Who is that?
Who is that?
April got into her hotel room dressed like a man.
Her eyes were narrowed in anger as she threw down a lamp from the bedside table. "A surprise wedding, huh?" She gritted, blood burning with anger. "I'll give them a wedding to remember!"
April flew into South City in disguise for a secret mission for the Cordel family. After seeing the press around her sister and Rafael's survival as well as her mother taking over the Lontoc and Rivera companies, she sought for an opportunity to come into South City and when the opportunity presented itself, she took it with both hands.
However, due to her condition as a wanted person she couldn't go about freely for fear of getting caught as a dupe. The first few days, she spent carrying out her business with her colleagues until she had some free time.
She decided to find out what her silly sister was up to and stalked her house only to find out she had long packed away. Apparently, June was living a comfortable life as the wife of Rafael while she had to live as a fugitive, hiding her identity.
Things took a different turn when she saw her mother come out of June's house in a car and trailed her to the mall. Her heart burned upon seeing her mother with Mrs Beatrice meeting up together, and shopping like best friends.
She wanted to leave but decided to observe them closely with hopes of getting a picture of what her mother and sister's life looked like from the outside. Thankfully, she didn't leave, else she wouldn't have found out about their little plan to give her sister a surprise wedding.
April, who planned to leave South City the next day, immediately placed a call to her boss, asking for more time to take care of business. When she walked up to her mother dressed as a man, she took a big risk which paid handsomely as her darned mother didn't recognise her.
She picked up her burner phone, calling one of her colleagues with a frown plastered on her face. The phone rang and he picked up on the first ring.
April went on to update her colleague on the situation, telling him to play along with promises of monetary benefits if the plan succeeded.
April dropped the call with a crooked smile. If her family thought they could live happily ever after while she continued in hiding, then they were wrong. She would make her sister's wedding an unforgettable one.
The last she will ever have.
Mrs Beatrice called Evelyn with a smile on her face. It was a video call from the Old Ambrose Family house. "I have great news for you!" She announced from the get go.
Evelyn placed her phone by her bed as she folded some laundry. "What is it, Beatrice? You sound so excited."
"Because I am! I just called the number that stranger gave me and guess what?"
Evelyn narrowed her eyes. She didn't think her friend would go on with her big plan to throw a flash wedding for their children but it seemed she was wrong.
"What happened?" She asked and Beatrice clapped her hands.
"They can fit in a small and intimate wedding for our children this weekend!" Beatrice announced proudly. "We just have to pay some money and everything will be prepared to perfection."
"I saw a catalogue of their work and found out they planned the wedding of some of the most influential families in North and South City." Beatrice said. "We really hit gold with them."
"That's interesting," Evelyn said, feeling uneasy. "Don't you think it's happening so quickly? I mean, our children might not want us interfering in this manner."
A brief silence. "Don't tell me you still think they need more time to themselves before throwing the wedding. I know love when I see it and I know for certain that our children are inseparable. Two sides of a coin."
"Then why the rush?"
"Because life is short!" Beatrice said, "I want to watch my son stand on the aisle with the love of his life. I want to see with my own eyes that he got his happy ending after all his life's battles."
Evelyn felt swayed by Beatrice's words but she couldn't ease the fear in her heart. Mrs Evelyn felt like everything was happening too fast and with her horrid life experiences, she constantly found herself waiting for the other shoe to drop.
"I think they both deserve a stress free wedding after all they've been through. With this plan, we all win."
Mrs Beatrice spent the next few minutes trying to sway Mrs Evelyn into supporting and acting along with her plan and it worked. Although Mrs Evelyn didn't feel all comfortable with the idea, she shook off the foreboding feelings and agreed.
Partially because she couldn't stand Beatrice's persistent persuasion, and the thought she might be having a hard time allowing the wedding to take place for selfish reasons.
Evelyn knew her daughter was legally married to Rafael, the traditional side of her which had yet to see them stand on an aisle let herself believe her daughter was still hers.
She couldn't help the feeling that when June finally walked down the aisle, they'd be separated, and she'd be forced into the position of an extended family. Nevertheless, when she heard the plan, she decided to play her part.
Liam was in a meeting when he received a call from Lucy, informing him of June's wedding happening in the weekend.
"Aren't they already married?" He spoke over the phone with a surly expression. All his efforts to locate and single out April Lontoc had failed woefully, which placed him in a terrible mood.
"Yes. But the mothers decided to plan a surprise wedding for them this weekend." Lucy said, "I was asked to spread the news, I sent a copy of your invite. Make sure you bring it along as you come. Bye!"
Lucy ended the call before Liam could say a word. He rolled his eyes as a message dinged into his phone, containing June's wedding invite. He didn't open it, and continued on his work until three knocks came from the door.
"Who is that?" He called, already in a terrible mood.
Lydia squeaked the door open, stepping into the office.
"I don't remember asking you to come in, Lydia." He gritted, but she stepped forward holding a phone in her hand.
"You need to hear this." Lydia had a grotesque look on her face, "That bitch is in South City," She explained, "I got a call from one of my men in the city. Apparently, she is planning something big."
That caught Liam's attention.
"There's this wedding, I think her sister's, she hired some of the Cordel Family in South City. I finally have an opening to deal with that traitor."
"What makes you think this isn't some fake ploy to get you killed?" Liam asked, "You are supposed to be dead. I won't help you if you decide to walk into a fucking trap."
"It's not. My dead husband might have the undying loyalty of the men in North City, but I was able to hack into the Cordel family in South City." She said with confidence, "They never liked Andre and I bet they don't like his second in command either. They are undoubtedly loyal to me."
Liam stared at her for a while before speaking. "What have you heard?"
