The She-Wolf Alpha's Fury Volume 2
The second part of the book tells the story of **Leonor and Anton** and takes place in the same universe as the first story but with **different couples**.
MONTHS BEFORE
My heart roared in my chest as my feet crushed the dry leaves covering the ground, each step taking me closer to Hunter, the alpha I was supposed to marry. My father's arm, intertwined with mine, was like steel, keeping me firm and guiding me toward a sealed commitment made when I was still a cub.
The full moon reflected through the trunks of the trees, illuminating the path that would lead me to him. My future husband.
It was a pact. The firstborn of each pack leader was meant to unite in marriage, sealing the peace between both packs and increasing our power, thereby strengthening our force.
I raised my face, watching Hunter standing before Bason, the old patriarch of the packs. His age remained a mystery to many, but the wrinkled skin of his face, his few white hairs like snow, and his deep, experienced brown eyes indicated he was very, very old.
My fiancé had a serious expression, not a single smile. He was like that most of the time, showing no emotion.
I pressed my lips together, holding my breath.
Hunter was beautiful.
Short, dark brown hair; eyes a very intense brown, with some honey-colored freckles in the center, matching his golden skin. His height and broad shoulders made his presence more imposing, as did his strong, defined arms.
The white shirt he wore had the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Black pants clung to the toned muscles of his legs, the hem revealing his bare feet.
I scanned his sculpted face again. Defined jawline, clean-shaven. Full but defined lips. Straight nose.
His smile, which was occasionally directed at me, made my heart collapse in my chest.
I swallowed a sigh, containing the intensity of the feelings that overwhelmed me.
I loved him.
Although, in the beginning, it was just an agreement between our parents, we learned to live with it and created a bond. He was eight years older than me and had always been a part of my life.
It was too easy to fall in love with him. Handsome, strong, and an alpha, desired by every female in the pack.
My first kiss, at sixteen, was with him; as was my first time, a few months ago, after a bonfire party. And all the others since then.
Out of heat, I could never get pregnant. And my parents made sure to keep my fertility under control until marriage. They had no idea that Hunter and I had already rushed things, or I would be dead.
Knowing that he was mine, that he was meant for me, made me feel so proud.
It had been years of dedication and strict upbringing, so I could become the perfect wife for the alpha. I was forbidden from going to parties, never allowed to have a friend, and prohibited from speaking to any male who wasn't family.
My freedom only began when Hunter showed interest in me for the first time, just before we kissed. With him, my parents allowed me to go out; after all, he would be my husband.
Marrying him was a fact that had been present for most of my life, so I never allowed myself to feel attracted to any male who wasn't him. And I didn’t regret it.
Hunter had always been perfect.
This was the happiest day of my life. The day I would finally marry him and live in peace, free from my father and all his aggression.
As if sensing the path of my thoughts, he squeezed my arm against his. A subtle touch, a small reminder of what was expected of me.
Being free from him was the best part of it all.
He wasn't a good male, nor a good alpha, husband, or father.
He oppressed me, my mom, and Selena, my younger sister.
The pack didn’t respect him; they only feared him. And I didn’t think that was, by any means, something to be proud of, but he did.
Because he hadn’t had a male child, no alpha to follow his legacy, he placed all his expectations on me. He hoped that I would have a male child with Hunter, thereby giving our pack the alpha who would carry on his legacy after his death.
Only males were born alphas. Selena and I were omegas like our mother, Diana.
That’s why any shred of freedom I had was taken away when I was eight years old, once my father, Alpha James, and Hunter’s father, Alpha Caspian, sealed an agreement with blood.
My eyes flew to where my sister was, beside our mother, ahead of everyone.
With her dark brown hair tied in a braid falling over her right shoulder, her blue eyes, like mine, showing concern. Selena wore a simple green long dress that hugged her slim body with small curves in the right places.
She wasn’t the biggest fan of my fiancé. Selena hated Hunter with all her might and was totally against the marriage by obligation. She said I couldn’t see the truth about him, that I was just a foolish, lovestruck girl.
But how could I avoid falling in love when I had spent my entire life preparing for this moment? It was much easier to accept the destiny awaiting me than to reject it and despise it.
I let my gaze wander to my mother, who, unlike my sister, wore a smile of satisfaction and pride, the same as my father’s. Her blonde hair was pulled back, tied on top of her head. And she wore a dark dress that covered all the curves of her body to please my father, who hated when she showed too much.
My dress was simple. White, made of smooth silk, thin straps, and a straight neckline. The skirt wasn’t voluminous, but it moved with every barefoot step I took down the long, decorated hallway. A veil, pinned to my hair, flowed down my face.
It wasn’t extravagant at all; it followed the standard of union ceremonies that occasionally took place in the packs.
To my right stood Hunter’s pack, my new family. While to my left was my birth pack.
I quickly scanned them. And I didn’t feel a single thing about leaving the pack behind. I hoped that things would be better in my new family. In my old one, the males didn’t respect the females, whether they were omegas or betas. They were reflections of the legacy my father was leaving as the leader, just as his father had done. I, on the other hand, had hopes that my son would break this paradigm.
Hunter wouldn’t oppose it; I knew that by the respectful way he treated me whenever we met.
I raised my face, keeping my steps firm and determined as I walked down the hallway covered with dry leaves and white tulip petals.
Caspian stood behind his son, showing a wide smile of satisfaction.
I blinked slowly, inhaling the cold night air and stared at Hunter once more.
