Messenger of the Moon Goddess
Messenger of the Moon Goddess
Kairo's POV
Alea. Alea. Alea.
I wanted to talk, but knew I wasn't supposed to. As far as I've heard from Alea, they were her family, but still, she's my Luna and also the Phantom Queen, she deserves respect but I wasn't the one to tell them that.
Since Alea wasn't complaining, then I had no reason to.
“Elder. A pandemic broke out in the pack” Alea started and from the way the man looked unfazed, it seemed he had heard about it.
“I know, Alea” he said, “While on our way here, a patient was being transported so I went to take a look” Darin said and then stood up, his left hand mid air as he paced around.
“As much as I've been thinking about it before I got here, I couldn't find a reasonable conclusion to call what the disease is, Alpha” Darin said, bringing his gaze to me.
I heaved a sigh, my hand resting on my thigh as I couldn't think about a reasonable solution to the issue we had.
My heart was aching, my head getting filled with different thoughts. The people were suffering and even my wolf wouldn't talk to me.
Ever since Alucard had taken me away from here, it hadn't been like I had a wolf. I couldn't feel it, couldn't hear its voice, couldn't feel like it existed.
Ragnar was doing nothing to help me, he wasn't showing himself to me.
I was still thinking about this when the door opened ajar, bright light threatening to blind our eyes.
My hand went to cover my eyes, but I still squinted my gaze open.
I watched and so did the others in the room but there was no one coming in.
The door closed, yet the bright light didn't disappear. I stood up from my throne and so did Alea.
“What the hell was happening?” I muttered, the question being directed to no one in particular.
Then my gaze was forced to dart to the scrolls in front of me which were moving on their own.
My gaze widened, as I knew this was beyond normal.
“There's someone in here,” Alea said, her voice slightly trembling.
“Nyra can sense it's a man” She added and for a moment, I thought about my wolf again. It would have been able to sense this too if he was here, but he had locked himself deep inside me, away from our world.
“Can you see him?” I asked Alea, my voice more like a whisper.
“I can't, but I think he's holding the scrolls” She said, gaze darkening like she was preparing for a world war.
“Who are you?” I asked, voice dark and dangerous as I faced the air, not sure if there was really someone I was talking to. But there had to be, he was holding the scrolls after all.
“From what is in here, it looks like your ministers want you out, Kairo” A voice roared across the room and my gaze darkened. Whoever he was, he had no respect. He called me by my name and as much as I would love to grab his hair and force his knees to the floor, I couldn't even see who was talking to me.
“I bet the pandemic is an excuse to accuse you of not being worthy of their leader” He added and I was sure he was still staring at the scroll.
I hadn't even taken a look at the scrolls that had been delivered to me though I knew it was all full of the minister's complaints, all written anonymously. They feared me, they really do, but they prefer doing things anonymously than saying it to my face.
“You…..” Darin's voice roared through the room. “What are you? Show your face this instant!” He yelled, like he could control the man who was trying to create a ruckus here.
Just like Elder Darin's authority worked on him, he showed his face, revealing himself.
A man dressed in white robes, long white hair that falls down to his shoulder. He didn't look old, instead we would be in the same age range.
He had a wooden flabellum fan in his hand as he fanned himself with it even though there was no heat in the palace hall.
“The….. Messenger?” Darin's eyes widened as he looked at the man who smirked because someone finally realized who he was.
Darin fell to his knees, clasping his hands together as he bowed. “Offer your greetings. He's the only messenger of the moon goddess” Darin said to the people who came with him and for a moment, it felt like I couldn't hear him well.
A messenger of the moon goddess? The Atlas we've heard about for years??
The people behind Darin also fell to their knees with only Alea, the messenger and I remaining standing.
I stared at the man who was still taking pleasure in the people kneeling in front of him for a while before I got down from the throne and moved to him, stopping right in front of me.
Alea also descended and stood beside me while I looked him in the eye before asking.
“You are Atlas?” I asked and then he faced me.
“Did I scare you, Alpha Kairo?” He smiled. The man doesn't look like someone I could trust, his smile doesn't even look genuine enough for me to start thinking he was truly sent here by the moon goddess.
“I'm Atlas,” he said. Fucking loud enough that I had to close my ears.
His aura. So strong, so convincing that he's truly the moon goddess's messenger.
He continued, “The heart and soul of Selene, the moon goddess” It was echoing, so much that his voice scared me.
“I hold up the communication between heaven and the earth” He spread his arms wide and some strange wind blew through the whole hall that I was forced to stagger backward.
He's powerful. Mysterious. Indeed, he's Atlas. The messenger of the moon goddess.
