Chapter 30: Hop on
CHAPTER 30: HOP ON
ANNA'S POV
"Do you really want to talk about that now?" I asked, with a skeptical look as my eyes fleeted across to her and back to the forest floor. Suddenly, I felt nervous with her gaze on me and I just didn't know how to behave. My hands tightened into fists beside me as she took a step toward me.
"Anna..." She called out as she took hold of my hands. She loosened my fists and I looked up at her.
"I'll do it, again. I'll do it over and over again, Anna. If I had the opportunity to save you from Nate as I did, I'd do it whenever and wherever." Her voice was a bit shaky and I looked at her with a serious gaze. Looking at her, I could see how sincere she was and my heart shook.
"Even after all that had happened?" I asked, with raised brows and she nodded, decisively.
"Even after you know what I thought about you?" I asked and she nodded.
"You didn't think twice before killing for my sake, Anna. Why should I do that too?" I heard her say and I shrugged, nonchalantly.
"You don't have to reciprocate my actions, you know." I said, in a nonchalant tone while I looked at her. My lips were drawn into a thin line while I tried to keep off the smile on my face. My twinkled but then I didn't want her seeing me that way.
"Do you really mean that, huh?" I heard her say and I was quick to shake my head. Of course, I didn't mean it. She could reciprocate my actions, just however she wanted.
"Let's go back now. The others will be worried." I heard her say and immediately, we dashed away from where we were. It was a long distance to where the rogue's square was located and we were quick on the run.
Twenty minutes later, we were approaching the square but then I was conscious about my body. In the next second, we halted and I heard Aria say, "You wouldn't want to go out there looking like that." She said, with a snort.
"I know, right." I replied, with a chuckle. I had been running for twenty minutes with my breasts dangling all over it place. I was a bit tired and Aria was worse. She looked like she was going to collapse at any moment and I chuckled.
"You must not have run for that long, in a long while." I said, with a chuckle and she nodded while still breathing hard. Her face had turned red due to the slapping motion of the wind. It was obvious that our throats were parched and we really needed care at this point.
"How are we going to get clothes for you? You should mind-link Jonas or something. He is going to be here in just minutes." She said and then she winked, mischievously.
Immediately, it hit me that she must be thinking about something really naughty, "What are you thinking of, Aria? Why do you have to wink at me that way?" I asked, with wide eyes and she blushed deeply and then looked away.
"Well, I think you should do everything to get him closer since your wolf likes him anyway." She said with a shrug and my eyes, narrowed. However, I could feel Kyra jumping within me as she was glad to hear Aria's words.
"Do as she says, Anna! Do as she says! Do everything to get him close to us!" I heard her say and I could feel anger wash over me.
"Shut up!" I yelled and Aria flinched as well with wide eyes. She looked really shocked and fearful as she had felt the full brunt of my shout to Kyra.
"What was that for? You don't have to shout at me that way? I was just giving a harmless suggestion." She said, in a meek tone and I could see her eyes water, in tears.
"It was for Kyra. She wouldn't stop putting ideas into my head." I replied, with a shrug and then walked to stand beside her.
"Are you about to cry, right now?" I asked, with a mocking smile on my face.
"Of course, not." I heard her say but then a mischievous smile crept onto her face. Suddenly, I could see a lost look in her eyes like she was in a trance. I realized she was trying to mind-link someone. It could be Nate but then I started to think if Aria was really up to something.
Two minutes later, she cut off the mind-link and I eyed her, suspiciously.
"What did you do?" I asked as I continued to look at her with a suspicious gaze.
"Well, just a few things." She replied, with a small smile and then started to walk forward.
"Where are you going?" I asked, in a bewildered tone. I wondered why she was going forward when I couldn't even move an inch all because I was naked and conscious of myself.
"Well, I need to get a few clothes for you." She answered nonchalantly and I nodded, understandingly. However, I didn't know I was being fooled.
A few minutes later, Aria had disappeared from sight and I was left to stand alone in the dark and cold thick bush. However, my eyes and ears were alert for any hidden danger. A few seconds later, I heard footsteps from behind and I sighed, tiredly.
"It took you so long to get back. Do you get black clothes? I should have told you I prefer black to any color." I said with a small smile on my face as I turned to look at Aria.
However, I was met with the shock of my life and my eyes widened when I didn't see Aria but Jonas.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, bewildered.
