Chapter 92─Mishka gets a revelation through a dream
Mishka woke up with a start. She was breathing heavily and gasping for breath.
“It’s still dark, so, what woke me?” she asked, rubbing her eyes. She looked around her half-lit bedroom trying to see what woke her up.
“It was that dream. It’s about something that happened. Oh, wait.
We were waiting to find out where Bruce went until it was so late that Joan and I had to go home. Is he in some kind of real trouble then?” Mishka asked herself in confusion.
Then just now, I saw him in a dream. In a house on a mountain. But, what is he doing there? Is he in danger? It felt really wrong,” she mumbled, trying to clear her mind.
“It felt like a nightmare, so, let me go and get myself some hot chocolate,” she told herself firmly.
Downstairs in the kitchen, Mishka’s mind began to clear up.
“Bruce went missing from the ball last night, that’s why I feel so strange.
But, can it be that he’s in that place that I saw in a dream a few moments ago?” she asked herself as she prepared her hot chocolate.
“It’s just as well that I’m alone down here tonight, so I can think clearly without any interruptions.
If Bruce is missing and in that house amongst the mountains, then he’s in trouble.
He never showed up to pick up his phone. He didn’t send a message to Graham or anyone else to collect it for him either,” Mishka whispered to herself as she began to sip on her hot chocolate.
“This feels so bad. It’s a bad dream, but at the same time it’s real,” she muttered as her body became rigid from the tension and the cold that was taking hold of her.
“Why didn’t I put on my nightgown? I actually feel sick in a way,” she muttered.
“I need someone to help me figure out the dream and I will know exactly what to think and expect,” she advised herself.
When she was done with her hot chocolate, Mishka returned to her bedroom and got back under her bedcovers.
“This time I can’t blame Grandma for my nightmare,” she mumbled to herself.
She lay still for a moment, waiting for sleep to reclaim her body and her senses, when suddenly a thought occurred to her.
“I can discreetly go to Rose and ask her what the dream means. She’s sure to know and hopefully she doesn’t tell Grandma anything,” Mishka whispered to herself.
“Great, that will help, but I must find out from Graham whether Bruce is really missing. First thing in the morning,” Mishka whispered before nodding off to a dreamless sleep this time.

“No, Bruce is not back, unfortunately and according to the law we have to wait for twenty-four hours before reporting him as missing,” Graham responded when Mishka called him the next morning.
“So, what should we do? Are we just gonna wait for him to show up while the time passes?” Mishka asked.
“I suppose that’s all that we can do according to the law, but I think that we should start our own investigation,” Graham responded.
“Do you have an idea of how you’re going to do it?” Mishka asked anxiously.
“I will figure something out after I’ve discussed it with Lyle, Bruce’s cousin,” Graham replied.
“I suppose that they have their specific ways of dealing with this kind of situations as a werewolf community. But why am I still so worried?” Mishka asked herself inwardly.
“It will be a relief if you guys could figure out exactly where he is without wasting time,” she remarked.
“Yes, we have to do something very quickly. We have to find out exactly who has a grudge against Bruce in case he’s abducted,” Graham mentioned in a serious tone of voice.
“I won’t be able to help you out with hints there, I’m afraid. The only furious person that I know of is Jean, but she seemed surprised to hear that Bruce was thought to be missing,” Mishka pointed out.
“Well, we can’t rule anyone out. Jean can be just as guilty as anyone else if Bruce is abducted. So, we’re going to be working very fast. We have to interrogate everyone who had issues with Bruce,” Graham responded in a grim tone of voice.
“Alright then, I will be in touch with you again during the day if he hasn’t shown up yet,” Mishka responded in a wavering tone of voice. She wished that she could participate in the search.
“But they probably won’t want outside interferences as a wolf community. I’m going to have to do my own investigation,” Mishka told herself before ending Graham’s call.
“It’s Sunday morning again and I’ve had a bad dream again last night. Must I go to church to feel better first, or should I carry on with my own search for Bruce?” Mishka asked herself.
“Last time I went to church after I had a bad dream and it helped.
Now I’m in the same situation. I suppose I should go again and from there I can go straight to Rose,” Mishka told herself as she sipped at her morning coffee in her bedroom.
Later on the church service made her feel calm and peaceful, while Milla was sitting next to her.
Milla had insisted on going to church with Mishka because of what she had seen on the video down in the mansion basement the previous evening.
“There’s something that we should talk about at church,” Milla had explained when Mishka had asked if she wouldn’t get into trouble for going to church in the morning instead of assisting the cook with lunch preparations.
“I won’t be in trouble for going to church when it’s not my weekend off because at the moment I can’t function anyway,” Milla had explained.
“Well then, maybe you can help me with my challenge. Maybe I need someone with me today, because I can’t figure everything out on my own either,” Mishka had responded.
“So, now she will have to tell me about the cat being a magician and I will have to tell her that I have a crush on a famous guy who now seems to be missing,” Mishka told herself as she sang along with the rest of the church goers.
There had been no time for serious talk on her and Milla’s way to church.
“So, after church there will be shocks and realizations on both sides,” Mishka thought to herself.
When the last prayer was said and the church service was officially over, Mishka turned around and looked in the direction of the door.
She was shocked to see Myrtle turn around and head out of the church door.
“Milla, did you know that Grandma was in church with us?” Mishka asked in shock as she stared at Milla in shock.
