Chapter 23

The Morning rays dawning on my face complemented with the chirping of birds gently woke me from my beautiful sleep. For the first time in days, I actually enjoyed my sleep thanks to my affectionate Alpha.

My eyes opened abruptly when I couldn't feel his warmth nor his touch over me again. Only his scent remained on the bedsheets. A part of me had wished his arms were still curled around my waist while I woke up to his steely chest.

I alighted from the bed, thinking about my work in Greenville High. One Kevin had relieved me of. To be honest, my body wasn't inclined towards boring school files too. I rather dreamed to spend time with my mate.

And speaking of Mates, I wondered where Kevin had wandered too. I checked the bathroom, but he wasn't there, hence I trailed downstairs where Gabriel's voice screeched.

"My Goodness! Kevin what have you done?!" He blared with an obvious laughter as heavy smokes emanated from the kitchen.

"What happened?" My voice sharply toned amidst all the mess.

"Oh, hi Claire." Gabriel grinned at me as we stood in front of the kitchen alongside Rose, condensed with smokes of burnt foods.

"This is Kevin's awful attempt at making breakfast."

He mocked causing Rose to burst into laughter.

"Shut up Gabriel!" Kevin blared from the kitchen, I almost burst into laughter too, but I quietly strolled into the Kitchen. Amidst the mess, I found my mate trying to shoo off the smokes with his hand towel.

"We'll leave you two love birds to enjoy your breakfast." Rose mumbled while Gabriel laughed again. Kevin hissed, glaring like he was going to pounce on them. They giggled away till their voices vanished with the air leaving me with smokes, burnt food and my wonderful mate.

I joined him at the cabinet while he tossed his green hand towel across his left shoulder. I smiled at the cabinet I ran my fingers on as I inched towards him. There he was standing awkwardly in his brown T shirt and knickers with guilt painting on his face.

"So," I started, "someone is trying to be romantic." I flashed him a smile.

"What? No!" He wriggled his head when his eyes and tone said otherwise. I couldn't help but admire his cuteness being awkward and a little shy.

"I just thought of making breakfast for both of us, but it obviously turned into this." He pointed to the burnt pot still steaming, obviously he knew I wasn't buying his lie. He definitely planned on waking me up with delicious breakfast.

"You know, for an Alpha like you, you're a terrible liar." I teased, pushing his steely chest with my finger.

"Well, maybe a part of me tried to be romantic." He chuckled nervously and I couldn't help but blush.

"But now, I messed up. Apparently my mother's cooking prowess failed to rub off on me. I'm sorry."

"Well not entirely though." I smiled, glancing around for fresh utensils. "I happen to be a prowess." I winked but he held me back with a frown.

"You're still recuperating, Claire. I'll call Rose to help." But I wriggled my head before holding his beard gently.

"Stop treating me like an egg, Kevin. I can handle a little cooking." I asserted when in fact, I was secretly admiring his protectiveness and affection.

He pulled me closer so our lips almost brushed. His hands rested on my hips; my eyes lost in his beautiful Hazel irises.

"I know, my little one."

"Little one?" I pouted.

"You don't like it?" He asked with his eyebrow arched upwards.

"I do." I affirmed like a child. "Just wondering why you call me that."

"I don't know," he chuckled. "Let's just say last night, the way you looked so small and cute in my arms birthed that name."

I hit his chest playfully, reminiscing on how I was blessed with his warmth and care.

"So, you find me cute?" I teased softly, biting my lower lips. He brought his head closer to mine.

"Extremely beautiful, my little one." He whispered and I blushed again as his warm breaths softly caressed my cheeks. I teased his beards playfully again while my other hand tucked his hair messy strands behind his ear.

"Your little one wants you to do something for me."

"Anything apart from cooking." He chattered causing me to laugh.

"Your beards and this long strands of hair you carry hides your true handsomeness. It makes you look hot but not enough to my likening." I whispered while the corner of his lips formed a cocky smile.

"So, you agree I'm hot?" He replied.

"No!" I lied. He inched closer again so only needle space existed between us.

"You know, for a Luna like you, you're a terrible liar." He teased while I pouted.

"My beards I can shave but my hair, not quite sure about that. I love the way breeze tosses it around."

"Come on Kev, or I won't," I pursed thinking about the right leverage to use against him.

"You won't what?" He teased further.

"I won't speak with you for the whole day." I declared and he laughed.

"You know that's impossible, my little one." He affirmed and my heart had to agree but I didn't want to show it.

"But I'll do it only because you asked, and I can't resist your face." I chuckled.

"I'll have to use this pretty face of mine as a weapon from now on."

