INTERPOL
The bar was filled with people chatting and laughing, but for Miranda and Kenny, the constant murmur of voices served as a sound curtain for their discreet conversations. Sitting in an isolated corner, they carefully planned their next moves.
Miranda watched Kenny as she thought of a strategy to shake off the private investigator who had been tailing her around London. She knew they needed to act swiftly and efficiently to ensure the safety of the valuable painting they had acquired.
Finally, she broke the silence. “Kenny, I'm thinking maybe it's a good idea for us to head to Milan as soon as possible. There, we can shake off this investigator and, hopefully, safely transfer the painting.”
Kenny nodded, understanding the logic behind Miranda's suggestion. “You're right, Miranda. London is no longer safe for us with this investigator on our tail. Milan is an excellent idea.”
Miranda smiled, relieved that Kenny agreed. She knew she needed to keep the painting safe and, at the same time, move forward with her mission. “Great. I was thinking we could leave tomorrow morning if you're willing.”
Kenny looked at her, assessing the seriousness in her expression. “I'm ready whenever you are, Miranda. The security of the painting is a priority, and Milan seems like the next logical step.”
Miranda nodded and began to plan their next moves. “Perfect. I'll go upstairs to get my things from the room, and then we can leave in the morning.”
Kenny agreed and watched as she got up and headed toward the elevator. He knew what they were doing was dangerous, but he trusted Miranda and was willing to accompany her on this risky journey.
As Miranda rode the elevator up, her heart was racing. She knew the decision to leave London and head to Milan was the sensible one, but it also meant distancing herself further from Damien and his secret plans.
In her room, she packed a small backpack with the essentials for the trip. Clothes, fake documents, money, and, of course, the valuable Johannes Vermeer painting. She treated the painting with extreme care, wrapping it in a soft fabric and then placing it in a sturdy box.
When she was ready, she left the room and went down to the bar, where Kenny was waiting. He smiled when he saw her approach. “Ready to go, Miranda?”
She nodded determinedly. “Yes, Kenny. Let's ensure this painting makes it to Milan safely.”
Together, they left the bar and made their way back to Kenny's hotel, where his vehicle was parked. As they drove through the streets of London, Miranda couldn't help but feel relieved to leave the city behind, at least temporarily.
Upon arriving at the hotel, they entered Kenny's room to gather the last few things before departing. Miranda looked around, thinking of all the twists and turns her life had taken since she embarked on this mission. She knew the road ahead would be dangerous and full of challenges, but she was determined to complete it successfully.
Kenny gathered his own belongings and then took Miranda's backpack, checking to ensure the painting was secure. “All set, Miranda?”
She looked at him with a confident smile. “Yes, Kenny. Let's move forward.”
And so, with the precious painting safely tucked away and their next stop in Milan, they set off into the unknown, ready to face whatever came their way in their quest to unravel Damien's secrets and his network of illegal activities.

The morning in London was overcast and cool. In their hotel room, Kenny Banksy and Miranda York were finalizing preparations for their departure to Milan. The room was filled with suitcases and clothing, and Miranda was busy folding some garments to fit into her luggage.
Kenny watched Miranda with a smile. He knew this journey was risky, but there was something exciting about it that drew him in more and more. She was a determined woman, and he liked that.
Miranda picked up the painting 'Girl with a Pearl Earring,' a masterpiece by Johannes Vermeer, and looked at it with a mixture of admiration and concern. She knew the incalculable value of the painting, not just in terms of money but also as a key piece in her mission.
“Kenny,” Miranda began, “I was thinking maybe it would be better if you kept the painting in your suitcase. My luggage is already too heavy, and I don't want to attract unnecessary attention.”
Kenny considered Miranda's suggestion for a moment. He understood her reasoning and knew the painting would be safer with him. Moreover, he was willing to do whatever was necessary to protect the painting and assist Miranda in her mission.
“Of course, Miranda,” he agreed. “I'll put the painting in my suitcase. It's a sensible idea.”
Miranda nodded, grateful for his understanding. She handed the painting to Kenny, who carefully took it and securely placed it on the bed.
“I have to admit, Kenny,” Victoria said, keeping her voice low and cautious, “this painting is truly extraordinary. Have you had a chance to find out more about its origin?”
Kenny continued to work, skillfully handling the painting. “Not much, Miranda. This is one of those works that have been shrouded in mystery for centuries. There are theories about who the subject is, but nothing is definitive.”
