Chapter75
Inside the study, Damian sat leaning back in his chair, staring intently at the files on the desk. In front of him, Isabella was pacing back and forth, an annoyed look on her face.
"I told you, this isn't necessary, Damian," Isabella exclaimed, her voice rising.
Yes, this woman strongly disagreed with Damian taking a DNA test. Just now, her husband had said that he would DNA test Alva and himself, just to convince himself of the accusations against Elena.
Damian didn't answer. He just picked up a form from the table—the DNA test consent form.
"I want reassurance, Isabella. I want to know... whether Alva is really my son or not."
Isabella stopped in her tracks, staring at Damian as if he had just insulted her entire ancestry. "You're crazy! What a waste of time! It's obvious that Alva is not your flesh and blood! You didn't forget, did you? Elena, the designer queen, was hit with a case where she often climbed into the beds of businessmen to get financial injections. Certainly, Alva is not your biological son!" Isabella continued to protest.
Damian lifted his chin, his eyes cold. "I don't want to be consumed by assumptions. I just want to prove it. Everything must be clear, black on white."
Isabella folded her arms across her chest, her face reddening. "Even if the result is positive that Alva is your son, do you think Elena will allow you to meet him? She would forbid you from getting close to Alva!"
Damian smiled slightly, sarcastically. "If the result is positive that Alva is my son, then I will sue for custody."
Isabella widened her eyes. "What?! Are you serious, Damian?"
"Serious," Damian replied flatly. He stood up, staring out the window, looking at the glitter of the busy city buildings. "Now is the time for Elena's name to fall. I can hold public opinion. If I ask for custody, the judge will believe me more."
Isabella approached, her smile slowly forming a sly line. "If Alva falls into your hands, Elena will go crazy... She's already fragile now. That would be the final straw."
Damian turned his head, his eyes cold as steel. "That's my goal. I just need an heir."
Isabella smiled wider, as if smelling victory.
"Then I agree," she said, her sweet voice like poison.
Damian sat back down, his fingers tapping lightly on the table. "One more thing, Isabella."
"What?"
"I'm not divorcing you."
Isabella froze for a moment, then her smile widened, almost into a grin. "Are you serious?"
"Serious. We'll still be husband and wife. And you will still be a mother to Alva."
Isabella sat on the edge of the table, raising an eyebrow. "All right, darling."
She smirked. She really wanted to destroy Elena. Until Elena had nothing left.
Isabella nodded with satisfaction. "You're finally sane too."
Damian did not reply.
Isabella stood up and stepped towards Damian, stroking his shoulder gently. "If you want, I'll arrange for a lawyer to submit a DNA test to the court. It will make the process faster."
Damian nodded slowly. "Do it."
Isabella smiled with satisfaction. She grabbed her cell phone from her purse, starting to call her contacts at a reputable law firm.
Inwardly, she cheered.
If Damian got custody of Alva, Elena would lose the child she protected the most.
And when that happened, Elena Queen wouldn't just fall. She might go crazy.
Hahaha
Meanwhile, on the other side of town, in the conference room of Elena's apartment, the mood was much more serious. Nathan, Tamara, and Elena sat around a round table. In front of them, a laptop screen displayed the face of an Asian man in his early thirties, with round glasses and a polite little smile.
"My name is Li Zheng," the man said over the video call. "I specialize in cyber investigation, specifically anonymous account tracking."
Tamara leaned back, looking relieved. "Thank God. We finally found someone who really understands this."
Nathan leaned forward. "So, Li Zheng, were you able to find out who was behind the fake account?"
Li Zheng nodded once. His movements were quick and decisive. "I did. I managed to track down the IP address of the account that spread the video. They used a VPN, but they weren't smart enough. I dismantled their three layers."
Elena held her breath, her eyes staring intently at the screen. "And?"
Li Zheng typed something, then displayed a digital map. There was one red dot lit up.
"The location is south of New York City. I checked the local database. The tenant's name is... Nuno Grant. Age 34, freelancer, has a small history of minor hacking in the past."
Nathan raised an eyebrow. "Nuno Grant... sounds familiar?"
Tamara tapped her chin with her finger. "I've heard of him... but from where?"
Elena stood up from her chair. "It doesn't matter who he is. I'm going there now."
Nathan immediately stood up too, holding Elena's hand. "Hey, wait. El, you can't rush."
"But he spread the video, Nathan! I want to confront him directly!" Elena insisted, her eyes red with anger.
Nathan shook his head firmly. "That's precisely why you need to calm down. We can't just show up and confront people without a plan. What if they have a recording, a trap, or even a lawyer? You'll be even more humiliated."
Tamara replied quickly, "Mr. Nathan is right. We have to be careful."
Elena clenched her fists. Her heart was beating fast, her emotions overflowing. "Oh well. I can't wait to meet that person. Because of him, I have a bad reputation."
Nathan softened his voice. He looked at Elena with understanding. "I understand, El. But this time, we're playing chess, not boxing. If you want to win, you have to be patient."
Li Zheng on the screen added, "I can help you design a way to approach the target. If necessary, I can install remote surveillance. We'll secure the data first, then take action."
Tamara nodded. "We need a solid plan. Let me keep you in control, Queen."
Elena took a deep breath, then sat back down. Her voice was still shaky as she spoke. "Okay... I'll go along with your plan."
Nathan smiled slightly. "Good girl. Be patient, your good name will be back soon."
Elena stared at the screen, looking at Li Zheng who was calmly typing something again.
Inwardly, Elena sw

Nuno Grant... whoever he was...
He would know the taste of having dared to touch her life.
