Chapter 34 My Punishment

Chapter 34 My Punishment
ERICA’S POV

Loki smiled, his eyes filled with warmth and affection. "Sometimes, love has a way of finding us when we least expect it," he said, his voice filled with tenderness. "I'm just grateful that we found each other."

As we lay there, basking in the afterglow of our love, a sense of unease washed over me. The council elders held great power and influence, and their approval was crucial for any relationships within the pack. I couldn't help but worry about the consequences of our forbidden love.

"Loki," I whispered, my voice trembling with fear. "What if the council elders find out about us? They won't approve of our relationship."

Loki's expression softened as he reached out to caress my cheek. "I understand your concerns, Erica," he said, his voice filled with reassurance. "But we can't let fear dictate our happiness. We deserve to love each other openly and without fear."

I nodded, understanding his words, but the worry still lingered in my heart. The council elders were traditional and held strong beliefs about the hierarchy within the pack. The idea of Luna being romantically involved with her driver would be seen as a breach of protocol.

"Let's keep our intimacy a secret, at least for now," I suggested, my voice filled with a mixture of caution and longing. "We can cherish these moments between us, but we must be careful. Our love is worth protecting."

Just as Loki and I shared a tender moment, the door burst open and Natasha stormed in, her eyes blazing with fury. Ronald followed close behind, a menacing grin spreading across his face.

"You're a disgrace, Erica!" Natasha spat, her voice venomous. "You're Luna, for crying out loud! You're supposed to be a role model, not some cheap floozy sleeping with a driver!"

Without warning, Natasha lunged at me, her hands wrapping around my throat. I tried to defend myself, but she was too strong. Ronald just stood there, watching as Natasha tried to strangle me.

Loki reacted quickly, tackling Ronald to the ground. The two of them wrestled, punches flying as they cursed each other.

"You're a driver's son, sleeping with a Luna?" Ronald snarled, his face twisted in disgust. "You're a disgrace, Loki!"

Loki's eyes flashed with anger, but he didn't back down. "I love her, Ronald," he growled. "And I won't let anyone hurt her!"

Meanwhile, Natasha's grip on my throat tightened.

Natasha's eyes narrowed, her face twisted in rage. "You're a disgrace, Erica!" she spat, launching herself at me again.

This time, her attack was more ferocious. She pinned me to the ground, her hands wrapping around my throat. I tried to defend myself, but she was too strong.

Just as I felt my consciousness slipping away, I saw a faint light appear before me. The moon goddess, Selene, materialized in a soft, ethereal glow.

"Natasha, stop!" Selene commanded, her voice like a gentle breeze. "You will not harm my child!"

Natasha's eyes widened, but she refused to listen. She continued to choke me, her grip tightening.

Selene's spirit form reached out, her hand passing through Natasha's shoulder. Suddenly, Natasha's eyes rolled back, and she collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

I gasped for air, my throat burning. Then, I saw Loki, bleeding on the floor. Ronald stood over him, a knife still in his hand.

Selene's spirit form turned to Ronald, her eyes blazing with a fierce light. "You will pay for your treachery," she said, her voice like a gentle whisper.

Ronald tried to run, but Selene's spirit form was too quick. She reached out, her hand passing through his heart. Ronald collapsed to the ground, his eyes frozen in shock.

Selene's spirit form turned to me, her eyes filled with a deep sadness. "Erica, my child, you have been reborn into the wrong timeline," she said, her voice like a gentle breeze. "You were meant for greatness, but you have misused your time."

I looked up at her, confusion and fear filling my heart. "What do you mean?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

"You have chased after love instead of fulfilling your destiny," Selene replied, her eyes filled with a deep sorrow. "You were meant to be a leader, a warrior, but you have let your heart rule your head."

I felt a pang of regret and sorrow. I knew that I had let my feelings for Loki cloud my judgment.

"For your mistake, you will lose everything," Selene continued. "Your love, your power, your very identity. You will be left with nothing but the memories of what could have been."

I felt a wave of despair wash over me. I had never felt so lost and alone.

"But there is still hope," Selene said, her voice filled with a gentle light. "You can still fulfill your destiny, but it will require great sacrifice."

I looked up at her, determination filling my heart. "I am ready," I said, my voice firm. "I will do whatever it takes to fulfill my destiny."

Selene's spirit form nodded, a small smile on her lips. "Then let us begin," she said, her voice like a gentle breeze.

Selene's spirit form nodded, a small smile on her lips. "Very well, Erica. I will give you another chance. But this time, you must focus on your destiny, not on love."

I accepted, knowing that I had been given a rare second chance.

"But, Moon Goddess, please," I begged, my voice filled with desperation. "Don't let Loki die. He doesn't deserve to suffer because of me."

Selene's expression softened, her eyes filled with compassion. "Very well, Erica. I will spare Loki's life, but his fate will be altered. He will not be reborn as your driver, and his ill fate will be lifted."

I felt a wave of relief wash over me, gratitude filling my heart. "Thank you, Moon Goddess," I said, my voice filled with sincerity.

"But remember, Erica," Selene continued, her voice firm. "This is your last chance. You must fulfill your destiny, no matter what the cost."

I nodded, determination filling my heart. I knew that I would do whatever it took to fulfill my destiny, no matter how difficult the journey may be.

And with that, everything went black, and I was reborn into a new timeline, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