"To get you clothes." I heard him say and I shook. I realized Aria had fooled me big time. She had mind-linked Jonas the other time and not just anyone. I looked down at my naked self and I swallowed. Nakedness wasn't a bizarre thing between Werewolves but then I was conscious before Jonas.
"Where are the clothes?" I asked, through gritted teeth and immediately he stretched them toward me, I took them with so much anger. My eyes burned with fury as I hoped I'd see Aria right before me, already. I needed to teach her a lesson.
All the while, Jonas had his eyes on me and his gaze felt really hot. I felt my body squirm under his gaze and I swallowed.
"Can you see the way he looks at you, huh?" I heard Kyra say in my head but then I chose to ignore her.
"Let's go, Jonas." I said to him, with a smile and he was quick to stand by my side. His actions were weird but then I chose to overlook it.
"Are you fine? Aren't you cold or tired from all the running?" I heard him ask and I nodded my head.
Of course, I was tired and I could feel my joints ache. For days, I had been all over the place. I didn't get a good chance to rest all this while.
"Yes, I'm okay." I replied finally as I wasn't ready to tell to him that I was tired. I just wanted to go back and just fall into deep sleep. I was starting to think of the deep sleep I would subject myself to and I didn't notice what Jonas was up to.
"Hop on." He said suddenly and I snapped out of my thoughts.
"What?" I asked, with wide eyes and he smirked at me while looking at me from his side. Slowly, he crouched down and his broad back was visible to me.
"Hop on my back." He said and I shook.
"I know you are tired from all the stress you have been through. This is the least I could do for you. I wouldn't want you to stress yourself so much." I heard him say and I could sense how thoughtful he was. A smile was already creeping onto my face and I didn't bother to fight it.
"Sure..." I let out after some time and in the next second, I climbed on his back, and in a few seconds, I was laid comfortably on his broad back. It was the best feeling ever and I could feel my body relaxing, immediately.
"Are you comfortable?" He asked as he adjusted my body on his back. At the same time, I could feel his naked broad back and his chest. His body was so warm and I could feel his warmth radiating all over me.
"Yes..." I replied to his question. I was tempted to say I had never been so comfortable but then I held myself back. The smile on my face was never ending and I could feel Kyra jumping and hopping joyously within me.
"Oh, I can feel his wolf. He is so strong and furry..." She said in my head and I raised my brows, in surprise. I was feeling so mushy just by him carrying me on his back. I wondered how much more mushy Kyra was going to feel. I felt she was head over heels in love with Jonas himself and not his wolf.
"Are you sure you can handle my weight?" I asked as he started to move.
"Well, you have nothing to worry about. You are light as a feather." He replied, in an enthusiastic tone and I gasped.
"Do I feel that small, huh?" I asked as I didn't like the sound of that.
"You are not small, Marie. But you are not too much to handle." I heard him say and I could feel my head spinning. However, it wasn't due to his words but because he called me Marie.
His voice was so sensual as well and I couldn't stop replaying how it sounded in my head.
"Can you call me that, again?" I asked, in a shy and sweet tone while my smile widened, visibly.
"What?" He asked, cluelessly at first but he was quick to get the hang of my question.
"Marie?" He called out and I squirmed, in delight. My heart felt squirmy as well.
"You like that?" He asked and I nodded.
"Well, no one has called me Marie that way. It's nice to hear my name in that manner." I said, truthfully.
"Is that so?" He asked back and I nodded.
"I'll take note then." He said and everywhere went silent with only the sound of our footsteps, resounding in the air. We were already approaching the rogue's square but then why didn't I feel happy about this?
"I think you should put me down here." I said, suddenly and he halted. I could feel his stance change and I wondered what was wrong.
"Why?" I heard him ask but then I didn't know how to explain what I was thinking.
"Would you want the others to see us this way?" I asked, with wide eyes and a shy look.
"Why not? What's so bad about that?" He asked, proudly and I had to shut my mouth immediately. I realized Jonas didn't care if anyone saw us together. In fact, he looked so proud about it.
"He feels the same way about us, Anna. Don't fight this." I heard Kyra say and I sighed. At this point, I didn't even know what to do anymore. I realized Kyra's feelings were starting to rub all over me and I couldn't stop it. We are one after all.
"Here we are..." I heard Jonas say as soon as we got to the rogue's square. I could feel eyes on us already. However, what was more baffling at the moment was the trouble I had caused.
"What are we going to do about that, Jonas?" I asked, in worry as I pointed at the tent in the distance. I was already dreaming of having a deep sleep but then I didn't think that was possible.
