Chapter 57: Cindy’s Arrival

William’s POV

I still had no idea about the place Amelia had visited. I thought asking her was the best thing to do but I changed my mind. I placed my phone on the couch while I stared at Amelia who was sleeping on the couch. “Are you cold?” I asked. I didn’t wait for her to respond, I quickly left to get a blanket.

I watched Amelia shivering with her teeth clenched together. Does it mean she’s not supposed to stay out when it’s cold? I decided to run her a warm bath. While I had done that, I helped her undress before taking her to the bathroom. I also made hot coffee for her to take. I handed her the coffee while she was still in the bath.

She smiled. “Thank you.”

While she was still sitting and soaked in the bath, I sat beside her while I stroked her hair. Just then she was done so she came out from the bath and I quickly wrapped her in a warm towel.

Amelia thanked me again, I had told her not to mention but she won’t listen.

After some time, she slept, and just immediately, I got a call from Cindy.

“How dare you do this to me? You had the guts to let Amelia humiliate me.”

“What are you talking about?” I asked.

“You had no idea Amelia sent me a message on your phone pretending to be you, she told me to meet up with her and I had no idea it wasn't you who sent the message.”

“She did that?” I asked, surprised.

“Stop pretending you knew nothing about it, this was your idea right? You just wanted me to get humiliated.”

“I had no idea she did that, but still I see nothing wrong with what she did.”

“What? How will you say that.”

“What were you expecting me to say? Oh, you actually wanted me to be against her? Nah, she's my woman and whatever she does just to be with me while chasing every other woman from my life is accepted.” I spat.

“Did you see the newspaper? My pictures are everywhere on the internet.”

“That serves you right—”

Cindy laughed. “You should check, Amelia seems like the one who will end up being humiliated. People must have seen her threatening me at the restaurant where we met.”

I picked-up my second phone, and I realized Cindy was right. Amelia had done this to herself and I had no idea how she would react if she saw this.

The next day, Amelia woke me up, she had woken up before me. She had already made breakfast and she seemed happy. I guess she had not checked the news.

“You’re fine?” She asked.

She raised her eyebrows wondering why I was asking her that, “Oh about yesterday huh? Don’t mind those guys, I’m glad you saved me.”

I realized she still doesn’t know what I’m talking about. “You met with Cindy yesterday, didn’t you?”

“Huh,”

“Yeah, I know, so you don’t have to pretend you didn’t.” I said.

“She told you this, I know she did, she’s just—”

“Just stop talking, take your phone.”

“Why?” She asked, raising her eyebrow.

“Just do as I say.” I muttered.

She picked up her phone this time, held it in her hands and was wondering why I was saying all I was saying.

“Are you upset I met with her?” She asked, with a low voice. She acted so calm.

“That’s not it, you should just be more careful when you meet with her next time.” I said and Amelia’s mood changed Immediately.

“What, who did this?” She said, staring at her phone.

“I see you know exactly what i'm talking about now, you shouldn’t behave that way openly.”

“Fuck, I didn’t see this coming.” She said,

“Why didn’t you tell me you were going to meet up with her?”

“You won’t let me go. Gosh, I feel so terrible right now, how am I going to leave the house with all this going on.”

“That’s why I'm here, to always protect you. I will always go with you and you don’t have to care about what people will actually say.”

Amelia smiled. “That's so sweet of you, that’s why I love you.

“I will always have your back.”

Amelia blushed. “But that girl is something else, she actually didn’t plan to let us be. A lot of people are against our relationship.”

“That shouldn't be your problem, I will handle all of that. I will tell the press to bring down the news and pictures about you, I will do anything for you.”

“You’re such a darling.” She smiled.

“I really can’t imagine life without you.”

Everywhere was calm, the silence was palpable but a knock disrupted everything. I only hoped the press hadn't found out where I was living. I was going to open the door but Amelia held my hand.

“Don’t open the door, whoever it is will leave when he or she gets tired of knocking.” She said,

“Let me check, It might be something important.”

But Amelia refused, shaking her head. “There’s no point in that. I’ve had enough for today and I don’t want any more drama.

I realized my hand from her grasp, “Why are you so bent on not letting me see who is there?”

“I think it’s your mother.” She said,

I smiled. “You think? Are you now scared of my mother?”

“Who won’t be? She looks at me in a scary way.” She muttered.

I knew she was right but I tried to convince her she wasn’t always like that.

I walked to the door, hesitated for a while before I swung it open, to my surprise it was Cindy. She pushed me from the way and rushed in. She was holding some luggages, I had no idea who it was meant for. I only hoped it wasn’t what i was thinking.

“What brings you here?” I asked.

“I’m here to stay.”

“What?” Amelia spat. “No way.”

“I don’t understand, you say you’re here to stay. And who told you that you do have a place in this house? Or you’re now homeless? Which of them?” I asked,

I knew I had to take this slowly but Amekia wasn't ready for that, She just wanted to throw her out.

“What are you waiting for, let’s throw this bitch out of here.” She said to me, boiling with anger.

“Calm down. And as for you Cindy, you will have to leave. How did you find my address?”

“Well, If you really want to know, your mom gave it to me.”

“I knew it, that woman hates me so much and she can do anything just to destroy our relationship but she failed because it's never gonna happen.”
