Chapter 236 This Is Not Caroline
"Help! Mr. Hamilton! Please spare me! Make them go away! Go away!"
But they couldn't escape. Like victims traded in the darkest corners of the underground, they could only endure those filthy hands, suffering the most degrading torture imaginable.
Soon, the two men were tortured beyond recognition.
Yet more men kept coming, one after another, using every conceivable method to violate them without restraint.
Suddenly, Alexander's mind flashed back to that day when he burst into the underground club—in front of everyone, he saw that woman tied to the platform.
She was barely clothed, her body covered in bloody wounds, evidence of violation everywhere. She had been assaulted in front of everyone.
In that moment, Alexander truly thought that woman was Caroline. His heart nearly stopped.
Later he discovered it wasn't her. He learned that Caroline had been rescued by Daniel, and at the time he felt relieved.
But what did he do after that?
He stormed into Daniel's house, saw Caroline naked in another man's arms, and completely forgot how grateful he'd been knowing Caroline was safe.
He violated her just like those animals at the underground club.
And he did it in front of Daniel.
He was no different from a beast—no reason, no thought, only base instinct.
In the basement, the stench of blood mixed with bodily fluids intensified, overwhelming his senses.
He covered his mouth, rushed out of the basement, and collapsed to his knees, vomiting violently.
"Sir!" Mark ran after him.
"Are you alright?!"
"Kill..." Alexander muttered, then suddenly shook off Mark's hand and roared.
"Kill them! Kill them all!"
"Sir! You..."
Before Mark could finish, Alexander had already staggered to his feet and stumbled out of Ravenwood Manor's gates.
Mark panicked and immediately led people to search everywhere.
Finally, they found Alexander in a high-end boutique that hadn't closed yet.
Alexander was standing in the women's section, pointing at items one by one.
"This one, this one, and this one... the red one, the beige one, the light purple one... wrap them all up."
The sales assistant was clearly frightened by this strange customer with wild eyes who was spending recklessly. She asked cautiously, "Sir, what size?"
Alexander froze, intense pain flashing across his eyes.
Finally, he gave his own measurements.
The sales assistant was stunned. "But... but many of our clothes don't come in that size..."
"Then go find them! Find what you have! Remember, mainly red!" Alexander suddenly roared.
The frightened sales assistant rushed into the stockroom with her colleagues.
When Mark burst into the store, he saw Alexander curled up on the sofa, hugging his arms tightly.
"Sir..." Mark called out carefully.
Alexander turned mechanically and waved at Mark. "Send everything to the master bedroom at Ravenwood Manor."
Back at Ravenwood Manor, Alexander entered the master bedroom alone and locked the door behind him.
Mark and the other servants waited anxiously outside, hearing only rustling sounds from inside, followed by a long silence.
Inside the master bedroom.
Alexander stiffly removed his clothes, throwing them on the floor one by one.
Then he carefully picked up a red dress and, almost reverently, pulled it over himself.
Although the sales assistant had tried her best to find the largest sizes, it was still too small.
And a man's build simply didn't fit women's clothing—his shoulders and chest stretched the fabric tight, the hem looked too short, making him look absurd and ridiculous.
But Alexander seemed oblivious. He walked to the vanity, dumped the makeup from the bag onto the table, sat down, and began clumsily fumbling with the bottles and jars in front of the mirror.
But he had no idea how to apply makeup.
Caroline rarely wore makeup, so during those last days when Alexander cared for her, he never did any of this.
He could only pick up the foundation and smear it randomly on his face, leaving patches of heavy, ghastly white. Then he used eyeshadow to make a complete mess of his eyelids. He even broke the lipstick and could only use the broken end to draw crookedly on his lips, applying it unevenly and outside the lip line.
Alexander trembled as he looked up at the face in the mirror, ruined beyond recognition by makeup.
No, this wasn't right.
Caroline wasn't like this.
She was beautiful. Even after he had tormented her into skin and bones, always looking sickly, she was still so beautiful you couldn't look away.
Not like him.
Alexander grabbed a makeup remover pad and frantically wiped at his face.
His cheeks quickly became red and swollen from rubbing, the skin breaking and bleeding.
But he didn't care. After wiping it clean, he picked up his phone with shaking hands and searched through his photo album.
There were very few photos of Caroline—mostly blurry profiles or old pictures from long ago.
Alexander found one that was relatively clear, held up his phone, and clumsily tried to copy it in the mirror.
He applied and wiped, wiped and applied again.
The redness and swelling on his face grew worse, the broken skin beginning to weep.
The image in the mirror became more and more distorted, more and more unfamiliar.
Finally, after yet another failed attempt, Alexander's sanity shattered completely.
"Useless! Worthless!"
Alexander roared and raised his hand, violently sweeping all the bottles and jars off the vanity, stomping on them viciously.
The area around the vanity was soon a complete mess. He raised his fist and smashed it hard into the mirror.
The mirror shattered, and Alexander's hand was cut deeply, bleeding profusely.
Outside the door, Mark knocked urgently. "Sir! What's wrong? Open the door! Open the door quickly!"
Alexander ignored him and bent down to pick up the makeup products.
Mark forced the door open from outside. Looking up, he saw Alexander wearing an ill-fitting dress, face painted grotesquely, right hand badly cut with blood flowing continuously.
Mark dropped to his knees. "Sir... have you lost your mind?"
Alexander looked up, stared blankly at Mark for a moment, then suddenly stumbled toward the door.
"Sir!" Mark was horrified and lunged forward, grabbing Alexander around the waist to hold him back.
"Where are you going? Your hand... let's treat the wound first!"
But Alexander forcefully broke free, muttering, "The cemetery... I need to go to the cemetery... right now..."
"Sir! Please calm down! At least change your clothes first and treat the wound!"
"Get out of my way!" Alexander shoved him hard. "Right now! I can't wait any longer!"
