Jess’s POV

“Cheers. Ok so that’s the protecting witches and the snipers sorted what about everyone else?”

“The medics will be fine they will finish setting up the camp and making the medical tent functional. I am hoping that no one will have to use it though. Kieran is going to sort out the troops, and I will get Amber, Christina and Paul to help sort out the fighting witches”

“What about William and his gang has Hayley been able to contact him?”

“Yes, my darling she did” I squealed and jumped as William appeared right beside me

“I ought to kick your arse for that”

“Yes, you feisty little thing but you won’t as I am your uncle William and you love me”

“Not by blood you’re not” I laughed as I turned towards the group of snipers and witches that were walking towards me. “Ok I want you to all follow me and be as quiet as possible. Haley and Oscar are coming with us in case anyone needs help getting up the mountain. Does everyone have their weapon?” I could see that they were all nervous “Ok let’s head out. When you are up on the ledge just remain calm. Only shoot if you have a clear aim. Remember that you are not the only one out there and another sniper might have a better shot” With that I set out with Oscar on my right and Hayley on my left. Everyone else trailed behind. I noticed that my mum was not in this group of witches so she must be one of the witches that will be on the ground. I was not happy about it but I also knew that my mum would want to be close to Justin and me. I stopped at the first mountain. “Ok I want eighteen snipers and two witches please” I waited and no one moved “Fine if you want to be kids about it. I will choose who is in what group. If I touch your arm start climbing” I picked my first sniper team and watched as they all climbed up the mountain. I was glad that the ledge was not high up and this mountain was easy to climb. I made sure that everyone had made it to the ledge and then I set off with the rest of the group to the next mountain. By the time we made it back to camp everyone was waiting for us.

“Did the witches and snipers get set up ok?”

“Yes, they are in position and waiting”

“Good, right your dad is in charge of everyone staying here. The other protection witches are in position. Right, everyone we are about to go and ambush these bastards. If any surrender, then we let them live. I do not think that they will though. I have a feeling this will be a kill or be killed fight. I want us to be as quiet as possible. I do not want them knowing we are there until we start to attack. Ok let’s head out. I will lead with Jess, Kieran, Hayley, Oscar, William and his gang. Let’s win this thing” I took a deep breath and followed John into the cave. John motioned for everyone to stop when we got close to the clearing. “Jess go and scope out for me” John spoke directly in to my mind. I nodded and went to see what was going on. I looked up at the ledges and was stocked that I could not see anyone up there. I hid behind a tree and looked towards the ship. I opened up so that John, Kieran and Hayley could see what I was seeing. The aliens looked like they were setting up camp. I saw them setting up cages and it made my blood run cold. On the bright side it looked like they had no idea that they were been watched.  Felt sorry for the witches and snipers who had just been watching this without been able to do anything until we arrived. I silently snook back to the others. John crept forward and motioned with his hand for everyone to follow. We all silently crept until we were just a couple of trees away. He nodded at William and he disappeared along with his gang. Hayley and Oscar waited a couple of seconds so that she could give me a kiss on the cheek before they joined him. I leaned down to check that my knife was in its ankle hoister still and nodded at John as I pulled my other knife from my hip. I saw others getting out there knives too. John held up his hand and started to count down from three with his fingers. When his last finger went down, we all ran in to the clearing screaming. I slit the throat of the first alien that I came across. Another came charging at me, I flipped over him and landed between two of them. I spun around and slit both of their throats in one fluid motion. I saw Hayley break a neck and Nick pulled the heart out of another. I did a quick scan between kills to make sure that the newbie’s where ok. I heard something running up behind me and turned just in time to see its brains get blown. I had no idea who had killed it, but I owed them a beer. I saw an alien sneaking up on Paul as he was fighting another. I ran over and stabbed it in the back before it had time to attack. Paul gave me a thankful glance as he moved on to his next target. I tried to find Justin and was proud to see him taking down alien after alien. Finally, the war was over when we were the only ones left standing. I ran over to John so that we could assess the damage.

“How many men went down?”

“We did well only eight got injured. They were taken back to camp”

“Wow we won. Where is Grantan?” I looked around as I asked but I could not see him anywhere.

“He did not want to watch so he is back at camp with the others”

“I can understand that. Have you heard from the women?”

“Yes, I ran then when you were finishing the last few aliens. They are fine and heading back home”

Kieran came up behind and wrapped his arms around me “Well I don’t know about you, but I think that we should be entitled to some time off so that we can go on holiday and have a really honeymoon, since we did save the world and all”

I laughed as I took his hand and walked back to camp leaving the devastation behind us.
