Chapter 69 Untitled Chapter
“I am sorry to say, but are you nuts!” she snapped, tossing the menu on the table. She drew the attention of the dudes sitting by, and before they could realize what we were talking about, I grabbed her wrist and pulled her out of the shop.
“Take me to Mr. Wood’s place right now. I must utilize this opportunity to achieve my aim!”
Matilda doesn't understand that this is the only chance I can get to get into Casper’s house and the easiest way. Going through the security, she knows, will not give me the full opportunity to wander around that house.
“I need to do this and leave. Do you want to remain in this goddamn place in disguise? You'd better take me to Mr. Wood right now, or don't, and get your punishment from me. Not only that, but I will also make sure they find out that you are a spy sent from another pack.”
Matilda gasped, her jaw dropping. She doesn't know I can do that, right? Of course I can. Nothing scares me, and as soon as I reveal her secret, I will be off.
“The choice is yours. Get your legs moving to Mr. Wood’s place, or return to the ice cream shop.”
I folded my arms, waiting for her to make a choice. After some thorough thinking, she sighed, shaking her head.
“I will take you to him.”
Great!
“Then lead the way.”
She walked to the street, waved down a taxi, and signaled to me to get in. She even held the door for me; what a nice girl.
“When we get there, please, Amelia, do not say anything that will provoke Mr. Wood, because if you do, we might not get what we are seeking.”
Let’s hope he doesn't pick a fight with me because if he does, I won't keep quiet. Also, he said he will deal with me when we cross paths again, so there is no way Matilda will expect me to keep quiet when he is lashing out insults.
After a few minutes of driving through many shops and companies, we arrived at another company. I thought she was taking me to his house.
This town isn't bad at all; it has all the modern stuff, buildings, and everything. Because it was beneath a mountain, I thought it would be like those villages during the Stone Age.
“Here we go, Amelia. Remember what I said earlier.”
I bobbed my head, pretending what she said got into my head. So, we went inside the medium-sized building company, and the inside was just like a normal place, not even as fancy as the study room back at the Lunskye Packhouse.
“We are here to see Mr. Wood,” she said to the receptionist, a petite girl who had that devilish smile, emitted a strong smoky scent, and had a large mark on the left side of her neck.
She looked us over from head to toe, smirked, and grumpily picked up the telephone.
“Some girls are here to see you, Mr. Wood,” she kept smirking at us as she spoke on the telephone, and that really annoyed me.
How dare she look down on us that way? Especially me. Gosh! I hate this place and everyone in it, and I can't wait to wipe them out.
“What are your names?” she asked Matilda, and this time, she wasn't smirking; she had a slight smile on her face.
So it means she was smirking at me earlier on, correct? I don't get it. Why are they all looking down on me when I haven't even met them before now?
Do they know who I am? Or what is my aim in that town?
“She is Mr. Wood’s girlfriend, and she always acts that way towards pretty girls.”
Oh, that explains it. She thinks I am going to snatch her boyfriend from her? Hahahaha. No way! That man is an old man; there is nothing I can do with him.
“No wonder she was smiling at you,” I said, grinning in mischief. Matilda paused on the stairs and turned towards me with a confused look.
“Are you implying I am ugly?” She gasped, her hand placed on her chest.
“Yes. You are just pretty in your own way.” Hahahaha, I love the sad look on her face right now. She looks like she is going to burst into tears for being called an ugly girl.
Anyway, that was only a joke. Matilda is pretty; she is the prettiest girl I have ever seen in this town. I would have made her my mate if I were a man because she has that aura of a leader, and she will make a perfect Luna.
She knocked on the door gently, and when Mr. Wood’s horrible voice ushered us in, we went in.
The moment his gaze fell on mine, his brows creased into a frown, and so did I. I already promised to return whatever he does to me. And even if I decide to ignore myself, I swear, my Alpha blood won't let me.
We take shit from nobody because they are always below us.
“Why did you bring her here, Matilda? I thought it was only you who had come to see me. You know what? Just take her out and come back here.” He pointed at the door and glared at me with a smirk, and I rolled my eyes at him.
“Please, Mr. Wood, do not send her away., I brought her here because there is something she needs to ask you. She needs your help.”
What is she trying to do? She cannot tell him we need his help. What if he starts suspecting we are up to something, which is why we want to go into Casper’s house?
“Help?” He scoffed, scanned me from head to toe, and cracked up. That was so annoying, and it made my power stir in my stomach.
“This rude girl cannot come here to seek my help; she is an egotistical little whore.”
What an insult!
“I am not a whore, and I am not egotistical, Mr. Wood. Watch your tongue!” I snapped, stepping closer to his desk.
“See? Can you see that, Matilda? She can never keep quiet when elders are talking.”
I am an elder too, fool! An Alpha, to be precise. I would have yanked out his head right now, but I can't because of the stupid disguise.
“Sorry about that, Mr. Wood, but you must help her.”
“I will only do that for your sake, Matilda. Now tell me what you want me to do.”
Whatever!
“You are taking names of maidens to be taken to the leader’s house tomorrow, right?” He nodded his head.