Miranda looked at Kenny, curious. “And how did you come to possess this painting, anyway? It's not exactly something you come across on the market easily.”
Kenny paused for a moment, seeming to consider what to say. “Let's just say that a very influential friend of mine granted me access to it, Miranda. It's one of those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.”
Victoria nodded, understanding that Kenny wasn't willing to share many details about the painting. She was aware that he was involved in shady business, and this painting was clearly part of it. Her priority was to maintain her cover and continue her mission to uncover Damien's illegal activities.
Once Kenny had finished transferring the painting into his suitcase, he closed it carefully. “Ready, Miranda. Now we need to hurry if we want to catch our flight to Milan.”
Victoria agreed and picked up her own luggage. The two of them left the room and went down to the hotel lobby. There, they checked out and took a taxi to the airport.
With the painting secured, they finished packing and prepared to leave the room to catch their next flight to Milan. Miranda looked at herself in the mirror, adjusting her black wig to ensure her false identity as Miranda York remained intact.
Kenny approached her, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her close. He whispered in her ear. “Are you ready for the next step, Miranda?”
She turned to face him, smiling with determination. “Yes, Kenny. I'm ready. Let's head to Milan.”
They kissed passionately, sharing a moment of complicity before leaving the room and heading to the airport.
At London's airport, they checked in and went through security procedures. Victoria was tense, aware that the painting was with Kenny, but she trusted that he would keep it safe.
While waiting for their boarding, Victoria took the opportunity to mentally review the details of her mission. She was headed to Milan in search of more clues about Damien's illegal activities, and she also needed to keep an eye on the private investigator who had been trailing them in London.
Kenny noticed the tension in Victoria and placed his hand over hers, reassuring her. “Don't worry, Miranda. We'll take care of this painting and sort out our issues in Milan. You're safe with me.”
Miranda looked at Kenny and smiled. It was incredible how intense and full of twists the past few weeks had been. She knew she was taking risks with every step, but it was the only way to uncover the truth about Damien, her husband.
“Kenny, I need to use the restroom before we board,” she said, holding her carry-on bag.
Kenny nodded and replied, “Of course, Miranda. I'll wait for you here.”
She walked toward the restroom, and Kenny remained where he was, holding the luggage. However, as Miranda entered the restroom stall, she knew it was time to act. Quickly, she changed her clothes, shedding the elegant attire that characterized her as Miranda York. Now dressed discreetly in a beige dress, she let her blonde hair down.
Victoria Ashford approached one of the mirrors in the restroom. She applied some makeup to ensure her appearance matched her new identity. Now, she was ready to take the next step in her risky plan.
She exited the restroom as Victoria Ashford, her true identity, and headed to a more secluded area away from the boarding gate, where she wouldn't be as visible. Tension hung in the air, and she knew her move was risky, but it was the only way to stay safe.
Meanwhile, outside the restroom, Kenny's situation was about to take a very different turn. Interpol, which had been monitoring his activities, had finally arrived at the airport. The agents were acting swiftly, attempting to apprehend Kenny before he could escape.
Kenny nervously looked around when he saw the agents approaching. He had a bad feeling about this but didn't want to alarm Miranda. As the Interpol agents closed in on him, he tried to remain composed.
“Mr. Banksy, we need you to come with us for some questioning,” said one of the agents with a shiny Interpol badge.
Kenny felt a shiver down his spine but tried to maintain his composure. “What is this about? I haven't done anything wrong.”
The agents surrounded him, and one of them noticed the luggage Kenny was guarding. He looked suspiciously at the bags and then asked to inspect them. Kenny tried to refuse, but the agents were insistent. When they opened one of the bags, their eyes widened in surprise.
“This is a stolen painting!” exclaimed one of the agents, referring to Johannes Vermeer's masterpiece, 'Girl with a Pearl Earring.'
Kenny had no choice but to attempt to flee, but the Interpol agents were well-trained and agile. They detained him before he could take too many steps, and he was handcuffed while protesting his innocence.
While all of this was happening, Victoria made her way to her airline's counter. She remained calm, presenting her true identity when requested. Her ticket to Milan was intact, and she intended to board as planned.
The news of Kenny being detained by Interpol didn't reach her. She knew she had taken a risk by distancing herself from him, but it was part of her plan. Now, with her new identity established, Victoria was ready to move forward with the next phase of her mission: uncovering the dark truths surrounding her husband, Damien, and his illegal activities.
