Chapter 27

Chapter 27
|| LUCIUS's POV ||

" I told you son..You should have never trusted that bastard. He is a snake."
Godmother rumbled as soon as the news of Lusia's abduction broke out everywhere. My heart ached for my poor girl who was dragged into our mess without any reason.

I growled firmly, remembering all the offers that I made to Zion already,
" SHE WILL COME BACK, godmother. I won't let anything happen to her. SHE IS MY SISTER."

Grabbing the wine, I drank it all in one shot, the hot liquor failing to control my rage. My godmother was sitting on the other end of the room. She got up on her feet and walked up to me slowly, placing her hand over my tensed body,
" I am worried for you , Son. You should focus on building a strong legacy as well. Everyone is looking at your leadership. You shouldn't give any chance to Zion."

The thought of legacy made me remember my accidental mate. Even though it was unintentional,I couldn't imagine anyone else but Monica carrying my son in her womb. But how could I tell them that my mate was a slave? If any custom was strongly forbidden, mating with a slave was one of the strongest and strict ones.

Godmother continued, tapping on my shoulders,
" Let Agatha serve you tonight. She holds the rightful place next to you. Let her come tonight, Son."

Guilt smashed over me when I recalled an innocent face, the sweat of her body when I fucked her on the full moon day. I couldn't bring myself to say yes but Godmother continued urging, tearing her eyes up,
" I don't want to die without seeing my grandchildren, son. Everyone knows your relationship with her. It's not a sin for her to come. That poor girl adores you too much."

I swallowed the uneasiness into my stomach. Each time I tried to forget Monica, it became impossible. Perhaps Agatha would be able to make me forget about her. I blurted out reluctantly, pushing aside the guilty feeling in my heart,
" Let...her come..."

Godmother grinned up big before muttering happily,
" I knew it. You will never turn me down."

Godmother left the room happily. As soon as she left, my beta entered, wearing a grim expression. He showed me the reply that was sent by Zion.His cheeky reply made me furious that said,
" Lusia is my guest as well. Let me treat her for a few more days, dear brother."

I clenched my teeth so hard that it almost broke from the force. I cursed out aloud, slamming the paper down,
" BASTARD!"

It meant that Monica wasn't ready to let go of Lusia. He wanted to keep Lusia there either to piss me off more or I didn't offer the thing that he wanted. At this moment, I could only wait to hear from him.
_______
|| MONICA'S POV ||

As I walked past the servants' quarters, the murmur of gossip caught my attention like a whispering wind through the halls. The maids were gathered, their voices hushed but carrying an air of excitement that made my heart sink. I paused, pretending to straighten a nearby tapestry as I strained to catch their words.

"Did you hear?" one of them whispered eagerly to her companion. "Agatha is going to serve Lucius on his bed tonight."

My breath caught in my throat at the mention of Agatha's name intertwined with Lucius's. A pang of jealousy shot through me, though I tried to push it aside, telling myself it was irrational. But the conversation continued, the maids' imaginations running wild with visions of beautiful offspring born from such a union.

A lump formed in my throat as I turned away, the weight of their words settling heavily upon my shoulders. How could they speak so casually of Agatha serving Lucius in such an intimate manner? Did they not see the pain it caused? Or perhaps they simply didn't care.

Without a word, I hurried to my chambers, the tears stinging at the corners of my eyes threatening to spill over. The ache in my chest grew with each step, a gnawing emptiness that I couldn't shake. I needed to be alone, away from the prying eyes and whispered rumors that haunted the castle corridors.

Once inside my room, I collapsed onto the edge of my bed, the tears flowing freely now as I buried my face in my hands. The pain radiated through my body, a physical manifestation of the ache in my heart. And in that moment, all I could think about was Lucius and Agatha, together in his chambers, sharing a closeness that I could only dream of.

A sharp pain shot through me suddenly, causing me to gasp in surprise. It felt as though every inch of my skin was on fire, the sensation so intense that I could barely think. And then, in the midst of my agony, a thought crept into my mind, unbidden and unwelcome.

Lucius was touching Agatha.

The realization hit me like a blow to the chest, knocking the breath from my lungs. Was this the reason for my pain? Was I somehow feeling the touch of Lucius's hands upon Agatha's skin, even from miles away?

I doubled over in agony, the tears streaming down my face as I struggled to make sense of what was happening to me. How could I feel something so intimate, so personal, between two people who were not even aware of my existence?

In a desperate bid to escape the torment, I stumbled to my feet and staggered into the bathroom, locking the door behind me. Alone in the dim light, I sank to the floor, the sobs wracking my body as I curled into a ball, wishing for the pain to end.

But even as I cried, a small voice whispered in the back of my mind, reminding me of the truth I had been avoiding for so long. Lucius would never be mine, not in the way I longed for him to be. And as much as it hurt to admit it, I knew that I had to find a way to let him go, to free myself from the chains of unrequited love that bound me to him.

But for now, all I could do was cry, the tears washing away the pain even as it threatened to consume me whole. And in the darkness of that lonely room, I prayed for the strength to survive another day, another night, without the one I loved.