His eyes exclaimed in awe.

"Oh no, you shouldn't." I giggled.

"You should go now; I have to cook." I said, he hesitated for a while before making his move. Engaging his lips against smile. The sweet taste I've secretly been yearning for after our first kiss. The sparks even exploded on a higher note. An exciting mix of love and joy intertwined. I wondered if this sparks were going to keep growing day by day as we bonded.

Either ways, it was brief but one I wouldn't forget.

"Now I can leave." He whispered with a smile of admiration before exiting the Kitchen. I smiled like a child seeing fireworks for the first time as I touched my lips, blushing while I recalled our moment. It's only been yesterday but I was already getting so drunk in love. Our mate bond was no doubt a strong one.

And after having a lonely breakfast, touring about Greenville's gigantic Pack House, I decided to relax in the living room. Treating myself with red wine while I read a novel.

The door suddenly clicked open and I was instantly greeted by my mate's scent. I turned sharply in his direction and my eyes exclaimed. A smile of admiration crept to my face as he approached me with an awkward face.

"How do I look?" He asked, his uncertainties hinting in his voice. How did he look? His hairstyle was a natural side part but medium length and gleaming a bright shade of brown. His beards were completely shaved off revealing my perfect Prince Charming. His Hazel eyes studied mine trying to decipher what I obviously thought. I inched closer to him, eyeing his rosy red lips like a seductress.

"Too hot." I teased softly before claiming my mate's lips, he responded back. Intertwining his lips with mine as passion and lust drove us. I ran my fingers through his soft hair, feeling each strand whilst letting the exciting sparks explode throughout my body. I wanted more, to feel his warmth over me, to never stop tasting this sweetness that came along with his succulent lips but unfortunately, our need for breaths wouldn't let us go further.

"I missed you." I said as my fingers still played with his loose strands.

"Well, I didn't." He rolled his eyes while his hands curled around my waist. I hit him playfully on his chest.

"You look ugly than I remember." I retorted and he rolled his eyes.

"Seriously!" I reinstated with a pouty expression.

"Okay fine, I missed you too." He said alongside his chuckle. "Are you happy now, my little one."

I nodded like a child before pulling him to the couch. Our fingers intertwined and our hips feeling each other side by side.

"How are you feeling?" He asked, concerns booming in his voice.

"Getting better." I mumbled even though I still felt weakness and faint pain across my body. I didn't want to make him worried than he already was.

"Your Luna is bored." I said to ease the brewing tension.

"Well, looks you have wine," his eyes trailed to the stool where my glass cup was rooted. "And a book." He added. "Perhaps we can watch a movie?"

"No!" I whined. "I want you to entertain me." He frowned.

"Sorry but you've got the wrong guy." He then laughed.

"So, you're going to add to my pain rather than ease them?" My disappointments blared in my tone.

"I wish I could do otherwise, my little one." He sighed, stroking his hand over my fingers.

"Come on, don't you have anything fun in mind?" I whined but he wriggled his head in denial.

"My life was nothing but boredom till I met you so yeah, I don't have anything FUN in mind." He responded with a little sad expression that only lived for a second. I noticed the sincerity and seriousness in his tone and perhaps this was one of those times to have a serious talk.

"What was your life like before you met me?" My voice trailed a whispery path as I held his gaze. In them, I could see hesitation before his eyes darted to our hands which bonded.

"Dark." He stated with so much sadness hinting. "Empty." He pursed his lips. "When I was six, I lost my Father, he was the former Alpha before Jason. They say he committed treason, but I know my father was innocent. He would never dream of causing harm or hurt anyone. He was a kind soul. But no one stood up for him, not even my mother. She wouldn't even tell me the crime he committed up till now. No one will." He pursed his lips whilst his grip on me tightened. As if he were reliving that moment.

"Ever since I vowed to avenge him. And since that day, Rage and hatred became my best friend." He glanced at me with eyes that expressed sadness.

"That's how I got the name, the son of a traitor."

I leaned on his shoulder letting silence comfort us.

"I lost my mother around three or four I can't really remember. I don't know how it happened or why, but my Father wouldn't tell me. Apparently, it still hurts him, but it does more to me because he's hiding it." I pursed my lips, staring deeply at the red wine which started to look like blood.

"Perhaps our parents are doing us a favor by hiding some truths which can hurt us."

"Perhaps." He whispered while he ran his fingers through my hair slowly.

"Why don't we play a game?" I asked after minutes of silence again. I just couldn't bear the dampened mood slowly eating us.

"What game?" He turned to me with arched eyebrows.

"Truth or Dare." I raised my head from his shoulder, gleaming excitedly.

