Chapter 55 “I Will Make Him Mine!”
Chapter Fifty-Six
As soon as Clara stepped out of the room with Aria, she looked towards the far corner of the hallway to the right, where a shadow lurked.
Tori peeked around the corner and smiled coyly when she saw Clara leading Aria away from the room in the opposite direction.
Clara turned to wink at her, just before she descended the stairs with Aria.
When the coast was clear, Tori walked out from her hidden position and approached the room with purposeful strides.
She had a glass of orange juice in her hands, and her eyes and face gleamed with a hopeful light.
She knocked tentatively on the door to Lucian’s room, and pushed it open without waiting for an answer from inside.
“Mr Graves, it’s me, Tori,” she uttered as she walked in, then paused at the door.
Lucian had taken off his huge winter coat and was now only wearing a loose undershirt that hugged his biceps and showed off his sculptured chest.
Tori felt a tingle run through her skin as she beheld this glorious figure before her. She was so glad that she had come to the Beaumont mansion at this time.
If she hadn’t, Aunt Clara would not have given her such an important task. Something that she had always wanted for a long time.
“Listen to me, Tori,” Aunt Clara had said earlier that day, “You know how beautiful you are and how many men are going for your hand in marriage. But you and I know you deserve the best of the best. Something like the eldest son of the Graves Empire!”
“The Graves Empire? Are you talking about Lucian Graves?” Tori had immediately uttered. She had long been infatuated with Lucian Graves and had envisioned them being together for a long time.
She had tried so hard to be close to him, even attending his Alma mater, going to every events that he was in, even trying to get a position in Graves Empire Headquarters but if it wasn’t close to Lucian, she rejected it.
But now, even her aunt could see that she was the perfect match for him. And Aunt Clara was a very shrewd woman who never minced her words.
She must have had something in mind when saying this.
However, her excitement died down quickly, “But I heard he’s married now. To the eldest daughter of the Beaumont family, Aria Beaumont.” she uttered, her voice lowered.
“Can you hear yourself?” Clara interrupted, laughing in a high mocking voice, “Aria is just a country bumpkin. Do you actually think that marriage is going to last? Do you think that country bumpkin deserves someone as great as Lucian Graves?”
Tori’s brows furrowed in deep thought, and came to the conclusion that, indeed, that country bumpkin did not deserve her great Lucian Graves.
Lucian should only be with someone like her, with great academic prowess and also upcoming in business and in her career.
She looked at Clara and nodded in agreement, “You’re very right, Aunt Clara. Aria Beaumont does not deserve Lucian Graves.”
“That’s the spirit, my dear.” Clara had cooed, patting Tori’s head, “Once you get married into the Graves family, you will immediately have the favour of the Graves family. Then they will naturally throw Aria Beaumont out, since she’s such a disgrace.”
Tori smiled cruelly at those words.
Of course, the Graves family would prefer someone as exquisite as her, instead of that dowdy country bumpkin.
She was everything Aria Beaumont would only dream to be.
However, a thought struck her and she turned to Clara once more.
“Aunt Clara, this is so nice, actually. But I do not understand why you’re giving me this opportunity,” she uttered with a sultry smile, “Why can’t Selena have this opportunity?”
Clara paused, exchanging glances with Selena who had been sitting quietly by them, watching them.
Of course, she could not let Selena try again. The Graves family already rejected her, and it would take a long time for them to try to warm up to her.
Besides, Selena was not as exquisite in academics and career the way Tori was.
Clara’s goal was to make the Graves family abandon Aria, and turn Lucian’s heart away from Aria as well.
Selena would not be able to do that, to Clara’s ire, but a new and fresh face like Tori would do the trick.
So she waved the question off, “Don’t worry about this silly girl,” Clara said, laughing, “Selena does not want to get married now. Besides, she says she does not want to have her sister’s husband. She wants to remain respectful.”
Tori almost snorted her drink when she heard that.
Selena was willing to give up Lucian Graves because she wanted to be respectful?!
That was hard to believe, especially since Tori knew how vicious Selena could be. There was absolutely no way Selena would reject being the wife of someone as great as Lucian Graves.
There was only one way that would have happened; if Lucian Graves had already rejected her.
This thought pleased Tori but she did not let on. Instead, she just continued sipping her drink quietly.
“Do not worry, Aunt Clara.” She said after a while, “I will go in Selena’s stead. I will make Lucian Graves mine.”
That was what she had promised her Aunt Clara a few days ago and they had cooked up a plan together.
And now, her she was in Lucian’s room, ready to carry out that plan, and she was almost crippled by excitement at the status she was about to come into.
“If everything works out well tonight, I will be able to become everything I’ve ever wanted to be,” she thought, with a sly smile, “Lucian Graves, you won’t even know what hit you.”
She walked towards the black stone table in the room, her hips swaying seductively in her short gown. She stooped low, her skirt riding up to reveal her milky white thighs as she placed the orange juice on the table.
She tucked her dark hair behind her ears and smiled sultrily at Lucian, batting her eyelashes at him.
She was gorgeous, and looked like a dainty flower.
There was no way he would not be attracted to her.
However, Lucian was watching with a blank expression, his brows drawn slightly with irritation.
“What the fuck do you want?”
