Milan was wrapped in an atmosphere of glamour, with its bustling streets, high-end fashion boutiques, and elegant restaurants. Victoria, still under the identity of Melissa White, was beginning to understand why Damien loved the city so much. After all, it was the perfect backdrop to disguise his illicit activities.

Days had passed since her meeting with Stefano Graviano, and the Italian banker hadn't been in touch, as Victoria had hoped. As she continued her investigations into the world of finance and tried to uncover Damien's secrets, she also had to keep her husband in check and prevent him from discovering what she was up to.

That's how she found herself at Milan's airport, patiently waiting for Damien's arrival. When the plane touched down and passengers began disembarking, she carefully scanned the crowd, looking for her husband. Finally, she spotted him, his familiar face in the sea of travelers. Damien, a man of distinguished appearance, in an elegant suit with dark hair, smiled when he saw her.

“Victoria!” He approached and embraced her enthusiastically. “I've missed you so much.”

Victoria returned the embrace, maintaining her disguised smile. “I've missed you too, Damien.”

Unaware that his wife was operating under a false identity, Damien was emotionally invested in their reunion. He kissed her forehead and then looked at her affectionately. “So, what have you planned for us here in Milan?”

Victoria, still as Melissa, decided to keep the conversation friendly and seemingly casual. “I have several surprises and plans for us, Damien. Let's make the most of our stay.”

He smiled with excitement. “That's wonderful, Victoria. I can't wait for it.”

On the way to the hotel, Damien expressed his curiosity about what Victoria had planned. “I can't wait for the surprises, but first, I have a business commitment. Do you mind?”

Victoria knew she had to be cautious about asking questions regarding this “business commitment.” She didn't want to raise suspicions. She replied with mild curiosity, “Of course, Damien. Who is this business partner?”

Damien appeared relaxed and unconcerned. “It's an investor. I'll be having dinner with him tonight, and then I'll be all yours.”

Victoria raised an eyebrow, feigning interest. “An investor? And does he have a name?”

Damien chuckled, his expression seeming relaxed, but there was a glint of cunning in his eyes. “You know how these business guys are, dear. It's nothing personal. His name is Stefano.”

Victoria's eyes narrowed slightly at the mention of Stefano. The name of the Italian banker had been a critical part of her investigation. However, she needed to stay calm and cautious. “I see, Damien. I'm looking forward to spending the evening with you.”

When they arrived at the hotel, Damien settled into his room. Victoria also had a separate suite, under the identity of Melissa White. She wanted to maintain a safe distance from Damien while investigating what he was doing in Milan and what had happened with Stefano Graviano.

In Damien's suite, she watched him with a sense of anxiety. He seemed excited about his dinner with Stefano, as if he were looking forward to it for some reason. Victoria needed to act shrewdly, as she couldn't let Damien discover her activities in Milan or her ongoing investigations.

Victoria approached him, smiling sweetly. “Damien, before you go, let me help you choose the appropriate attire for dinner.”

He smiled and agreed, looking delighted at the idea of receiving help from his wife. Together, they selected an elegant suit, and Victoria helped adjust his tie with care. However, behind the loving act, her heart raced with concern.

Victoria kept her expression neutral as she continued to question him. “I was thinking, you know, Damien. I thought we could all have dinner together. It would be interesting to meet some of your business partners.”

Damien seemed surprised by the suggestion. “Oh, I don't think that's necessary, dear. Let's not mix business with pleasure, shall we?”

Finally, Damien was ready and gave Victoria a quick kiss on the lips before leaving. “I'll be back as soon as I can, Victoria. I can't wait for our plans.”

She smiled as Damien left the room, and as soon as the door closed, the tension in her shoulders seemed to ease. Victoria knew she had to act quickly. She couldn't let Damien discover her activities in Milan or her ongoing investigations. With that in mind, she began to search Damien's belongings for any clues that might shed light on his plans and partnerships in the Italian city.

Damien was in a restaurant near the hotel, seated at a table with Stefano Graviano. Their gazes met, and Stefano expressed his surprise at Damien's unexpected visit to Milan. Damien, in turn, smiled like a man who knows what he wants and needs.