"Sounds boring to me." He rolled his eyes.

"Come on Kev," I hit him playfully on his shoulder. "It's gonna be fun, I promise."

He looked into my eyes before sighing.

"Alright you go first." He mumbled with a tiny smile.

"Truth or Dare?"

"Truth."

I bit my lower lip softly.

"Have you ever been in a relationship?" I asked in a jovial when secretly I really thirsted to know how many ladies my man had shared his body with.

"Nope." He simply answered. I rewarded him with a skeptical look. "I swear!"

"My goodness!" I whispered but he heard me.

"You've been in many?!" He toned in surprise and faint jealousy.

"What? No!" I declined with a slight frown. "I've only been in one before I met you."

"That's disappointing." He answered, his eyes lowering from mine. He was jealous, extremely! Even though he tried to hide it.

"I was sixteen then, it wasn't serious. Besides, If you lived in Moonsville then you'll certainly have one." I chuckled to lighten his mood, but he frowned.

"You're from Moonsville?" He asked.

"Yeah." I nodded; realization soon struck me he was getting to know my identity. I didn't want him to know yet I was the daughter of the Lycan. Knowing Kevin for who he is, he could be unpredictable.

"Then how are you here?"

"Let's just say, I needed a vacation from home and my Father knows people here in Greenville."

I responded but he still retained his quizzical look. I wondered why his body stiffened at the sudden mention of my Pack.

"Why are you so tensed?" I couldn't help but ask but he shrugged my question off with a smile.

"I'm just worried, what happens when your vacation ends?" He held my gaze, so I found it hard to waver. At the same time, I knew there was a lot more to his reaction than just worry.

"It depends," I teased while my fingers slowly climbed its way to his lips. "It depends on how long my Alpha wants me."

"You're playing with fire, little one." He quoted, his eyes on my fingers which teased his lips. Lust was gleaming like the sun in his Hazel irises and I knew anytime soon, he would snap and kiss me hungrily. But I didn't want that, I wanted to tease him, to make him crave crazily for me.

"Truth or Dare?" I whispered by his ear. His lips parted into a cocky smile.

"Dare."

I donned a mischievous smiled as I turned my face squarely to mine.

"I want you to strip tease." His eyes exclaimed. "I want to see you bare chested."

"Here?!" He exclaimed. "What if someone walks in?!"

"Then my mate is a coward who can't please me." I stated and immediately he arose, eyeing me cockily.

"You wanna see me bare, then fine!" He chuckled and then he slowly wore his shirt off his body. Revealing those perfect abs, and chest hard as a rock. My eyes gawked at his tattoo especially, the black wolf face imprinted on his right breast. This was one of the first thing I thirsted to see every day ever since I've met him. My legs took control and in oblivion, I was already near him. My fingers slowly ran from his fine packs, but he held my wrist from moving upwards with a naughty smile.

"My turn, Truth or Dare." He asked in a devilish voice, his lust had already taken control over him and I started to regret my actions.

"Truth." I whispered.

"Dare." He ordered while I nodded. "I dare you to flirt with me."

"Is that all?" I asked, my body already yearning to have his warmth basking over me. I pushed him to couch, eyeing him like a seductress while I climbed on his thighs. I moved my head towards his right ear.

"I can do more." I whispered, purposely brushing my lips against his ear lobe. His breaths escaped through his mouth while I ran my fingers across his chest. Our bodies burning with desire. At this point I didn't care where this was going to lead to. I ran my other hand across his hair while I kissed him soft across his neck, gradually lowering my head to his left nipple.

His body quivered for more and mine wasn't any different either. I didn't hesitate to pull on his rock-hard nipple and he didn't hesitate to run his hands under my top. His hands easily found my bra, feeling his warm touch over my breasts, I moaned in ecstasy. I briskly brought my lips to his, biting on his lower lip softly while he gripped my breast hard. Another moan cried to escape but our tongues were already battling for dominance, our breaths slowly becoming heavy and heat beckoning us to go further. His crotch was already rock hard, beckoning to rip his shorts apart to reach my honey pot. My legs parted wider while my hand streamed down to his little man and just when I was about to grab it, "Alpha!" Gabriel's sudden voice disrupted our moment.

"Oh shit, Gabriel, can't you at least knock?!" Kevin queried with an obvious frown, still holding me down on his thighs. His Beta smiled.

"Sorry for disrupting your fun but there has been an issue." He quoted with all seriousness. "An urgent one."

"What is it?" Kevin asked.

"We have a trespasser."

I stared confusingly at Gabriel before exchanging glances with my mate. Whatever this issue was, better worth ruining my fun.
