Chapter 141
Scarlett’s POV
Sweat slid down my cheeks as I finally felt a small sense of victory in front of Alexander.
"Is that so?" Alexander raised one eyebrow, carelessly shrugging his shoulders.
"It's all the same... what you call me isn't important."
His voice suddenly lowered. "What's important is who's making love to you right now!"
Before I could celebrate my small victory, he had already pressed me back onto the bed.
Three days later, Luke drove me back to Alexander's apartment.
When we arrived at the apartment building, I immediately spotted Lillian.
She was carrying a basket of fresh mangoes toward the entrance, her golden hair gleaming in the sunlight.
When she saw me, a flash of obvious surprise crossed her eyes, though she quickly regained her composure.
"I didn't expect Miss Smith to be here as well." She approached me with a proper smile on her face.
"Miss Harber, um... Scarlett..." Luke stammered, clearly not knowing how to explain the current situation.
"Lillian, aren't you coming in?" Alexander's voice came from the doorway, deep and pleasant.
Hearing his voice, Lillian's eyes immediately brightened, and she quickly walked over with her basket.
"Alexander, why didn't you tell me Miss Smith was here? If I had known..." Her voice carried obvious disappointment, like a pouting little girl.
"What if you had known?"
Alexander reached out to gently stroke her hair. "You're sweating. Go take a shower and change your clothes."
Watching this scene, I stood in place, taking a deep breath.
But inside, it felt like a thousand ants were crawling, an unbearable mixture of itching and pain.
After composing myself, I turned to Luke. "Where are my passport and identification documents?"
Luke stood there awkwardly, glancing toward Alexander, clearly not daring to act on his own.
Seeing Luke's face twist with discomfort, I didn't pursue the question further and walked straight into the apartment.
As I passed by Alexander, I paused briefly, my voice neither loud nor soft, just enough for Lillian to hear.
"In the future, I hope Mr. Gray will address me as 'Auntie' to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings."
The next afternoon, our group arrived at the airport, preparing to return to Silverlight City.
We were all booked in first class, with Alexander and Lillian naturally sitting together.
I occupied a corner in the back by myself, enjoying the peace and quiet. However, upon returning to Silverlight City, even more trouble would be waiting for me.
Having failed to complete the mission, Marvin won't let me off.
At this point, marrying Richard seemed to be my only means of self-preservation.
If I had known things would develop to this stage, I should have stayed away from Alexander from the beginning...
The more I thought about it, the more my head ached.
Countless worries intertwined, like an invisible net suffocating me.
The flight from Colombia to Silverlight City only took four hours, but perhaps due to the high mental tension of the past few days, I felt even more exhausted.
Before long, I closed my eyes.
I don't know how long I slept before a sudden commotion woke me.
Before I could remove my eye mask, a familiar sensation suddenly sealed my lips.
"Alex—" My panicked cry was pushed back into my mouth by his invasive kiss.
My body was flipped over, once again placed in that humiliating position.
Burning anger instantly exploded in my heart.
Why am I always so powerless against Alexander?
"No, don't..."
"Don't what?" His voice was almost coaxing, like a deep bell, pulling me into the vortex of desire again and again.
My fingers trembled as they tightly gripped the blanket beneath me.
Sweat and tears had already soaked through my eye mask, making it very uncomfortable.
When I finally pulled off the eye mask, his hot palm immediately covered my eyes again.
"Alexander, let me go... Lillian..."
I struggled to remind him, feeling ridiculous.
Lillian is just a few rows away, yet he's doing this to me here? What is he thinking?
"Am I the one who won't let go?" His voice carried a malicious smile.
Shameless!
He was truly driving me crazy.
His fiancée Lillian was right nearby, so why did he have to do this now...
"Alexander, aren't you afraid that I'll cry out now, letting Lillian see your shameless behavior? Aren't you afraid..."
"Afraid of what?" He chuckled, his tone doing whatever he pleased.
"Alexander, as soon as I return to the country, I'm going to marry Richard. Please don't..."
"Don't worry." His voice was patient and gentle.
"Even on your wedding night, I'll make you willingly come to my bed. Why don't we practice in advance?"
His fingers lightly traced my lips. "Let's practice how to call 'husband' in the most pleasing way!"
