This system wouldn't dare lie. There was indeed an interference. And the interference was from the mother system.\]
‘Why would it do that?’
\[Scanning: No directive found\]
‘Ugh…this is weird. Although there was communication interference, did you at least hear what I and Kael discussed?’
\[I did Host. Do you need ideas?\]
‘Do you have?’
\[I have 5 ideas you could execute\]
‘Tell me.’
\[The first one is going to exposing them in the market…..\]
The system went on and on for hours about its ideas and they were all rejected brutally by Seren.
‘This plan is too ridiculous!’
‘This plan has SEREN written all over it!’
‘This plan has too much political drama. I want nothing to do with that BS…’
‘This one could backfire. Scrap it!’
‘This one has too little face slapping! Not dramatic enough! Scrap it!’
‘What do you even have to offer as a system linked to me?! Scrap it!’
‘Forget it! I'll come up with one myself! Why did you claim to have ideas to begin with?!’
Seren sat up on her bed, frustrated. Kael told her to make the pack condemn the Burndels themselves but it was proving very hard.
\[I just had an idea, Host\]
‘Ugh….what do I have to discard now?’
\[Why not expose them at your Luna Induction?\]
Seren's eyes burned with building excitement, “My induction? That is a brilliant choice! The whole pack will be present for my induction….no Wait… I want my induction to be only about me…\]
‘Is there another event of Crescent Pack before my induction that requires everyone to attend?’
\[Yes. The Moon banquet. You could say the theme for this month’s banquet is to restore harmony between the Crescent Pack’s ranks after the mate-bond scandal.\]
Seren sat up and twirled around, eyes crinkling with joy. That was a very good day for the downfall of the Burndels.
‘When is the moon banquet going to be held?’
\[It is going to be held on the 31st day of Velyra since that is the day of the full moon.\]
‘Perfect…they rely on Selune’s image to maintain their grip on the pack which means… she can use Selune’s light itself to destroy them!’
