Chapter 81

P.O.V. Lyall

When I arrived at the place where Cassandra spoke, I found my father and mother with her.

"It's finally time for your present," the witch queen said.

"Why don't we talk in a more private place? I think anyone will be able to hear what you have to say and from the look on your faces you seem to be serious," I said, trying futilely to get out of the rather awkward situation.

"We need to be in front of the moon," my mother took my hand and Ebon's and led us to two chairs, where we sat down.

"You two are standing before the most powerful beings in the universe and you bear the mark of a prophecy. Let's unite and try to recover the bond you've lost," Cassandra said, surprising us.

Although I had chosen Ebon to be mine until the end, the bond strengthened our union, as well as preventing anyone else from trying to enter my life.

At the same time, as they repeated a few words in a language unknown to me, I felt all my hormones stir and an intense pain hit my neck.

I looked worriedly at Ebon, who was bleeding where I had marked her in the past, as if the mark was being redone.

"My... companion..." I hugged Ebon while smiling and crying at the same time.

"I don't know how I can thank you," my predestined companion said.

"No need to thank me, your bond was temporarily annulled, but it hadn't been broken. They didn't allow it," my father said and I didn't understand.

"They?"

"Yes, the twins..."

My Ebon was pregnant and would give me not one, but two children.

I couldn't bear the emotion and, like a child, I collapsed, totally blacked out on the floor.
