Chapter 36 Untitled Chapter

Chapter 36 Untitled Chapter
HANS MORGAN

Earlier on, the heat inside the packhouse was so intense that I couldn't take it any longer and decided to go to the pool to cool off my burning skin. Staying inside for long would have melted my brain and made me lose my mind for real.

As soon as I had taken off my clothes and was left with only the boxer, rose scents filled the air, followed by delicate footsteps on the polished tiles. Since there was no way I wouldn't be seen by Amelia, naked, I jumped inside the pool, holding my breath, and sank to the bottom, waiting for her to leave.

However, she didn't leave, and all the things she was saying were clear in my ears. I couldn't control the sudden urge that flushed down my body, and when she dived inside the pool, I drew her closer to myself and claimed her lips.

We both lost our breath at that moment, and I pulled her out of the pool with me. As Amelia gasped for breath, her eyes were fixed on mine. Then she giggled, tucked her wet hair behind her ear, and swam closer to me.

I thought she was going to scold me as usual, but surprisingly, she didn't. She wrapped her arms around my neck, pulled closer to me, and enclosed me in a passionate kiss.

Our tongues fought, and hands touched where they weren't supposed to touch on a normal day. When I held her waist, she looked at me deep in the eyes, nibbling on her lower lip seductively.

“Do you like it?” she asked, staring at my lips in lust.

Is that even necessary? Even she knows how much I have yearned to have her lips on mine. So, instead of answering her question, I pulled her closer and locked my lips with hers.

Unfortunately, we were interrupted the moment she was trying to slide her hands inside my boxers.

My heart raced in rage, and I would have pounced on him and torn him apart until all his limbs were detached from his body if not for Amelia, who was present.

“What?” I snapped furiously, glaring at Axel, whose eyes were only on Amelia and not me.

“I am so sorry to interrupt, Alphas, but there is something urgent I need to report.”

What was that that won't wait till we are done here? That was the moment I had been praying for my whole life—to have Amelia closer to me, kissing and making love.

I was close to getting my dreams to come into reality, and this? Axel has bought himself trouble, and I swear, he will regret ever doing this.

“What is that, Axel? Can't you see that my mate and I are quite busy here?” She frowned at him, pulling away.

“Please, pardon me, Alpha Amelia, but I can't wait. The troops that were sent to the Valtorium Pack have returned.”

What! Just that? Just because the troops are back, he decided to ruin my moment? Fuck!

“So? Have them transfer the captives here; I will be with them shortly.” She waved uninterestedly, turning towards me.

My face brightened up when I saw her coming back to me. But the moment she wrapped her arms around my neck again, Axel dropped it.

“They didn't return with the Pack members, Alpha,” he sighed, wiping the pool of sweat on his face and neck.

“Why?” Amelia’s question overtook mine.

“Because the Pack is empty, all the members have fled.”

AMELIA BROOK

My heart stilled, and all went mute. All I could hear was my heart, which was pounding against my chest, and Amy, who was cursing in my mind.

They've fled? To where? When? And how?

They no longer have a pack leader who could have commanded them to leave the pack. Also, there is no way they would have left by themselves; that has never happened in the history of the werewolf kingdom.

“But rest assured, Alpha Amelia, we are digging on it, and in no time, their location will be detected.” Axel sounded confident about it, but that was never going to be possible.

They wouldn't have gone to where they would be found easily; they are not dumb. But how they easily migrated from that pack baffled me. There are a lot of them, and I am sure they wouldn't have stayed in any pack.

The remaining packs know the feud between us, and they wouldn't want to be involved in any war with us by helping those rogues.

I held the railing, stepped out of the pool, and reached for the scarf on the lounge.

“Where is the general?” I asked him, tying my wet, dripping hair into a bun.

“Send him to the Packhouse right away.”

I picked up my bag, signaled to Hans to come out of the pool, and we returned inside the house.

“This is serious.” Hans gasped, passing me the hand dryer.

It is indeed serious. How can something like this happen unexpectedly?

“We need to find out their location as fast as we can.”

And that is what we are going to do. Who knows, they might gather the rest of the rogues from other packs and attack us again. I mean…they succeeded in carrying out the first attack with the help of a spy who lives in my pack. Doing it for the second time won't be a problem, I guess.

“What is the news I just received, General Lykon? Is it true that the Valtorium Pack members have fled from that pack?”

He lifted his head, looking so confused. His expression made me wonder if he had heard my question or not. And if he doesn't, he should say it, so I wouldn't repeat myself and not waste time here with him.

“Didn't you hear what I said?” I asked again, louder this time, so he would hear clearly. But instead of answering my question, he looked at his phone, then looked at me again.

“I don't know what you are talking about, Alpha.”

Is he kidding me? He doesn't know about that? Then where did Axel get that information from? Doesn't he know that the troops are back?

“The troops are back, General Lykon. They haven't reported to you yet?” Hans asked him, his voice like someone suspecting something.

“They aren't back yet, Alphas, and I haven't gotten any information from them. I gave them the order to give me a call when they arrive at the Pack…” His phone rang, interrupting him. “That's them, Alpha Amelia.”

He answered the call, clicked on the speaker, and extended his hand towards me.

“General Lykon, we've just arrived at the Valtorium Pack, but it is empty.”
