CHAPTER THIRTEEN

We got into his car as we made our way out of the grand mansion and towards a popular restaurant in the street, everything felt nice as the sleek sports car purred to life. We drove to the nearest restaurant. He came out of the car and came over to my side. I came out while he held the door for me and we made our way into the restaurant. The cool breeze made the environment inviting as we sat in a far corner. The waiter came to us and he asked me to order. I was pretty hungry but I wanted a simple dish, "Let me have pancakes topped with fresh berries and maple syrup." I said with a smile.

"Then I'll have the same." He said as the waiter left to go get our order. "So tell me who's Ayesha?" I asked while we waited for our order.

"You sound jealous." He said jokingly.

" Why would I be jealous?" I said with a straight face.

He smiled gently "Well… Ayesha is a long story. " The waiter brought our food and we started eating. "Back when I was young, my father was king but he wanted power, he seemed power in any form. He wanted to rule over all the other Lycan packs far and wide, his only opposition was the Alpha King Lovren. He was very strong and he wielded the strongest weapon of a Lycan, the seal. The seal was a weapon that allowed the wielder to control different Lycans subconsciously. My father wanted the seal but he couldn't get it because whenever he tried to use force with his guards Alpha King Lovren would turn them into his pawns and they would subconsciously follow every order of his.

"Wow… that's such a strange and great power," I said.

"Yea, no one knew how he attained such magnificent power but, everyone feared its effects and the wielder. Nobody dared look into his face except my Dad. Instead of being afraid of the power he wielded, my dad wanted that power and would go to any lengths to get his hands on it. He would send thousands of troops, but none would come back to the kingdom. He would scout and gather several other troops and they would all get under his control. After several years rumours of someone with the powers to not be controlled by the seal started spreading to ascertain that news my dad goes in search of the man himself. The man was truly powerful; he was a magician and he could control illusions. After so much persuasion he agreed to help my dad but only on one condition and that was for the King to make him wealthy and take care of his only daughter and make her part of the Royal family. The daughter of the great magician turns out to be Ayesha.

After her father helped my father and my father got his hands on the seal my father wanted to keep his promise by making Ayesha my future mate. He called a meeting and declared that Ayesha would be united with me. I was young so I couldn't resist and my mother also died when I was young so I had no choice but to agree."

"Wow!! So you guys started living together, why didn't you like her? She is pretty and I'm sure she has been like that since you guys were young." I said, trying to get the word out of his mouth.

"Well… I was getting attached at one point but I fell in love with another, the girl was beautiful and she looked like an angel. She had a very amazing voice and she had very nice and soft skin. It was love at first sight, and she captured my whole existence. No matter how I tried to run away from the truth that I wasn't in love with her I always realised I couldn't live without her, everything I wanted was with her, she was kind, gentle and she had a very great sense of curiosity. She learned from her surroundings and everything I wanted was her. Her choice of words always made me feel as if I wanted to know more. She loved researching a lot too. I loved her so much but I didn't get to tell her." He said replying to my question.

I couldn't help but feel jealous of the way he described her. It seems he loved her more than himself, but why wasn't he with her " So why aren't you with her?" I asked with jealousy displaying in my voice.

"She was killed." He said looking down and seeming depressed. I felt guilty for asking him that kind of question, if only I hadn't asked he wouldn't be this sad. I wanted to speak but I didn't know what to say. Everything felt unreal with his words and it seems he still feels sad about the whole incident.

I wanted to stop there and tell him we should leave. But my curiosity got the better of me as I blurted out a very serious question, one I knew I shouldn't have said if I was not selfish: "Who killed her or what killed her?" I said, but I regretted it immediately, putting my head down in shame. I couldn't look into his face, but I still wanted him to reply. I hoped he would. I was curious and I wanted to know everything about this strange girl that captured his heart so much. For several years he still remembers her so vividly and could describe her without looking at her picture, it was as if he held an image of her in his head.

" My dad killed her." He blurted out with tears streaming down his cheeks, it was as If he was haunted by the memories of her death.

Why? Why would he kill her I thought. Killing an innocent girl, he was a bad person. I wonder what ended him.
