Mariah
Thomas's screams from the corridor were heard throughout the castle, his carer managed to get him out with Lorenzo who looked at me seriously, we accompanied him to his room and after closing the door Lorenzo stopped in front of me.
"I know what you're going to say"
"Do you really know?"
"Yes, that it was a mistake to bring him to Olimper"
"He was happier in Letrons, he could at least have peace. Noise and turmoil are not good for Thomas" Lorenzo sighed "Where is the queen?"
"She left to look for Estevan and hasn't come back yet."
Lorenzo nodded, I could tell that his head was full and that this situation was making him ill, he approached me and kissed my forehead.
"I'll take it up with her," he said, leaving me alone.
It had been a month since Estevan had disappeared and Alexia continued to look for him every day, always arriving a little more sunburnt, having to sort out hundreds of things in the kingdom and looking increasingly tired.
When I spotted Alexia through the window, I went to the throne room where she was still climbing down from Silver.
"Any leads?"
"No, there's still no trace of Estevan," she said seriously and then looked into my face.
"Mariah, what's wrong? Your expression isn't good"
"It's Thomas. He had another outburst today"
"This is becoming more recurrent," said Alexia, she looked thoughtful and then opened her hand, unwrapping a piece of purple cloth that showed a flower.
"What's that?" I frowned in confusion.
"It's the last thing I needed to help Thomas" She carefully rewrapped the flower "Thomas has been cursed by a powerful witch, but I think I can reverse his spell"
"And how would you do that?"
"Not me, us"
I looked at her confused.
"We?"
"Yes, me, you and Camila and Lorenzo" Alexia started walking at a fast pace and I followed her as she spoke "I know it sounds confusing now, but I've been studying a lot of old books from my lineage, we use healing and spell breaking a lot, Camila has been helping me learn Latin and she has a specific spell that I believe can break Thomas' curse"
"That's crazy Alexia, you don't know how to use spells. What's to say it can't turn into a tragedy? Why can't your cousin invoke the spell?"
"She's from the Alencar lineage, while I'm not only Alencar, but also from the Nirvas who use this kind of magic."
"What if Thomas gets worse?"
Alexia looked at me nervously.
"Mariah, you don't want me to be content with watching him suffer all his life knowing that I can do something to change his condition, do you? If there's a chance of making him better, we have to have faith, otherwise I'll be even more dedicated to looking after Thomas and giving him all the assistance he needs, but I've been studying for weeks and I faithfully believe that we'll make it!"
I opened and closed my mouth, feeling the weight of responsibility, but at the same time I wanted more than anything to see Thomas happy, sick of seeing a man who seemed to have a pure soul always tormented in the corners of the castle, trapped in his own hell.
"When are we going to do this?"
"At midnight when everyone is asleep, at the top of the tower"

Estevan
It was as if I were a ghost, I was constantly imagining Alexia next to me, hugging the sheets and falling asleep, dreaming of her and waking up looking for her in bed.
I didn't know what else to do and I was getting more and more desperate every day, it had been a month, staring at the sea for hours, that big cliff in front of me looked inviting, but I would be dead if I did that.
I was getting so desperate to get back that crazy and pointless ideas like swimming back crossed my mind, building a boat wasn't an option because of the abyss that separated me from the sea.
There was no way I could take the boat out to sea, no way I could swim back and not even the possibility of going down without all my bones breaking when I hit the sea.
The only way was for Prince to take me back, but she was still as reluctant as on the first day.
Kanue sat down next to me and remained silent, I continued to stroke one of the dragons, Prince's son, who was lying next to me while I looked at the last rays of light, trying to imagine what Alexia would be like now.
"Alexia would love to know that Prince has had cubs or that I'm alive" I paused, my heart seeming to squeeze hard "I miss her so much that sometimes it's hard even to breathe"
"Then you should look the other way"
I frowned and looked at Kanue, who nodded towards the forest.
"Look for another dragon, connect to it"
"It's not that easy to connect with a dragon and you know it!"
"You haven't even tried and you're already giving up, so it really isn't easy, it's impossible" He stood up and patted the dirt on his pants "Prince doesn't look like she's going to give in any time soon, she's afraid that when she comes back you'll live, she's protecting you, she doesn't understand that you also have a family to take care of, because for her you're part of her family, so her best alternative is to convince another dragon to take you away"
Kanue left leaving me alone with my thoughts, I looked at the dragon sleeping next to me and Prince who was sleeping a little further away with the other chicks, I stood up and shook the dust off my pants, I looked in one direction only the forest and then I walked towards it, willing to face any danger that came totally unprotected with a single focus.
I had to get home.
