Estevan
The day was already dawning and the city was still bustling, it was no longer raining and the flames were quickly extinguished, leaving only trails of destruction, death and ashes in their wake.
Alexia was in town, she had been an intermediary for me to communicate with my parents who were still in the castle.
The doors were opened to rescue and care for the wounded. Doctors from all over the country were working into the early hours of the morning to save as many lives as possible, but some of the most serious patients were taken to the castle's medical ward.
The hospitals filled up fast, the atmosphere was chaotic, people were afraid.
It had been a long time since we'd had a dragon attack, it wasn't even considered anymore since I'd bonded with a water dragon who protected the kingdom, but now all seemed lost as I saw him lying on the ground fighting for his life, my heart breaking.
The almost thirty-meter-long dragon, which had large scales and resembled a sea serpent, had never done me any harm; on the contrary, it had been my guardian and saved me on the high seas.
Since then he had stayed in Olimper, and even though I didn't understand how he had become attached to me, I felt lucky to have him as my guardian and friend.
I stroked his head and he could barely keep his eyes open, I wouldn't crowd the castle until he was well, I wouldn't leave his side after he had protected Olimper again.
The huge rip in his stomach defied the laws of nature, how could he stay alive?
He seemed to struggle every second, his breathing heavy, his body already cold.
I felt someone tugging at my shirt, and I looked up into the eyes of a girl with pale skin, slanted eyes and a fringe.
She looked me in the eye and said:
"Say goodbye to him, let him go."
I looked at the dragon, who seemed to be taking his last breaths, and I understood: he was suffering and if I didn't say goodbye he would continue fighting even though he had no chance of staying alive.
I turned to the girl and didn't see her again. I focused my eyes on her and approached her, touching her cliffs.
"I would have died on the high seas the day the ship was attacked, you wiped out my enemies and have looked after the kingdom ever since, my traveling companion." I smoothed the thickness of his body and heard a grunt of pain, my chest felt tight and tears threatened to come, I swiped them away with the back of my hand. "I had hoped to have hundreds of sea voyages with you, my friend. Thank you for looking after Olimper and me!"
His eyes stared at me, I could feel his feelings, in a flash hundreds of scenes passed through them, sharing a life with me, unknown paths, the island of dragons, the depths of the ocean until the glow in his eyes faded leaving only an empty void in my chest.

Alexia
My eyes were locked on the ten-year-old girl being pulled out from under the wreckage, she was screaming in pain and as she came out her legs were severed, blood splattered everywhere as the doctor acted quickly to make a makeshift tourniquet to stop the bleeding.
She was dead in five seconds.
I looked around at the soot, ash and dust in the city.
The bad smell of burning was due to bodies that had been pulverized by the flames.
But we had done almost everything we could, the hospitals were full and the kingdom's medical wing had opened its doors.
I had hardly looked at the kings' faces or Estevan's, preferring to stay in the city where the first aid knowledge I had learned would be more useful.
I wanted to give Estevan words of comfort, but I didn't think his dragon would survive and I didn't have the mind to listen to Soraya or Acacio discussing the kingdom and what needed to be done.
I continued without food or drink in the city, helping out as I could until I felt exhaustion take hold of me around three in the afternoon, when I sat down and ate a piece of dry bread with water in the shade.
Horse noises drew my attention to the street, and seeing Estevan's face made me get up from the ground, he stopped the horse and got off.
"How are things here?" He asked with a serious look on his face, and I looked around.
"We helped everyone," I said and looked into his eyes.
His face was hardened, he looked different, cold.
"Is he gone?" I asked and Estevan just nodded, I was about to open my mouth when he said:
"Let's go back to the castle."
I shook my head in agreement, Estevan didn't seem to want to talk and I was going to respect that. He got on his horse and held up his hand to pull me up too.
The journey took a little over three hours, so we arrived after the sun had set.
My clothes torn, the sweat on my body and my hair disheveled and tangled, I just wanted to take a shower and lie down.
"I need to talk to my parents," said Estevan at the foot of the stairs.
"I'll wait for you in the bedroom," I said and he nodded. I climbed the stairs exhausted, the excessive hours without eating in the sun without even hydrating myself properly had caused my body to loosen up more than necessary.
I felt emotionally shaken and physically exhausted, I took a shower, my reflection in the mirror, the skin of which I had taken a more tanned tone is something I have never had.
I lay down on the bed and closed my eyes. Despite my tiredness, I couldn't sleep, the screams, the horror, everything I had seen during the day was still running through my mind.
I got up and wandered around the castle thoughtfully, climbing several flights of stairs until I reached one of the towers where I observed the view from above, my dragon lying on the field was still present, as if it were waiting for Olimper.
I observed the city, which from afar didn't seem to have suffered so much, only three large buildings had fallen, small houses and shops that couldn't be numbered or seen from a distance, Olimper was huge and incredibly beautiful from afar.
I faithfully believed that this dragon was not just any dragon, but George's dragon that I had seen for years and that this attack was not random, but very well orchestrated by George and Charlotte, which brought a great tightness to my chest as I felt guilty for everything that was happening.
When I went downstairs to return to my room, one of the guards bowed when he saw me and began to say:
"Your Highness, King Acacius wishes to see you."