“I'm surprised by your visit, Damien. What brought you to Milan?” Stefano inquired while observing his guest closely.

Damien maintained his smile, trying to keep the conversation light and casual. “Nostalgia, Stefano. Nostalgia for you, for the city, for Milan.”

Stefano raised a skeptical eyebrow, aware of the wordplay and appearances that permeated the business world they were both involved in. “It's not just that, Damien. You're not the type to make international trips just out of nostalgia.”

Damien laughed, acknowledging that Stefano was right. “You've got me, Stefano. Actually, I need your help.”

Stefano raised an eyebrow, still skeptical but visibly curious. “Help? Since when do you require help, Damien? You usually handle your own problems.”

Damien decided to be straightforward, without beating around the bush. “I need to withdraw twenty million from the offshore account in Panama, and I don't have direct access to that sum.”

Stefano pondered for a moment, as if considering the proposal. “Twenty million? That's not a small amount, Damien. What did you do to need such a large sum?”

Damien sighed, choosing to be partially honest with Stefano. “I made some risky investments, Stefano. The truth is, I invested part of that money in an art piece with a partner, but he got arrested. Now, Towsand's partners are putting pressure, and I need to recover the lost value.”

Stefano furrowed his brow, looking at Damien with a sharp gaze. “Investing in art, Damien? You know, I don't usually get involved in that kind of business. But let's see what we can do.”

Damien knew his situation was delicate, and Stefano's trust was essential to solving the problem. “I understand it might raise suspicions, Stefano. Withdrawing twenty million without justification is risky. Can you help me come up with a plausible excuse for this withdrawal? Stefano, I'm in trouble, and I don't know what to do. I'll go straight to prison if I don't resolve this.”

Stefano remained calm and contemplative. He knew that helping Damien was not a matter of simple generosity. “To withdraw twenty million without raising suspicions, you'll need a good reason to justify this movement.”

Damien nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. “I know that, Stefano. But right now, I don't have a business in sight to justify such a withdrawal.”

Stefano pondered for a moment. “Perhaps we can use an investment as a justification. A legitimate business, something that can cover the amount without drawing too much attention.”

Damien hesitated, looking worried. “The problem is, I don't have available capital at the moment to invest.”

Stefano smiled, as if he had been waiting for the right moment to reveal his trump card. “Don't worry, Damien. Luck is on your side. An investment broker named Melissa White has come up with a quite interesting proposal. I plan to use that proposal to help you.”

The mention of Melissa White captured Damien's attention. He felt a shiver down his spine. “Melissa White... Are you sure she's trustworthy?”

Stefano smiled conspiratorially. “So far, yes. This investment broker came up with a tempting proposal.”

He looked at Stefano with a touch of apprehension. “Melissa White? Are you sure?”

Stefano nodded. “Yes, I'm sure.”

Damien breathed a sigh of relief and explained his concern. “I need to be sure, Stefano. A woman named Miranda York, who had black hair, was involved in Kenny Banksy's arrest. If this Melissa White is related, I need to be cautious.”

Stefano chuckled in a relaxed manner, as if danger were something distant from his mind. “Damien, I don't fall so easily for a woman. If the proposal is convincing, I'll use it to justify the withdrawal. But rest assured, Melissa White doesn't have black hair.”

Damien composed himself, relieved to hear that the mysterious Miranda York, who had caused Kenny's arrest, wasn't involved. He knew he needed to be cautious, but Stefano seemed to be on his side, at least for now. “Very well, Stefano. I trust you. If this proposal is the solution to my problem, I'll accept it.”

Despite Stefano's reassuring words, Damien knew that there was more going on beneath the surface than he could perceive. The enigma surrounding Miranda York persisted, but for now, Damien could focus on resolving his financial dilemma.

The conversation continued, and Damien and Stefano discussed the details of the operation, knowing they were about to embark on a dangerous endeavor. Damien was aware that his financial problems were just the beginning of a series of challenges that lay ahead. But at that moment, he had no other choice but to trust Stefano Graviano and his shadowy connections to find a solution to his predicament.
