Chapter 77

Chapter 77

Alec

I was ecstatic that I got to spend the time with Savenia. Though the idea that she would soon be leaving me for the mission that she had been tasked with had me all sorts of pissed off. From the story that Lucy had told the group, had me wishing that I could say no. Yet, I knew that voicing that thought would push Savenia away from me. Savenia was a hard woman to love. She was all tough and warrior-like. Yet had no actual training. That I would ensure it got rectified soon. I may be rusty myself but knew that my sister and brothers would have my back in ensuring that she had the proper training before this upcoming mission.

‘Lil sis?’ I linked Gabi.

‘What is up Alec? If you are linking me to ask that I retract Savenia from this mission I will tell her you begged me not to.’ She linked back. My sister had always had a certain sass to her. A sass that was backed up with her confident combative skills.

‘Wasn’t asking, that would be a wasted breath. That and I am almost positive that she would ultimately kill me. Like not even in my sleep. In front of everyone. While laughing. I was linking to ask that you would give private lessons to both Savenia and Lucy, before the mission. I think they could both benefit from one on one attention from you. If they are going to have to hide their powers they are going to need something to protect themselves.’ I told her.

‘I think that you have a good point there, big brother. Bring it up at the meeting and we can put it on the books. See you back in the conference room in a few?’ She replied.

‘Yep we are heading there now.’ I linked back before cutting the link.

Once we were all seated I watched Gabi look around the room.

“Where is Marcus?” She asked the room.

I watched as my father got a puzzled look on his face, and looked between me and the rest of my brothers. As he made his way to each of us we all just shrugged.

“Has nobody seen him since this morning's meeting?” My father asked directing the question to my brothers and I.

“Nope. I Saw him heading back to his room but that's the last I saw of him pops.” Antony replied. Antony the only not totally engrossed by the mate bond would be the only one that would be fully cognizant over someones comings and goings. That and he spent every last one of his minutes locked away in his room of monitors.

“I will go get him and Mari. If you would like to start the meeting Gabi we shall return momentarily.” He replied before walking to the room.

“No, we will wait for you to come back.” She replied for taking a seat. The room began low murmurs as everyone began to talk amongst themselves.

Gabriel.

I was growing increasingly frustrated. If it wasn’t one of my sons it was another. Antony was always frustrated lately with the fact that he was watching all of his siblings pair off. He had even observed my latest fascination with Amethyst, and called me out on it. When I had confronted him about his latest outburst at Alec and Savenia and Celeste and Adrik finding one another he broke down. I had known that he wanted his mate. He could tell that there was something wrong but couldn’t exactly tell what that was. All he knew was that she needed him as much as he needed her. I could understand his outburst and his frustrations.

Yet, when I had heard Marcus voice out that he would not stand up and support his sister I had wanted to rattle the boy. He may be an adult now but the fact that he sat there and claimed that he would not stand with his family because of his mate and children, I grew more disappointed in him.

Leaving the room, I quickly made my room to Marcus’s room to gather him and Mari. They were going to sit there or get out. I would not have them thinking that they were above the family. Or some low level member of this compound. They were blood to the queen and he would finally take his role beside his sister or he would be labeled what we always were. A rogue.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

“Open up Marcus!” I yelled on the other side of the door.

Seconds later the young petite thing that I had grown to know as Mari opened the door.

“Gabriel? What is wrong?” She asked, as I stormed past her to look around the room for Marcus.

“Where is Marcus? Where is my son?” I boomed finally letting my anger take control. I watched as Mari began to shake as she pointed to the back of the condo that she shared with Marcus.

Leaving her standing by the open door not concerned that she looked ready to cry I made my way to Marcus’s room.

“I understand that Alpha… What did you expect of me?.. I was coming here to protect my sister. That was all I knew. I didn’t know that she was the damn queen or that she would acknowledge she was… I understand that, but I have a duty to my family… Alpha please, you cannot expect me to go against my family. Not only that but it would be a death sentence… Well then I guess we will just have to see where the dice fall.”

I didn’t understand what I had been hearing. Was my son some sort of spy or was he defending his family?

“Marcccccusssssss….” I growled out.

‘Alec, Antony, Cain, Abel, and Levi get to Marcus’s room immediately. Gabi you and Samuel stay put, we are bringing Marcus and Mari before the council.’ I said over a group link. Within seconds the heavy footsteps of my boys filled the small living area of Marcus’s condo before they all filed in awaiting for me to get my hands on Marcus.

Marcus walked out of the room confused but looking at me, recognition filled his eyes.

“How much did you hear?” He asked.

“How much is there more you need to say? But it won't be here. You are going to tell everyone. You are going to stand before your sister and explain why you were throwing her under the bus.” I said, grabbing him by the back of the neck as I dragged his large ass out of his bedroom.

“Alec, escort Mari to the conference room. She too can stand judgment.” I said.

“DON’T YOU FUCKING TOUCH HER.” Marcus growled at his brother. Only to have Alec rearing back and punishing him in the nose.

“Fuck you Marcus. For years we have all looked up to you for guidance, as the role model. And you sit there thinking that I would do anything to your mate. Do anything to hurt mine? Fuck you brother. Mari, let's go.” He said opening his hand to allow her to exit the room first.

Following them Antony and Cain took hold of both arms and began to drag him towards the conference room. Levi, Abel and I took up the rear ready to chase after my traitorous son. I loved all my kids equally but would not ever tolerate my children going against his family.

Upon entering the conference room I seen all eyes go to the commotion that I had brought into the room.

“You need to start talking son” I sneered once we had all filed in. Antony and Cain remained by Marcus’s side as I stood beside Antony. Levi and Alec guided Mari to sit in the chair that had once been designated to Mari and Marcus. While Abel took up position by the door.

“Tell them Marcus. They need to know.” Mari cried out.

“Mari, you know what will happen if we do?” Marcus said more as a statement than a question. Yet Mari just teared up and put her head in her lap and cried.

“Okay. Fine, where do you want me to begin?” Marcus said defeatedly.

“How about you start with who the hell you were talking to and what you were talking about?” I growled out.

“How about I start with how many of you have seen my little brats running around here? You call yourself a dutiful father and grandfather yet you didn’t even notice that Mari and I have been here for over a week and not one person has commented on where my children were?” And the room went silent as we all looked around to see that no one had known.
