Chapter 25

Camilla POV

"I will prepare a party for your child baptism, it will just not be a simple party but a big one." Dad announced. 

My eyes widened, I couldn't believe what my ear heard.

A party?

I look at Ransom, Dad and Mom. they did not mind me and it seems like it was just normal for them.

" Camilla? are you okay? " Mom glanced at me while slicing the piece of steak in her plate. I nodded. "It's nothing Mom." I replied to her.

"Ohh, I forgot that it will happen in one of my wife's family biggest resort. next sunday."Dad fake a cough. 

While I was sitting in front of them in this  dining table. I was tightly clinging to the skirt I was wearing and my surprise was replaced by amazement at my husband's family. 

That I realize how important my child is to them, so they will take a time to celebrate my child upcoming baptism.

"Of course, I want to introduce my first grand daughter to everyone and I am proud of it!" Dad stated and he looked at me, I saw a glimpse of smile in his lips.

I exhaled and cling to my skirt tightly. I smiled slightly and couldn't hide the happiness I'm feeling. I bet they notice that I was please about Ransom father announcement. But I can't help it. 

I stopped when I notice Ransom was quietly eating and while listening to his father.

I couldn't figure out if his angry about what his father talking about because of his poker face.

I took a deep breath and ignored it, I listen to Dad and mom excitedly talking about how will the party will happen in just days from now on. 

Days later we were busy preparing for baby Yumi's upcoming baptism. I am in my husband room and I can hear the maids voice panicking while doing orders from Ransom mother to prepare.

I couldn't still believe it and if feels like I was dreaming.

When I felt my stomach grumble and throat dries, I decided to leave the room in go down stairs to get something to eat. While I was in the stair, my feet accidentally stopped when I saw my father in law talking to someone.

His eyes were serious, is it only because he was busy? 

I noticed the little logo in the man's coat and based on how he is well dressed. Maybe an organizer?  What are they talking about? 

I continue walking down the stair. I can't gossip. 

I forced myself to go to the kitchen.

"Sir, the total is 12.5 billion." 

"The money is not a problem, I already paid for i---" Dad replied.

my feet automatically stopped and I felt like my ears ring.

What?! 12.5 billion?! why it is so expensive? That's a big money.

"Camilla what are you doing? I didn't know you were there" A loud voice called my name. It was Ransom dad.

A lightning strike me. Camilla... stupid.

I slowly tilted my head and saw my father in law looking at me, it's the same as the organizer.  "Yes Dad? actually uhmm, I'm on my way to the kitchen. I'm on my way to get something to eat." I answered to him.

I straightened my back and my skin crawl feeling the powerful presence in front of me.  Ransom had the same eyes of his dad in both of their presence. 

I gulped." Ohh why didn't you tell me? we have a lot of maid to get some for you." he replied. 

I shake my head. "I didn't want to bother anyone." 

 I gather every courage I have and took a step. 

I smiled to Ransom father. "Thank you for everything Dad."  I said with a soft voice. 

There's a moment of silence between us and he nodded for a simple response.

I'm wearing a red elegant dress. I looked around and saw a lot of rich people. The party is big and the resort. 

I saw Ransom holding baby Yumi with his father and mother talking to their friends. Suddenly Ransom eyes meet mine, he gave me the look.

He is calling me.

I walked in their direction and stop at Ransom side. I turned shy when I felt his big hands in my waist and pulled me closer to him while holding our child.

"Done entertaining the guest?" he whispered in my ear. I felt his breath.

I nodded. "Yes, I'm done..."  I replied in weak voice.

Ransom chuckle and let go of my waist. I looked at him and I was mesmerized to saw him smiling. He's so handsome.

"Ohh Ransom is happy! what happened?"

"You're a lucky guy to have a cute child, I'm jealous."

"Indeed I am." Ransom stated. 

He slightly lean down. "Stay with me for a moment..." he said in a low voice...

It took a long time for many people to greet Ransom and even his parents.

 I didn't realize the time, I stayed standing next to Ransom and also talking to those who congratulated me for the baptism of my child. 

Entertaining the guests and being more that rich people, I can't keep up.

But somehow I stayed and couldn't get rid of what happened before while I was with Ransom. 

 Ransom's smile and his soft laugh in front of the guests. All of that. I secretly smiled and was happy with what was happening. 

After an hours I took some water to ease my throat dryness while talking to the guests, but I also took some wine from one of the waiters who served and stayed near the buffet. While drinking wine, the light suddenly went out and I heard some of the guests gasp. 

but the others were calm, as if they knew what was going to happen. Suddenly the light came on but it was only in front of the people. I looked at it and was surprised to see Ransom go ahead while carrying baby Yumi with her parents.

Ransom fixed the neck tie of his suit and gave baby Yumi to my father in law. One of the stuff gave Ransom a mic.

"Good evening to all of you, thank you for accepting our invitation to come to this party." Ransom loudly said in front of the crowd.

"It is nothing Ransom." I heard a woman replied to him and giggled. 

I walked closely to saw them better, while my hand holding the wine. 

"I am Mr.Ransom Crosby, appreciating everyone efforts in here and I will not make this speech longer anymore." he stepped up and hold the mic tightly. 

He's head held high as if he is the king in front of his people. 

Ransom looked at his father and looked at baby Yumi.

"Welcome to my family, my only child, baby Yumi!" Ransom announced that left me stunned while standing and couldn't believe what is happening.
