Chapter 21 So Much for a Beta

Chapter 21 So Much for a Beta
As soon as Axel was dragged out of the office, Hans started pleading for him.

“He is fragile,”

He said in concern, but that's not an excuse. Honestly, I am tired of seeing him that way. He is a man; he should work on himself and stop behaving like a lady. Even ladies these days are brave and not weak.

To even say he is now a Beta, my Beta. It disturbs me sometimes that I have a loser as a Beta.

“Do you want to go see something fun?” I asked him, getting up from the swivel chair. Seeing the mischievous grin on his face indicated he misunderstood what I meant.

“We are going to Casper’s Mansion, silly.” I scoffed at him and left the office.

When we arrived at the Caspers’ Mansion, he and his family were outside, and the servants were loading their luggage into the car trunk.

Casper’s family all turned towards the gate as my car drove in, and I could see the disappointment on their faces before I could even get out of the vehicle.

“Alpha Amelia?”

His family, except him, bowed their heads in respect. Casper kept glaring at me as if he could kill me right there if he had the chance.

“Alpha Amelia? Can you please forgive us and allow us to stay in this Pack? This is where I was born and raised. I want my kids to experience the living condition here, and to also…”

“Woman!” Casper shouted at his wife angrily, staggering forward.

“How dare you plead with her?”

“But I have to, Casper, for our kids’ sake. Do not be so stubborn, please, Casper. Alpha Amelia will forgive us if we plead with her.”

Well, that is not possible, I won't forgive Casper.

“Alphas do not take back their words, woman,” Hans said, stepping forward.

“But, Alpha Hans, my husband has served this Pack for years now, and…”

“Your husband did what he wasn't supposed to, so you should leave already.”

Casper grabbed her hand, glared at me, and shoved her inside the car.

“This isn't over, Amelia. You will regret hurting the wrong person.”

Really? A threat? If I chop off Casper’s head right now, no one will blame me, right? They won't call me a wicked Alpha, correct?

Casper has gathered so much audacity in him that he thinks he can talk to me how he wants and go scot-free.

“Amelia, sorry to interrupt, but stop having this stupid thought,” Amy said faintly, her voice above a whisper.

She is still weak from the punishment but has learned her lesson. Now she even says sorry to me? Hahahaha.

“Just let him go, okay? The good thing is, you have already sent him and his family out of this Pack, and as long as you lead, he will not set foot here.”

Yeah, that's correct. The hypocrite has been sent away; now, anyone in the Pack will be scared to provoke me.

As soon as Casper’s jeep, conveying him, his family, and their luggage, drove out, I spun towards the apartment.

“Transfer the servants to the Packhouse, lock down the mansion, and bring the keys to me!”

I ordered, and the butler bowed his head, looking so sad.

But I don't care about any of their sadnesses. If they want to go with Casper, the road is clear, and it isn't night yet.

“What do you say we go around the Pack for supervision?”

Hans suggested, and yes, I liked that idea. Who knows? Perhaps, I might find another scapegoat inside the Pack.

A week after Casper was exiled from the Pack, things were going smoothly, except for the threatening messages we kept getting from the Valtorium Pack.

Rowan even made a video and posted it online, saying he would attack the Lunskye Pack anytime soon.

Those threats scared most of the wolves in the Pack, and the war general requested an emergency meeting with me.

“Rowan is only using his fame in the media to boast of the things he can never do. Trust me, he is as light as paper. Only one blow from me, and he was on the floor, groaning in pain.”

“From us, Amelia, do not take the credit alone,” Amy whispered as if another person would hear her voice.

“I wasn't going to take the credit alone. If you will excuse me, I am in an important meeting.” I mind-linked her, then shut the portal between us to prevent future distractions.

General Lykon lifted from the chair, steadied his massive, masculine shoulders, and swiftly bowed to me.

I saw Hans glaring at the general, biting his lower lip aggressively. Perhaps, he was upset that the General was flaunting his giant biceps before me.

Oh, Hans, if only he knew that no man can move my heart except him. Wait, that came out wrong. Oops!

“Alpha Amelia, even with that, I suggest we wear our armor and prepare for anything. The Valtorium Pack is known to attack Packs unexpectedly, and they have succeeded in wiping out hundreds of Packs since the reign of his ancestors.”

Well, I cannot say no to his suggestion. But he must understand that Rowan and his Pack can never wipe out the Lunskye Pack.

We are formidable and have won many wars in the past years. Even if they try to attack us unannounced, they will never defeat us.

“No problem with that, General Lykon. Gather your subordinates and keep training them.”

He bowed his head, then retook his seat.

“How are the new trainees coping? Are they able to release their wolves yet?”

“Oh, a few of them have, Alpha Amelia, but most are still trying. Also, the full moon is just a week away. The moon Goddess will help the Others, who haven't released their wolves yet.”

I nodded, eyes fixed on Hans, whose lips twitched like he was chewing something bitter. But he wasn't chewing anything; he was only waiting for an opportunity to quarrel with the General on why his shirt was transparent.

And when it seemed like he got an opportunity to raise the question, Axel barged into the meeting hall, panting and sweating as usual.

“What is wrong with you, Axel?”

He shook his head, waving his hand exhaustively.

“Alpha Amelia, I am sorry to interrupt, but there is a huge problem. Rogues are on our borders!”
