Chapter 6 Chapter Six
Kamari’s Pov
She lowered her gaze, untying the last knot. “There were others—pretty girls, wild ones. He kept them for days, weeks even. But none of them had eyes like yours. None of them ever challenged him, none of them talked back at him. You’re different.”
She picked up a sponge and dipped it in the hot water. “You’ll see.” Then she turned slightly. “Take the lingerie off your shoulders.”
My chest tightened. I wasn’t the first? What happened to the others? Why was I different? Did he buy them too?
“Tell me…” I stepped closer to her. “What happened to them?” Maris’s eyes shifted, like she knew but couldn’t say. Instead, she held my arm and slid the tiny straps off my shoulders. Did he kill every one of their husbands just like he killed Davin?
“Come, let me bathe you…” “No, I can—”I froze as the bathroom door swung open. He walked in. His jacket was gone, his white shirt rolled to his elbows, tattoos inked all over his forearms.
“Leave us,” he commanded. Maris bowed and left immediately, closing the door behind her.
The moment the lock clicked, his gaze dropped—to my breasts. My hand immediately flew over, covering it from him seeing. He walked toward me, silent and steady, the veins and tattoos along his arms standing out even more as he approached. How could I notice how breathtaking he is?
He then pulled what I couldn’t mistake to be a gun out from his pocket. He placed it gently by the side of the bathtub, his eyes darkened as he smirked. I began trembling as I stared at him afraid of what he might do next.
“I know you are shy right now, but I guess you remember when I told you I have watched you bath for over three years now? I have seen every inch of your body Kamari. Now quit the act and get into that tub while I ask politely."
I felt my legs move on their own accord, slowly I entered the bathtub but my eyes were fixed elsewhere…. The gun…the same gun he used earlier in killing my husband.“ I can see you are really afraid of this object, aren't you?" He smirked as he gently tapped the gun before slipping into the water too.
" What are you doing?" I asked as I felt his manhood rub my ass gently under the water. “ And what does it look like am doing? I am going to be scrubbing your body… because you stink.” He rasps stretching his hand forward to grab the sponge and the bath soap.
" I can do that myself. There is no need for you to help me out, Mr Luciano. You can just wait outside, I will be out in just five minutes.” I pleaded with him as I felt his manhood rubbing me gently continuously.
“I should wait outside," he hummed as he rubbed the soap gently on the sponge, “So you will think of ways to harbour your escape plans, won't you?" Was he afraid that I might run away? Where exactly would I run to? How would I run from a dangerous man like him without getting cut in the next five minutes?
" No…. I won’t run away. I promise, you can trust me on that." I whispered my voice hoarse but somehow I knew that he could hear me. “Trust you?” He chuckled, " What has trust gotten you Kamari? A husband who could trade your body off for his debt? Or a parent who could abandon you in an orphanage home only to get you when they needed a settlement.”
My mouth flew open as I turned sharply towards him. How did he know all of this? How did he know so much about him? It wasn’t something I kept in my CV when I wanted a job from his company nor was it something I wanted another person to know about. “ Ho…w di…d you…kno…w… that?” I stammered, staring at him surprisely.
He smiled and replied," I run that orphanage and this entire city belongs to me. What do you possibly think? That if I bear the name Luciano De Rossi out in public I won’t be haunted down by the people I trust just like you?”
I fell silent, different thoughts filled my mind. Was that the reason I couldn’t recognize him at the auction house? He looked different… certainly not like the Mr Frederick Hayden I know… but an entirely different person. So he does all the dirty work under the name Luciano De Rossi and all the good guy shit under Mr Frederick Hayden.
“I had my boys dig up into your background and it was clear. You kept a good record for yourself. But your involvement with me is a one of the bad things that have happened to you and I don’t need a soothsayer to tell me that." He casually muttered, scrubbing my skin gently with the bathing sponge in his hand.
I felt a sharp pain cross my stomach and I whimped in pain. I held my lower abdomen as the pain became severe every passing minute. “What is the problem, Princess?” Luciano asked, his eyes filled with concern as I clutched my stomach tightly.
"I think I just got my period.” I muttered weakly, as I watched his expression turn sour. What was he possibly thinking? That he would feed his manhood tonight… Never!.
“ Fuck." I glanced down at the water in the bathtub only to find it stained with my period blood. How did I possibly forget that it was today? “ Stand up and wrap yourself with a towel. I will ask Maris to come take care of everything. Just wait here for her." He got up from the tub, grabbed a white towel nearby and handed it over to me.
By the time I was done wrapping the towel securely around my body, I couldn’t find him in the bathroom. He must have sprinted out of the bathroom when I wasn’t looking, Was he sacred of period bloods?
The door opened openly shortly after, it wasn’t Maris that entered, it was an entirely different girl that looked like she was in her early twenties– her blonde long hair packed in a ponytail style and her round doe eyes staring down at me. She bowed her head,“I am Celine and boss Luciano asked me to take care of you.” She uttered. But I could sense the rudeness in her tone. Why was she rude?
"I want to see Madam Maris and not you. Please tell Luciano that.” I glanced at her and the door, checking if I would see the kind elderly woman. " Am so sorry Mrs plaything but
I can’t defy Don Luciano’s rules.”
"Excuse me?”
